Lake Jacomo Spillway into Blue Springs Lake

It has been over three years since I had an opportunity to film our local spillways in action. The rains just haven't produced enough water to overfill the lakes in the past few years. This year has been different. We have had a very wet late Spring into early Summer. The weather has been loaded with rain and hammering my hometown area for weeks. In a four day span, we have received over nine inches of rain. The lakes are now bursting and the spillways are flowing!
This was filmed in the morning hours on July 4th, 2024. We received four inches of rain over night. Four days ago we received five inches of rain. As a result, Lake Jacomo is flooded and discharges excess water over its spillway into Blue Springs Lake.

I was kayaking down below the spillway yesterday. I was getting pretty close to the waterfall. Someone saw me and got concerned enough to call a park Ranger. I was told to leave the area, lol. I was having to much fun. Making a video about it now. Post it soon.

Aaahh, when you change to half speed. I have drone footage of this and I am trying to figure that out.

@BlackOps-Ent my only regret is that I didn't have my drone with me. I was able to kayak down below the spillway yesterday. Until the park ranger asked me to remove myself, lol. I'll be making a video of that today

@benjaminanthonymissourimuscle yes I have before. Many people like to fish the spillway after a heavy rain. There were two guys there fishing while I was filming this video.
