I Stay In A ICE HOTEL 👉 czcams.com/video/kTHEsN3JaOs/video.html
I couldn't stay there
08:18 those bolts are hinged, if you undone it a little more it swings away from frame to allow it to open.
The ice hotel is safer! You nearly got your ass kicked for a burger! No it's scaryville!!! Bet it's haunted too! Lol
This is my worst nightmare! I wouldn’t and couldn’t have stayed there. No, thank you! Full credit to you Tim for trying it out.
Why? 😊
@@TangerineTulip - Same here. To me, it tickles all the wrong nerves. Just watching him on that walk way.... nooooo.
Same here. I would never stay there and it was tacky as hell
Nah, it was cool! Not for me but tingles the spine save for that bruiser in the burger bar
Yea no thanks lol
It's like a horror film setting! Spooky, empty, creaking lift, weird decor, no people, a scary bar, the TV doesn't work! The view was great!!! OMG I wouldn't stay there if it was 30 quid a night😆😳😳🤔
You've summed it up perfectly! Horrible!
Looks quite fun to me!!! I love the odd!!!!
Definitely the lack of any staff, restaurant or breakfast was very offputting. It must be a nightmare for those having to clean those rooms.
No,no,no,no, …..you couldn’t pay me ….especially alone , bleak ,desolate, dystopian ….😳🤷🏼♂️😱 ….and I would have taken the fizz 🍾 ….😳
Not to mention all those levels,
lifts and stairs. I'm fairly fit but
all that's just too much to just
negotiate
Its an interesting idea, but the whole place felt dirty.
Stay safe Tim.
What the staff has to do to maintain and clean those rooms. I wouldn't work there ever.
I've been following your channel for a few years now Tim and I can honestly say out of everywhere you have stayed, this is the one place I have liked the least. Massively overpriced for what you get, the room mostly looked cheap and industrial, and the TVs and hot tub not working just gives the impression that the owner doesn't really care. I'm not familiar with Amsterdam but getting started on by some bloke while you were sat in a restaurant minding your own business isn't a great advertisement for the area where this hotel is either. I would honestly take the Canary Wharf Britannia hotel over this any day of the week.
Tbh that can happen anywhere.. just happened to be here
@@WalkWithMeTim That's true. It doesn't put me off Amsterdam but I'll probably give the crane a miss!
Good chance the guy wasn't even Dutch. Someone working there should have been intervening.
I don't think you got the idea... If you want normal comforts you take a normal hotel room. The idea of this is that you have a special EXPERIENCE. If you don't have the imagination for that, just don't go there...
What a weird place! Worlds most expensive condoms! 😂
The owner had a great idea to polish a turd and pass it off as "luxury hotel".
Woke hipster type of mindset..
@@Masterfighterx meh, sounds more like something a Trumper type person would do. Case in point, check his polished turd shoes he's currently selling.
yeah, but he didn't succeed😄
It would be considered pure luxury in mad max
What are you cretins talking about? The zealotry of people is astounding.
At £1200 I feel cheated and ripped off - and I wasn't even paying.
Wow that price is ridiculous
What is that price in US dollar
@@indioloco About 1400 bucks.
Oh hell no! €1300 just to be assaulted, have no lighting, no tv that works, no breakfast, creaky old lifts that barely work... all the nopes that ever noped from me! Suddenly Britannia hotels don't seem so bad 😂
@CraftyWitch1990 you forgot the biggest insult...no wifi. All the noes from me too!
Those lifts would put me off straight away 😂
You took one for the team here mate. The place was a dive. Like a low-rent Stringfellows Hotel prototype that never came to fruition, and for good reason.
I'm surprised there was no rubber doll included to go with the lube.
LOL it's freakkkkkin horrible
Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. Very Epsteinish too. They do like their filthy art and very much into voyeurism which would explain the bath tub at the window. Yuk 🤮
He’s near the sex capital it’s definitely going to be 💯 % tacky.
@@charm8167 Amsterdam being a sex capital? Thailand is way more booming nowadays
Sweet Mother of God. If I was there, I'd of slept in the back of the Citroen.
I never thought I'd see anything worse than a Britannia Hotel. 😁
Ha ! I could'nt have slept or relaxed there for fear of falling or tripping up, not much room to move around. Also the nightmarish monkeys, giraffes etc just too disorientating, like being in a cranky movie. Tim was amazingly cool considering..🥺
Funny you mention Britannia hotels. I'd rather pick those than this place 😂
I wondered how often that bedding was washed.
Now we know what Britannia needs to do - find a bunch of junk laying around, put it in their rooms, and charge excessive amounts.
@@ShannyLounow there’s an idea 😅
Tim, I thought your Iceland experience was frightening -- but then I saw THIS! I would never have imagined that you'd find a place even scarier than having to outrun an erupting volcano! And it's all so creepy: those tiny lifts with double doors like a prison; the eerie emptiness; the unpleasant decor; the aggressive bully; the nonfunctioning wifi and tvs. Glad we got to see you safe on the ground again at the end, whew! Amazing what you're willing to put up with for your followers here, and we love you for it. :)
Well Done Tim it’s a great vlog but it’s a very strange hotel and for me, despite the retro decor and the so called quirky fittings it just looks dirty and messy. The outside lift is enough to put me off. How unfortunate you also had to deal with a possible violent situation. They should have paid you to stay there . The price is outrageous !! Thank you for sharing
I couldn't go in those lifts. The height was bad enough but I couldn't do the tiny lift. Well done
Good set for a dystopian horror film.
I would use the stairs! The lifts, no.
These prices are absolutely mad! Expensive is an understatement.
