Yeah we have AC in our cab tractors. I've spent a lot of time in the hay mow but I've never had to ride the wagon and stack them. I've had to stack in the back of my dad's truck one while my older brother walked beside the truck and threw the bales in
All the years that we had cows I can say as a diehard John Deere guy I wouldn’t own a baler other than a New Holland I had a 575 when I sold the cows in 2011
They make good square balers. We had a 570 That still had the ford oval on it. Got that in 1989 and had that one for many years. This one is 10 years old now
Hey Mike Andy got me watching your videos now. He's an alright guy 🤣 don't tell him I said that. How do you like the 5070? We've been running a 575 for years. I see they still can't keep that bottom kicker pan on. I bent ours back and used big washers to hold it.
We've gotten some nice rains. The corn has exploded but they had just been sidedressed with nitrogen about 2 days before the rain so they were prime. The lawns and hay ground is greening slowly. They were burned so bad it's almost like they have to come back out of winter dormancy again. But at least it rained
When you are driving the tractor, you keep side bumping a lever. Is that like high/low in that gear? I've only ever driven Allis Chalmers so curiosity is getting to me. Thanks Bubba

When I used to help a farmer, they used to stop about 30% of the way into a trailer, and move about 8-10 bales right at the front of the trailer (basically right across the front, 2 high) which used to get another ~10 bales on per load. A lot of wasted space up there.

Honest question why does everyone on CZcams use such huge tractors for baling hay especially when diesel is over 5 dollars a gallon it only takes about 35 horsepower for a small square bales and around 75 for a round baler im seriously interested in your answer because mathematically it doesn’t add up you’re losing money happy new year
Thank you for your question and I hope you have a happy new year also. I cannot speak for everyone on CZcams but I'll tell you why we use our 4055 on our baler. Straight from the New Holland website it says the minimum HP for this baler is 75. We have a 4040 that is around 90-95 HP that would probably bale ok on flat ground but the ground we bale have a lot of hills and some of those hills are pretty steep. I don't think the camera does them justice. These 5070 balers really do pack the hay into the bales and when you have a wagon pulled behind loaded up I want a tractor in front of the baler that will control the baler and wagon while you are going down the hill. I understand diesel is expensive but when you factor a tractor getting out of control and pushed down a hill and doing damage to the equipment, surrounding area, and or injuries to whoever is baling I would say that is a far greater cost.
