How good does the Soldano sound direct? - Zábava
Great that you showed the process. Would like to see a start to finish, step by step demo. Literally, from plugguing everything in to finding the desired tone.

Amp sounds fantastic. I was skeptical about it only being 20 watts but it sounds like it has quite a bit of headroom.

Does this amp not have reactive load inside? You mentioned that you need to keep the master volume at zero to not damage the amp. So that means the direct signal is just preamp signal and cab IR and nothing through the power amp?

Thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate it very much. I'm actually working on releasing all of my backing tracks very soon. they were supposed to be released with my album but we had to make some changes to the backing tracks (regarding levels) so that people could play Over them easily.
Here's a question for you Jarrod, since the Astro Does sound incredible and bridges the gap a in a way with analog and digital. How do you say this compares to the Revv G20, which more or less is the same concept with two notes built in, and a good bit cheaper too. I've never played a Generator personally, so whats your thought on those two lunchbox amps head to head?

The astro has more channels, more options and more gain and overall better tone. I also prefer the cab sims on the Astro .
For what it's worth, the G20 sounds nothing like the generator
I understand being able to plug this in "front of house." All of my house parties I host are on the deck behind my house. Will this Amp work behind my house or is it only for front of house?

In the subject of DI amp tones, I've never played a tube amp thru a load box (OX box, Two Notes, etc). Let's say you have a Soldano SLO 100 and use a load box and load an IR and listen thru studio monitors, how different would it be from a Neural DSP Soldano plugin using the same IR?

Honestly I would say the amp through the ox would sound and feel better. I have used plug-ins years ago but now just record with my real amps through the ox and I'm getting some really great results, imho better than using plug-ins. You still get the feel and MOJO of playing a real amp and that's a big deal for me
Have you tried the headphone port? I'm interested to know if you could just use the head with a pair of headphones and nothing else

How this Soldano Astro-20 watts compare with the EVH 5150iii 50 watts?
Next question: in a live gig at a medium-size pub with a loud drummer and NO mic on my speakers, could this Soldano Astro-20 watts keep up with a loud drummer in terms of volume?
Good question...Regarding the venue, I'd suggest going straight into the PA. The cab sims are great!
I honestly like the options on the Astro better than the 50w stealth.

Unpopular question on this channel....lol....but...how is this at low volume? I wish it had an option to kick down the wattage like some amps do.
It's actually pretty good at lower volumes
I like the fact that you can just run it direct and have more control over the volume as well
@@TONEWARSgearshow is that because it has a "Master" volume, you can crank the "regular " volume....?
@@TheChicagoTodd Yes exactly, and when you hook it up direct, you turn the master all the way down and you can crank the channel volume as high as you need to
So here is the SERIOUS COMMENT!! After listening to this video a couple of times and listening to several of your "live streams with tube amps and mic cabs" I can't tell any difference. Not on my Dewalt blue tooth Industrial headset; not on my Home dual 8" active monitors. Bethany has this weird set of Bose Speakers that are suppossed to replicate "live sound." Neither she nor I could tell a difference. Revv. Deizel. Mesa. With the dual mic setup you use. Versus this Soldano. So is the issue the tubes are is this Soldano with IRs as good as your vaulted tube amps? Asking for Steve Shaheen. He is a headless guitar player in search of his magical tone.........Digital with IRs or Full Blown Tube Amps? Steve is also looking for a great deal on a headstock? He has several headless guitars and just wants great tone!! Help Steve find his missing headstocks!!!
Lol. Honestly, I think it sounds amazing without a real cab. I would be more than happy to record and go live with this unit without a real cab..
