  • www.macmixing.com - In this video tutorial I will show you guys how to get the most out of your audio / video production. Having a sufficient amount of RAM or Memory will greatly increase your production work-flow on your Mac, and make it run MUCH FASTER. I got a wild hair on me somewhere are decided to upgrade the RAM in one of my MacBook Pros. In this video I am taking this MacBook from 4GB's or RAM to 8GB. Luckily MacMixing.com's inventory could use a tutorial like this so I decided to film it and share it with all of you. Upgrading your MacBook memory WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY! Apple strongly encourages upgrading the RAM or HARD DRIVE within your computers. So much, they actually include it within the User manuals you can find at the link below. I hope this was helpful and make sure to BACKUP your information as I cannot be held responsible for anything that may happen to you computer or the information contained on your hard drive if a mistake happens due to improper care when upgrading your RAM. Thanks again guys.
    HERE IS A LINK TO THE MANUALS SECTION OF THE APPLE WEBSITE. FOR ALL THE DIFFERENT MODEL LAPTOPS. THEY SHOULD ALL BE SIMILAR TO THIS VIDEO.

    Can someone help me? I have a MacBook Mid-2010 that is on its last legs, so I bought a 2012 (I hate retina, already tried it) and was going to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM, so I purchased it. However, my old Mac (2010) has the same RAM DDR3 10667 that I just bought. Would it be possible to just transfer the memory I have here to my new Mac or would it be too worn out/unwise to do it? Because if theres a chance it'll malfunction then I'll just install the new one but if not I'll just return this. Thanks in advance for any help.

    • @mae1712
      @mae1712 Před 6 lety

      Ram doesn't really wear out... unless its been used improperly. (overclocked)

  • @sarajkerr
    @sarajkerr Před 9 lety

    Question though. My RAM, once removed, did not have the same "sticker" as yours. I have had my Mac for several years and purchased it at Best Buy in their Apple Department, could this by why? The company name on the old RAM I removed says "Hynix" Korea 05 by "Eco."

    • @Mike913123
      @Mike913123 Před 9 lety

      Mine is the same Macbook as in this video as well. The original RAM that came with my mac is Hynix Korea 09. I think Apple uses different sources for some of their internal components. I just upgraded to 8GB RAM and there is a noticeable difference in speed when working with multiple applications. I also just replaced the original battery. Wow, it lasted almost 5 years!! The HD cable failed and I had to get that replaced...thankfully it wasn't the HD, though I am going to replace the HD with an SSD in January. Together with the RAM upgrade and the new SSD, my mac should be blazing fast!
