This looks like a city that people actually desire living in. I've read that until the mid-'80s, Amsterdam was dominated by car traffic, like most other big cities, until they decided that was no way to live - and they are apparently right about prioritizing bike paths, walking, and buses.

i've been to so many cities in the world, and I just can't find any as beautiful as Amsterdam - love the walking tour!
Ik op werk hokje komt van 1persoon om dat vaak ruzie komt best kokje kom dan kan anders met werk geen ruzie en uiteraard van hokje met deur in dan kan anders mensen niet afzien van alle mèt hokje radio in geen tv in omdat werken is doe komt met sport van kleedruimte gaat verdwijnen kom plekje hokje in van 1 persoon van omkleden voor sporthal en gymzaal.zwembad omdat voor ruzie komt dat is beter van iedereen

Living here my whole life, I never really truly understand the beauty I have been witnessing for 30+ yrs and I have lived in every neighborhood here from east to west to southeast north literally everywhere.. as someone that enjoys being inside..I’m just realizing now that I need to start taking walks again.. and enjoy it more, while we still can.. thank you for this ❤

When I watch walk tour videos on CZcams, I basically focus on people more than building and what is there around.
For Amsterdam, I noticed that people don't smile, they don't joke around with each other.
????? I notice a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Not a highly strung over the top atmosphere like many tourist cities
Everyone focused on their own life and that's it, I don't have to go around smiling at strangers like wtf

I noticed there're very few cars, most people walk or bike. Overall, I think daytime is a lot better than the evenings. Most people have images of this city during the nights.

Very interesting and well filmed. Credit to you. I was a frequent visitor to Amsterdam until my last visit in 2004.
It is good to see the infrastructure and painted buildings being so well maintained.
However the vibe it seems has totally changed.
I am not drawn to return at all and this is based on numerous walking tour videos viewed recently.
As for the vile individual who thinks it appropriate to spit on the ground outside the Grand Hotel Amrath at 53.43, I truly despair.
Seriously, what is wrong with people today?

We feel that our tours are much like travel books - a momentary snapshot of destinations that are bound to get stuck in time. For better or for worse, cities are constantly shape shifting like living organisms. Some find the unwritten future exciting. Some, like us, find comfort in the nostalgia of the past.
@@AtmosWalks Agreed. I first visited Holland (as it was then referred to) in 1982 on a School Trip aged 12. Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam where my Aunt actually lived.
Perceptions change. Love remains. If only for the memories.

I've been here, all the buildings are extremely beautiful, most people at stores knew english so it was billions of times easier than other places to interact with people. The massive train station seen at 34:57, (it might be a museum building or something too, I don't remember its actual purpose), hearing bell sound for the first time, it amazed me a lot, the sound was beautiful. (I'm a muslim so it's a rare experience) I was on a tour so we couldn't stay for long at amsterdam but I still really loved the place, it's amazing
