Victoria most certainly hasn't updated the law. South Australia is from my experience the safest state for cycling. If you need a care package for the last day let me know. Ballarat lad here

In NSW drivers must (still some dickheads don't) give you 1m clearance when the vehicle is going under 60KPH and over that speed it is 1.5m and the vehicles can cross double white lines to overtake where it is safe to do so.

@@harleyguy7 No. Would love to but it might be a bit rude without an invite. Indypac riders came by my place and they had as much as 30-40 riders escorting them through Melbourne. Was great to see but some asked not to bother them.

Did you see the cylic fly 6 insta post, a driver drove up behind a cyclist waiting at a red light and jammed his wheel with his bumper. Beeped and said obscene language. This is what we have behind the wheel in Australia, it has a holden Commodore.

The law in germany also prescribes 1,5 min. distance for overtaking cyclist but really no one cares about it cause the police can't prove a violation against it. Feeling a car mirror hitting your elbow is the worst feeling.
