I live in a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. There are several 'open to the public' parks and lakes where I live, thanks to the Missouri Wildlife conservation programs and the Missouri Corp. of Engineers. This is where most of my content has come from.
I bought a GoPro camera a couple of years ago for one of my float trips to record the beautiful scenery of the Ozarks. We have some wonderful 'natural' places here in Missouri, and I wanted to share my experiences in those environments with others. I decided to invest my time and energy into that process. That's what got me interested into video and photography.

When I began uploading videos to CZcams, I had no goals in mind. It was simply a platform for me to use as a library to store my videos. So with this video, I returned to where I began. Just making a video. For me. Enjoying a nice August day out on Lake Jacomo, in my kayak, listening to some of my favorite music. Enjoying it all.

Mallard Ducks at Lake Jacomo / Summertime in Missouri

The heatwave finally broke and I was able to get my camera gear out to the lake and get some video of our feathered fowl friends. Here is a group of Mallard ducks swimming / flying in from the middle of the lake to the banks to feed on small crustations in the shallow grass beds. Looks like they are enjoying a nice evening summer salad to be sure. Cheers!

It was fun seeing you enjoying some well-deserved free/me time doing what you love. Of course I enjoyed the scenery, esp. under the overhanging trees. I'm too old to appreciate the music, but I'm so happy you have this escape. Enjoy for every moment you can!
I havent floated this creek in 20+ years. Whats are the easiest access points? Is there a section u would recommend tbis time of year? Im not a new floater but its been a while.
@kyleReaperX Hodgson Mill to Warren Bridge is the only float I've ever done on the Bryant. The river has changed drastically in recent years due to some high floods in the area. The Bryant River is not a spring fed river like the northfork. It relies on runoff to have a good flow. This isn't the typical time you'd want to float that river, but it has been a 'wetter' than normal summer. You might get lucky. If you do decide to give it a go, have fun, and good luck to ya! @@dennisschullerjr1720 Your very welcome & I most definitely am enjoying the summer, but my body is feeling it for sure. I wouldn't trade it for nothing though! I went wake surfing for the first time ever last Sunday at 54 years old. It was so awesome. I'll have to post a short of it.
@GAM-TIME So jealous! I'm 53 and would jump at the chance ! I did gymnastics in HS and rode a skateboard for 10+ years. I'm sure I could do it! For now, I'll have to be content just chasing those wake boats with my Kayak to ride the wake, lol I would very much like to see the video!

Haven’t seen the eagles for a week or more. Wondering if they moved on
@RobertStewart-pd5ld I was out filming at the southern marina on Friday evening and saw one adult fly over me. It was missing quite a few feathers on the wing, and I didn't recognize it as one of our parenting adults. It is in the months of August and September when the eagles tend to move on to other locations in our area. I've noticed quite a few less bird species in the area with the extreme heat.
I have never watched a video with a 360 camera before. It's so cool that we can look around in your video! Thanks for sharing

Wild Souls had a hand in getting one of the juveniles rehabilitated and back with parents last summer. This is beautiful to see!! We named the juvenile Sunsrise. We have a video of the release and as soon as the juvenile took flight mom and dad immediately came flying to him in the sky and returned to the nest. He was in rehabilitation for 5 weeks!
What an incredible journey their young lives have had so far. I hope they continue to grow & prosper! Thanks Dennis for taking us along the ride.

I was heartbroken when the nest was destroyed, but what an uplifting and beautiful sight it is to see the two surviving eaglets soaring the skies. Thank you so much for a much needed happy ending to what could have been a terrible tragedy all around.

@Staci.missBeasleyscarefarm I was under the shelter house filming this with my Sony A7 III with a 200-600 mm lens, with a 2x teleconverter attachment. That is how I am able to get these shots. In one of my early videos from this year, I display my camera setup. The juveniles are very active and very vocal right now. Listen for them to cry out, and you will be able to find them. When my wife told me she had something she wanted me to see on TV I wasn't expecting this! We had both thought we saw the eaglets near our sailboat at South Dock on separate occasions but dismissed it. We were so emotional and happy to see this. How in the world did they survive on the ground for so long? That will always be a mystery I suppose. But you are right, Dennis---a true testament to the parenting. What an incredible story of survival. Thank you so very much for sharing this and your time and patience filming and editing this. I live the music as well. Just incredible!

My cousin Allysa is into this sailboat racing and moved to Florida from Kansas City. That camera is neat that you use compared to a normal GoPro but they don’t seem to get good on the drones ☺ Have a good day Dennis

Yes it is a blessing. All 4 of them flew over me and talking a few weeks ago. The mom and dad landed on the dead tree and formed a heart. The babies landed behind them. So beautiful. 💞🦅💞

@andreafinke8734 Hello Germany! 👋 Hope you're a Chiefs fan ( American football team), my Hometown team. I hear we have a lot of Chiefs fans there. About the nest being rebuilt: The Rangers and staff at the Jackson County / Lake Jacomo Park where the nest used to be takes a 'No Hands' approach to the Wildlife that resides in its acreage. We try to let Mother Nature take its course without human intervention. That is why there will never be an official web camera or any official names given to the Eagles to try and keep them from becoming too humanized. We can only hope 🙏 that the 2 adult eagles will return next mating season and rebuild somewhere close to the same area. Thanks for watching and the feedback. Cheers!

I have enjoyed seeing these bison whenever we were in that area. It feels like such a privilege any time, but with young to protect you were extra lucky! Loved watching the babies, esp. getting out of the way when the big fella approached. Thanks for sharing.

OMG, have I got some news to report! Yesterday about 7:30, we saw 4 eagles at the same time. 2 adults and YES 2 juveniles. Saw them all clearly from one of the boat docks nearest to them. Juveniles were perched together and both were flying at times. Heard calling too. Pretty sure both survived the fall of the nest somehow. And saw a raccoon who makes a regular visit to the trash cans about 9:30
@RobertStewart-pd5ld This is wonderful, and I will be there tonight with my camera to try and capture what you've been seeing. However, there is a chance that you are seeing are the 2 adults from Blue Springs Lake with their 2 juvenile eagles. Once eaglets fledge the nest, they are boundless and will travel. I believe the 2 adult eagles on Blue Springs Lake are related to the 2 adult eagles in Jacomo. I've always thought they were some of the first offspring to the jacomo eagles. They may have flown over from Blue Springs. That is just one scenario that could be happening. Like insaid earlier tho, I do plan on spending some time at the southern jacomo marina tonight and this weekend. Thanks again for your dedicated vigilance and giving us all some hope. Cheers!

Great comparison shots. I actually enjoy all the seasons at the lakes we visit but green season is definitely my favorite. I typically refer to the 2 seasons brown season & green season.
