    I grew up in Eastern Canada, and we hauled anywhere from 2 to 15 miles away so we always had two of us on the wagon stacking the wagon full so we would get more bales on it! You learned fast to always keep one eye on the kicker!

    My brother runs a 575 and a 316 baling for horse farms generally. Both are fantastic balers and both are kicker balers. The most we put up in a Vermont summer was 18,000-19,000 bales while both working full time jobs. He does most of it, I just help when I can.

    I grew up in northern NY on a dairy farm. As kids my cousin and I would be riding in the wagon of a setup like this, dodging the bales as they were kicked out and stacking them in the wagon so it would hold more bales.

    I bale with a BC5070 and thrower just like what is in the video. We make feed for our horse farm and small sales operation in CT with it. I ran it for years with a nice vintage Ford 9600, but upgraded to a used John Deere 7320 a couple years ago. We have a fair amount of hills on the farm and I will often stack the wagon as I kick the bales on, so the size of the 7320 is nice to hold back that weight.

    I started with a NH 273 pulled by a IH 656 back in the 80s. Moved up to a 315 behind an 806 for more capacity, then got a NH 316 that was in much better shape. All of them had the belted throwers. Baled alfalfa and straw. Retired and sold the 316 last year.

    @jamesciolkosz8827 Před 4 lety +1

    Today I still use a small square baler and I don't bale as much small square bales as I did years ago but I still have my International 445 baler with a IH 15 balethrower on it and I use either my IH 560 diesel tractor on there or my International 826 tractor on there and that Baler has some awesome capacity!! There's many times I had to push it and hurry up get the hay off before some rain storms in the forecast was coming and as long as you keep the top of the Bale chamber clean from buildup of chaff where the nodders are located, that Baler will outperform anyting back in its day!

    Farm I worked on as a kid got one of these balers with a kicker. I do believe it was a New Holland. The Farmer used a 1206 International to power it. We built 2 bailing wagons that spring. We thought it was so cool now that we didn't have to stack the bales on a wagon and then unload to restack them in the barn. Didn't make any difference as the farmer could bale twice as fast and we never got out of that hot haymow. Just kept on changing the wagons. Used an M to pull the hay wagons. Good times!

    Beautiful area. What town us this located near? I grew up in the Sheboygan area

  • @fraudsarentfriends4717

    You still have to unload the trailer manually. Having all the bales just thrown in the wagon and high sides on the wagon makes it much more difficult to unload.

      My first job at 12 years old was unloading this type of wagon and stacking the hay in the barn.

    Nice video! We use a kicker/wagon setup too, but with a John Deere 348 with #42 pan kicker. We have videos on our channel baling hay you might like from our small farm in the mountains of VA. Thx!
