Don't forget, we also have in-depth, step by step, comprehensive, training of all menu options coming soon as well. This means advanced functionality and what every menu option in the unit does and how to use it for those of you who want to get the most out of your Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder display.

It would be nice to have a video to show how you can look at the Genesis files on your computer. Genesis Maps is a confusing site with not much in the way of in formation of what you need to do and/or what you may be able to do on the maps.
How to I go about updating my unit, haven't seen anything on your playlist. Thank you
For this display you will need a microSD card that is 32gb or smaller and go to the Lowrance website and click on the updates tab at the top and go thru and find your display and there will be a bunch of other stuff like manuals and such but at the bottom of the screen will be the link for the update. Download it and copy it onto the SD card. Then put the card into your display with it turned off and then power up the display. It will automatically run the update.
Early in your video. you open your Genesis files that are stored on the memory card and you show a list of files. How do you open those files to see what they are? If I click on one, I get a screen that allows me to "copy; rename; delete, or close". I don't know what those files actually show. I have a 2nd question: I had mapped an area on a river I fished last spring. When I opened the map and moved the cursor to the area pf the river we fished, I found my trails and my mapped area. If I delete the trails (have to figure out how to do that yet), will I lose the area I had mapped? I'd like to get rid of them so I could see the area clearer.
You can't view the individual files from the file screen like that. You can only view the mapping that's within them on your chart. And deleting your trail will not affect the mapping. If you go to the pages menu, select settings, charts, then waypoints, routes, and trail, then go to the trails tab, you can delete your old trails there.
How can I tell what those file represent if I can't open them? If I wanted to delete mapping of a lake I would never fish again, how would I know what files to delete? I would like to name them, but I don't know what is what.
@@nightanddaymarine8823 does sd card size matter more-so then just storage?
@@demonqb9 well it can only take 32 gb max in size and I would recommend using that size if u are going to save mapping files on it. But waypoint files are tiny and don't take up hardly any room on a card.
I added a memory card and downloaded map from Genesis Live...How do I load the on to my Hook Reveal? I have a Reveal 7TS.
Just got my Lowrance hooked up. Tried it for the first time and it was dark and strobing (blinking) really fast. After awhile it cleared up and started working, but would go back to strobing. Any ideas what it could be? I can send you a video if need.
Generally if a screen is strobing, it's 1 of 2 things. Either the display is not getting enough power or there is an issue with the display itself. First thing I would do is set up an overlay for the voltage. If it's showing less than 12v, generally less than 11v, then power is the issue. If not then you probably have a bad display.
Is there a video on how to copy the waypoints from a Garmin (and others) to the Lowrance Hook Reveal?
Is there a fast way to copy waypoins from other units? Thank you.
Do you have a vedio on how to transfer waypoints from humminbird to lowrance hook reveal 7 ts
Your best option is to save the file from your hummingbird as a .gpx. This type of file is usable on the Lowrance. Ita the easiest way to do it. However it only carries over the name and gps location.
@@nightanddaymarine8823 thank you
Hi, I have the lowrance hook reveal 7x, I'm wondering if you know how I can export a route with lat/long and depth to a csv file. Is this possible?
If your display has a SD card slot you might be able to use some free software online to do it. There used to be some really old software that Lowrance had a long time ago that did this but I'd have to do some research to figure out what it was.
Is there a way to contact you. Hope you can solve my problem.
I have a hook seven . Its useless. maybe it it user error. lowrance recommended a new transducer. It is still useless.
Is it just not picking up the depth?
