The most interesting bit of this trip is how much the weather varies. I just think of Mad Max/scorched landscapes when I think of Australia.

300 days a year its in your face going south. It's so bad the Kingdom light house had to be put back on the mainland, 😮
If it's at your back it's 40degrees.
The Coorong is the current and achient beach with brackish water in between the Adelaide Hills, then finish, and the lime stone coast begins. The Coonawarra and Naracoorte are older beaches still.
If you keep going south, you start running into volcanos, then east into Victoria
Rode Death Valley (organised/supported) in 2015, awesome experience & landscapes.

There is also the mental calculations starting with "what if". Nutrition, hydration, break downs. You guys are doing great. I'm surprised you haven't come across companion riders yet but that may happen coming into Melbourne. If you had trackers I'm sure it would.

Even if you were running tubeless with the road tires, you would still be carrying spare tubes. So the only weight you would save is the two tubes in the tires. According to a five year old article on bicyclerollingresistance.com (worst rabbit hole site ever), the weight of a tubeless setup is 1 gram different than using a standard tube and the rolling resistance is pretty close as well. Apparently, I woke up today and decided to be a geek.
Hard to agree with those stats... Especially when previous tubes are Slimes (heavy as fuck). Also - carry one skinny spare tube plus patches.

Yes true, I will put it out there “tubeless” are another marketing scam!
Why you may ask?
Well sealant is the product that makes it all work, and you can put sealant in a tube, or a tubular and it works, so why run all that liquid mess free in a tyre. You need special rims, special tape and special pumps.... They also can be a headache to install, even if it goes smoothly it is more work than a normal clincher.
AND the big downside is..... they can still puncture, especially on road bikes where the pressures are higher, so you still need to carry a tube. Completely pointless! If they were full proof, fair enough, but there not.
Ride them if you want, but I put it out there, great for MTB which run lower pressures, rubbish for road tyres at higher pressures.

Question, how do you find the Lauf Fork? Does it add much weight to the bike?

You sweat out other salts hence magnesium and potassium plus salt are needed to avoid cramps. A banana and a half teaspoon of epsom salt in the bottle will do it.
Just a add on to the aperture question, when @ 2.8 and you follow the 180 degree rule (re:shoot at 60fps set shutter speed at 120) it is normally over exposed in bright sun with video (especial australia), so do you use ND filters and which one?
I don't use an ND, I just increase shutter speed, much easier to work from the numbers when you're riding and can't see the exposure on the screen properly

Can you show us the stretches you and Chris do pre and post ride? Francis is your bike set up better, more efficient-practical than your set up for Project USA? Flat tyre's alone this set up seems nicer.

I have been bitten through warm fuzzy thick gloves by ant In Australia's capital Canberra. At night it hurt woke me up in a state and swolled my finger..paranoid sleeping for the rest if the night even after I moved my bivvie bag. 9 years later I still the little fker. No where near the worst thing in my.life but memorable. Hate ants.
