    In this video, I cover the different roles that serotonin and dopamine play in our brains. I talk about the different effects these two neurotransmitters have on mood, anxiety, sleep, and more.
    I'll explore the topic in detail and provide you with a clear understanding of serotonin and dopamine pathways, their precursor, and symptoms of low serotonin and low dopamine, as well as high serotonin and high dopamine. You'll learn exactly what serotonin and dopamine do in the brain.

    would love to hear your analysis between the relationship between serotonin and oxytocin ! My hypothesis is that low oxytocin down regulates serotonin. also, I find that whenever I take a serotonin modulating supplement or even when I used to take ssri, they would work and then it skyrocket my depression and irritability after a while.

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  Před 25 dny

      @@fractalizedspiritz Yes estrogen is all linked to the serotonergic system. Low estrogen -> lower serotonin. Support hormonal balance -> support serotonin levels.

    I just spotted something ion the chemical structures on the diagrams of Serotonin Dopamine and neurepinepherine you flashed on screen at the 1 min point. Their Amino functional groups all showed the NH2 as NH3, is this correct and another way of depicting it, or was it a mistake in the diagram or something?

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  Před 2 měsíci

      Good question.
      The presence of NH3+ instead of NH2 is the protonated form of the molecule. In aqueous solution, amines like the one found in serotonin/dopamine/noradrenaline can accept a proton (H+), turning the neutral amine group (NH2) into an ammonium group (NH3+).
      Serotonin, dopamine, and NE have ethylamine chain susceptible to protonation under physiological conditions. They can exists in both forms but the protonated form is more common at the body's pH which is around 7.4.
      So you may find both forms in the scientific diagrams.

    • @iaminkaland

      Otherway around.
      Meat-based protein and nuts are more likely to raise dopamine
      Carbs in the evening (or any time) without overwhelming amount of BCAA-proteins (red meat) would be good for serotonin.
      ADHD is more typically linked to low dopamine levels in the attentional brain networks

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  Před 8 dny

      It's probably to do with the overstimulation of the receptor which disrupts the functioning of the stress circuits that causes these symptoms. Serotonin modulates almost all organs too so it's probably a complex interaction between the autonomic nervous system and the basic functioning of organs. I'd assume - haven't looked into the research yet.

    how would you naturally boost serotonin and dopamine in ADHD brain?

    • @iaminkaland
      @iaminkaland  Před měsícem +1

      Love this question! 👏
      For ADHD, natural ways to boost dopamine are the most effective: exercise in the early part of the day especially.
      Diet plays a big role, too. It should contain enough amino acids (protein) and avoid sugar and ultra-processed foods, which affect dopamine receptors.
      I'd also do attention training in some form. There's tech for this, but certain forms of meditation work.
      Regular circadian rhythm is also important.
      There's actually a great video on this topic:
      czcams.com/video/At9Zhpfm_Cg/video.html
      For serotonin, sunlight exposure in the morning, during the day, and at sunrise.
      Social relationships are also important.
