Guess I was the lucky one. I had my ducks in a row. I arrived 4/1/24, had my PRA appointment the next afternoon 4/2/24 with Mary Rose, I was taken around to do the bank, blood draw, picture, etc by Thelma. I then left for another island. I was approved 4/16, returned to Manila and took my oath 4/29/24. It can be done. My SRRV is the MILITARY COURTESY version so I had to deposit only $1500. As I said I was the lucky one.

Rich I just wanna throw my 2 pesos in to say this vid is 100 frfr.
I'm 1 month away from retiring to PI 🇵🇭 on a SRRV.
The anxiety is real! For me the process of the background check & apostille (ah-paws-steele) were my main stressors.
I had/have been watching Steve & researching this for some time (years) before I was ready to start the process.
I contacted Mary Rose & she is 100% the professional & knowledgeable asset & ally to hand walk you thru the 'minefield' of issues.
I only have the stress of arrival left. But at the same time I'm not worried because I've listened to & followed the right ppl. & I understand that human error can always be a factor. So if an issue comes up, I'll just handle it.
TYVM sir! I think anyone pursuing SRRV should she this vid. & know there are good professional ppl to help you that are willing to help because they are good ppl. Remember to return that kindness.
Good Luck to others applying or thinking about it.

I didn't know about Steve before we came here. I had to get my SRRV and my wife needed to get her Dual Citizenship also. So we rented a condo in Manila and started to work on both. We filled out the application and turned it in. They gave us all the things we had to do and we started with the Fingerprints at the NBI. We took it one by one. One thing that they didn't tell me about was that I didn't need to have a Polices Clearnce from the USA. When I went to the NBI for that they looked at me,sked how old I was. I said I was 75 and they sid I didn't need that. One less thing I didn't need to do. We finished both our requirments in about 2 months.

I completed my SSRV 1 year ago through Mary Rose, with Steve's guidance. The whole process was easy for me. I obtained a fresh DD214 from the National Archives ( online request, 3 week delivery). The Apostils was the only slight sticking point since states won't Apostile federal documents. It turns out that some states, including Washington state, will Apostile a cover statement from the DD214 recipient that attests that the DD214 is a true copy. This is readily accepted by the PRA.

Hi Rich, I am in Cape Town, South Africa, and going through the process of applying for the SRRV Classic with a pension. I have been planning this since 2017, so I have done my "research", and visited the PRA office in Makati, on my "look and decide" trip in 2019, to ask questions. I am currently using a PRA approved agent. to assist with the process. I am waiting for my Police Clearance Certificate to be "apostatised." However, the frustration for me is, South African pension companies do not provide pension certificates, like in the USA. I have submitted confirmation letters from the pension company, commissioner of oath signed letters from my financial advisers, SA revenue services tax certificate, all indicating that I receive a pension, but these documents cannot be apostille. Bottom line if these documents that I have submitted to the PRA for pre-approval are not acceptable, then I have a problem with being accepted for the SRRV, this is my "anxiety" big time!

If you already live in the Philippines under a tourist visa for the past 2 years, do you get the police clearance for SRRV from the Philippines police or does it default to your home country? The regulations state the last place of residence whether that be your home country or any other country. So my question is whether living in Philippines under a tourist visa makes you a resident of Philippines for the purpose of getting a police clearance?
