I believe everything Dawn is saying. She was trying to look out for everyone but they were not on board for various reasons. They intended to out Dawn once she started talking renegotiating the contract period.
She's absolutely right! Although I was not present for any conversation, En Vogue was/is so criminally underrated, each of their voices are exquisite... Together, they are simply magical. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Congratulatios, Jason. This was a great interview! For years everyone has been giving Dawn shit about breaking the group apart. It's excellent that she's the getting the truth out there. I'm a hardcore EV fan since 1990, but it is kind of disapointing to find out that Maxine, Terry and Cindy did that to her. Like she said, they were sisters, a killing machine as a group, had they stayed together, they would've continued on to greater success. Since Dawn left (and then Maxine), the group just wasn't the same. I remember buying the EV3 CD back in 1997 and it just wasn't the same, don't get me wrong, I still wore the CD out listening to it and to Masterpiece Theatre but it was never the same again.
Dawn’s story has never changed, she was done dirty, period!!! It’s sad that she had snakes around her It’s so weird because NONE of this has come out from the other members from EV so with Dawn talking about it it comes off messy, but i don’t think Dawn is trying to be hurtful she’s simply telling her truth 🤷🏾♂️ I never knew Terry dated one of the producers but it makes sense! She herself never mentioned it either so that makes me think she has something to hide by not mentioning it I stand with Dawn but i still support EV
Personally think she should let it go. Way too messy. I don't think she had to leave, but she felt she had to. With hindsight I am sure she regrets her decision.
@@apc4y but ultimately we have no idea if her staying would’ve been good or bad for her, we’re biased because we live EnVogue but I’d rather the ladies be financially stable and comfortable, if they aren’t mentally sound they can’t be their best as performers, she could be quiet what’s the point? She deserves to tell her story
Lost my Lucy Pearl cd in NYC while moving in early 2000s. Just ordered and received Lucy Pearl cd because of Dawn Robinson. Waiting for the book gurl. Wish we as black women would learn to love on and support each other no matter what 💘
This was such a great interview and I learned a lot about dawn and envogue. I hope dawn bounce back from all of this she seems like such a beautiful and great person.
Wow! I didn't know this was going on. I just happened to think about envogue and saw a new person. I literally dropped my jaw and right away i needed to find out what was going. 💙💜🖤🧡💚 *for the record * loved* this group of individuals.
I don't understand why Dawn would want to do a solo album but not go solo as an artist 🤔 And I believe Sylvia put in a call to Dre and said🤚🏿to Dawn's solo act
This was an awesome interview. I would love to have asked Dawn how did the original 4 come together and to sing background for Steve Wonder's "What's the Fuss"? 😊
Dawn got Fans that's 100 behind her. We waiting for a move beyond these podcast interviews. Reach for yours Dawn. Lucy Pearl was a good look, but it didn't change Dawn's career, especially not financially. The better decision would of been the RCA deal. This would of put money in her pocket to keep her house. After 20+ years there is definitely something else out there for Dawn. Everybody that Dawn is speaking on is still Moving. It seems like she's lost in time. As they (Envogue) continue on there journey Dawn is not mentioned. Keep moving forward Dawn. LET the past be your motivation for your future. I Wonder do Dawn realize that this has happened to hundreds of artists. A lot of the artists that have came out about it or still not talking about it 20 years later. This has been going on since the beginning of the music industry. It's not Raphael fault Dawn lost her house. TO be successful you have to take responsibilities for your own mistakes!
@@stacyr4768 🤦🏽♀️ You mean regret the whole relationship, or regret still being loyal afterwards? She seems like one of those people that’s loyal to a fault, which means she never truly matured as a woman. One lesson I learned in my 20’s is not to ever allow myself to love or be more loyal to another person than they are to me. I don’t care who it is. It only leaves you drained and mad at yourself for doing so in the end. 🤷🏽♀️
Her story is so authentic and FYI she is stunning.
I don’t believe you don’t understand what “authentic” really means.
Great show with one of my favorite singers....I really pray that Dawn and Maxine get their RESPECT for what they helped to build
Team Dawn 💯 And Terry was the one who was late for the En Vogue audition...B.S.!!!
Dawn came across very well in this one. More balanced than in the other interviews that she's given. I truly hope she finds peace.

Yessssssss, these women are not just singers. The coming together of their VOCALS were a collaboration of pure success and genius.
Speak your truth!
Jason, I really like your music knowledge! I’ve watched several of Dawns interviews and unfortunately many aren’t prepared. Great job!
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching !

I’m eating this interview up! I don’t know how I missed this especially since EnVogue is my favorite group
Thank you for watching Michael

Simply a Great Interview. En Vogue will never be same without Maxine and Dawn.

this woman is too beautiful for life. my gawd if only they'd have had longevity.
FUCK I hate the music business!!! There's no En Vogue without Dawn and Maxine. No respect for Terry and Cindy.
What does Dawn have to lie about? Bye trolls
I REMEMBER THEM ON ARSENIO HALL SHOW,
I REMEMBER DAWN SAYING THEY HAD TO ENCOURAGE HER TO COME INTO THE GROUP. . .
does anyone remember this?
I would love to date Dawn

But he shouldn’t have promised to hold her down if he knew he wasn’t gonna do it.
This crab in the bucket shit is crazy
I love you Dawn You're a beautiful woman, but every shade of lipstick is not for you
Supa Groups usually spell:
"Doom" wit a capital "D"
Why'd Maxine get booted??
That was a long time ago.
Blue 💄???
I could listen to dawn all day, her cussing is so 😍
Hilarious
Is Terry and Denny still together today, and why did they kick Maxine out 2 years later.
Absolutely not. According to Dawn, he married and had a child with someone else .
@@stacyr4768 🤨 That makes me even more curious as to why she’s always been so loyal to him. I just don’t get it.
@@CodyCole80 Someone on social media asked Terry if she regret that decision and she ignored the question.
