I am settling down in Indiana currently working with an agency for 6 months. Here is the inside scoop on whether or not this path is a good option for you as a new grad.

From what I learned from talking to ex-travel nurses is that applicants looking to apply for travel nursing jobs should get at least two to three years of acute bedside care experience. There's not gonna be any room for adequate training. As you mentioned, they expect you to do everything, and anything right away. Going in right away to travel nursing without any experience could be a liability on your license. While there's some exceptions, in general you'll get more training and orientation if you're a staff nurse.
Keep up the good work with these videos!

For sure! Looking back it would be more wise to get some experience before travel nursing because the training is crucial unless the hospital can guarantee that you’ll get some residency ahead of time which is rare!

    Hello 🙂
I'm going to take a postgraduate program, and I'm interested in being a travel nurse. Can you please explain to me the process on how to become a travel nurse?

What's your agency? Really hard to get a job here in Alberta without experience and I'm considering to go to the US

Thanks for sharing. Does your agency employs RPNs/LPNs from Canada?

Hi I’m the first nurse they employed from Canada, I am not sure if they employ RPNS/LPNS but I definitely would not recommend them to anyone!

When will you able to get green card?

    • @thatnursingstudent

Some agencies help with this transition but my current agency does not. If you want a green card you have to find an agency that will help sponsor you or work for a hospital directly (most hospitals will sponsor you)

How do you get taxed? Is it by the state you are living in?
