This is the best game series ever made
The absence of music during the battle is exactly what you want. The inclusion of music during battle would only take away from the reality of the experience. I'm quite sure they didn't hear music playing during combat in WW2!. In think the Brothers In Arms games are awsome and I just hope we see a 4th instalment, perhaps set during the Battle Of The Bulge. Great video by the way! 😊
One trivial thing I liked about the Brothers in Arms games is how it portrays armor. If this was a ww2 cod game,the friendly tanks would either get destroyed within the first few seconds it appears or be in the distance...doing nothing.

What happende to Dolye fucked me up as a kid, imagine what it was like to have one of your friends shredded wth bits of him all over you. Imagine what it was like for Don Malarky when two of his friend's were blasted to bits, they didn't even have bodies to bury.
Yes. Excellent review. Regarding skill 'ceiling'. There are four levels of difficulty to choose from. Authentic diff. eliminates all check points and helmet icons. Fail and you go back to the beginning of Chapter. The red suppression indicators can be deleted requiring more skill. Looking forward to your review of Hell's Highway. T.

The music in this game is too good to be only listened in loading and menu screens, but I understand their intentions
Music is very good but distracting in combat. It stops at the kick-off in the NFL, at the tennis court, swim meets. Focus is 'key' as Mac would say. All of the music including close-up orchestra photographs can be opened in the Extras Menu. Twelve scores for each of the first two games recorded by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir/MUSA FILMharmonic. Somewhat melancholy. Cheers. HNY
Recently bought a second hand ps2 after a weekend of nostalgic gaming with my best mate. It came with Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood. Looks like I lucked out (though it also came with “Get On Da Mic” a microphone based rapping game, so maybe not…😂)
Rap is not my thing but yes you lucked out with EIB. It is by far the most challenging of the three-game series and not for the Impatient player. Cheers.
I would say Road to hill 30 is lot more puzzle game like than Earned in Blood except for the tanks. Mainly because AI for both enemy and friendly and map design. Road to hill 30 maps are more like having one perfect solution to a problem map. Whereas in Earned in Blood there are multiple perfect solution. I did things like completely breaking contact and go behind the enemy and launch surprise attack. Enemy AI also properly moves and uses tactics on the friendly forces as oppose to in Road to hill 30 "when I move here, the enemy will move exactly there" kind of stuffs. I abused this system a lot in Road to hill 30.
But I would still say both are great game. On difficult tactics need to be way more thought out. Authentic is a little frustrating though because for some reason the command system gets bugged for me.
I play this game back on PC, and I mod reshade, the game is very good .. and recommendations to play

I reinstall and play this game on 3-4year basis. The deaths are still hard to see, and EiB is even harder. Dark stuff I agree. Have't played a game like it since.

I have Road To Hill 30 and Earned in Blood, planning to get Hell's Highway as well.
The first two are beyond amazing... I have never felt so immersed in a firefight in a game. You get so attached to your squadmates. I was quite young when I first played Road to Hill 30. Even then I tried not to get my squad mates killed, rather trying to solve fights mostly myself if possible.
Only one thing I hate about this game is the gun sway, it's complete aids.
Yeah same. The gun sway is super annoying. I get it though. It's to keep you from just charging and gunning them down at short range. Which you can still do fairly easily. Still, can't run and gun. Adds a lot to the game. I do wish when one of squad mates died that a new recruit came in, a new character. That'd be a cool game idea.
One thing i find annoying is almost all of the violence is just scripted. When you actually kill enemies theres just a small blood splat and thats it. It was always advertised as this crazy realistic gorey experience and its not that at all lol

No idea why there has not been more games like this. Or better yet, sequels to the original 2. Looking at it now the buidings etc seem v dated, but still, that squad based gameplay was awesome. All these call of duty/medal of honor games are OK, but a bit video gamey (yes, they are all video games, but you know what i mean). A new BIA, with the awesome graphics, lack of tedious weapon itinary stuff, and over long video cut scenes (RDR2 is the WORST for that, sooooo many video cut scenes to be forced to watch) would be epic.
Sequel to the original two games would be...#3 Hell's Highway. After a complete playthrough of HHwy every cutscene can be skipped using the Chapters menu. Not so in the first two games. Cheers.

People who think CoD is about a great story have never tried Brother In Arms.
CoD is a Hollywood Blockbuster, BIA is the mid-year HBO mini-series
Great review...Subscribed, my first time playing every in a few minutes, it's only $2.99 and I'm getting it because I only play single player/Campaign because of all the cheating over 50% of the time on a survey without giving your name, the number isn't right but that's shocking, I'll only play online unless Microsoft and other companies get a high tech company to stop this 100% and with A.I it's definitely possible but these game companies are greedy for money, period.
Gameplay is terrible in these games
People who haven't played original Ghost recon & original operation flashpoint can say this game is great , i bought all 3 together after reading great reviews about it but only game worth playing in this series is hell's highway. So disappointed, wasted lot of money