Oh my word, my biggest nightmare. No way could I have stepped into those lifts.
Mad Max sprang to mind.
Well done you
Great video! That Trumpet you refered to is known as a French Horn Tim too!
It's as if they've been around every thrift store, jumble sale, and car boot sale in Amsterdam and decorated the place with random items they've picked up at each one. It's a mess, and certainly not for me.
There are lots of designer pieces in there!
This is what hipsters do!😂
That "hotel" is the stuff of horror films!
That's why If it were in my means....I would go instantly!!!! Cheers!
The "trumpet" light is actually a french horn. 🙂
This always comes up on the suggestions page when I go to Airbnb, and I'm always amazed at how ridiculous the price is. Tim kept saying that you get a great view of Amsterdam, but you don't - you get a mediocre view of crummy derelict docks. Anyone who'd pay over a grand a night to stay there wants their head examining.
Alex Polizzi would have a coronary over that décor! The 'party' favours on the night stand, well that spoke volumes lol. Maybe a place for quick fun, but not for a romantic night out . But to each their own.
Flaming heck Tim. That is an outrageous price! Can’t believe you had that altercation in the pub. Stay safe mate.
I wouldn’t pay six euros.
He didn't really expand on what happened in the pub, sounds like maybe he was taking photos.
Thank you so much for this video, Tim! I have been living close to NDSM for over 17 years, so I know this crane very well (from the outside ofcourse) and ever since it has been turned into a hotel I have been wondering what it looks like on the inside. Plus I love to see cities from above, especially my own city!
The area looks creepier than it is though. Fun fact: during King's Day the whole of the NDSM is one big festival area with the crane right in the middle of it. I have been dancing right underneath it.
With all the artsy stuff & the vegan resturant right there, I get a major hippie vibe off that area.
Is that accurate?
I felt really bad for you in this video Tim, firstly that you had to do those horrific tiny lifts alone, secondly that your TV didn’t work, would of given you a bit of company in such a deserted place, and thirdly that some idiot tried to start a fight with you. I couldn’t have stayed there if you paid me, the heights and the claustrophobia, i was so relieved when you didn’t walk out onto the walk way at the top of the crane! I did love the decor of the room though! Good on you for doing this alone Tim, you’re a very brave man! I hope the idiot from the restaurant didn’t spoil this trip too much for you.
Thanks Megan, yes the walk way at the top would have been safer if there was a safety harness
Agreed!
It is not a deserted area. It is the NDSM in Amsterdam and probably the hippest/coolest area of Amsterdam. Full of restaurants in all classes, full of bars, in the summer full of festivals, terraces and parties. There is a Graffiti art Museum, a Skatepark and in one of those halls is a kind of art-village with a lot of ateliers with people working on all kind of art, besides there are tons of new apartment blocks. Especially with good weather thé place to be. The ferry takes you for free to the Houthavens (where I live), which is an interesting area to visit itself and another free ferry takes you within 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, to the Central Station itself.
Oh good grief!! Just no on every level 😂 x
Brave man, Tim. I don't think Bates Motel and Norman could have been any scarier. I would not have gone up there for any amount of money and full credit to you for doing so. That said, it was a video I couldn't stop watching. Well done!
You was bleedin' robbed Tim pal. 😂
If the Minibar is free, take the lot with you, its all been paid for!
Where do i begin Tim😮,im lost for words because ive never seen anything as ridiculous as this crane accommodation 🙄,..it doesn't make any sense, feels like sleeping in a op shop...im so very sorry about yr restaurant experience with that guy( a bully )..i hope u are home on safe flat ground by now..thanks for yr video ..😊
The only thing I liked was the restaurant you walked out of! Finally, a menu I liked the sound of. I found the crane and the surrounding area rather creepy and intimidating. I wouldn't have felt safe there.
Fr
I'm not going to lie after the issue in the restaurant I can't say I did either
I would have ran !
Same! Walking through there at night, would terrify me
@@WalkWithMeTim But Tim, that first restaurant menu had baked fish and they had wild boar stew! That wasn't vegan or vegetarian!😊
Timmmmm what on earth! No no and no to all of it 😂 Thank you for doing it for us
As a Dutchy, I'm sad to hear you ran into such an aggressive person at the restaurant. We're not all like that. Hope this experience didn't scare you away for good. Would love to see more videos of you visiting hotels here in the Netherlands.
Ive been all around the world and Amsterdam was the only place someone tried to rob me, right in a crowded area too. Still a great place though and lovely people
I am so sorry for your experience in that restaurant, and the horrific prices...greetz from an Amsterdam habitant ❤
Just booked this up as a surprise gift for my Grandparents for 2 weeks holiday! 👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lovely! Bet they'll love it 😂
😂😂😂
Fantastic! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Will two condoms be enough?
Tim, you should also visit the other crane hotel in Harlingen. It has working controls so you can rotate the crane to whatever direction you want and change the view!
Wowsers the NYC grifities I remember as a child back in 85 still haunts me and this does it. Greetings from Texas!!!
Wow that is weird 😂 wouldn’t drink all that wine and try and go back downstairs haha
Thanks for the video, now I know what to "avoid" while in Amsterdam
The restaurant has multiple locations and the food is really good. Its not ok he alwas assaulted ofcourse, but it would be a shane if you didnt went to the restaurant if you do stay in Amsterdam. I do recommend going to the restaurant, in the ciry centre there are also 2 locations!
@@hugovandermeer1566 i mean yeah there is def better cities in NL to visit, but somehow ams is the place to be 😅

This looks like Saw 11. Jigsaw is around somewhere.
Thanks for showing.. In 1972 I worked at the NDSM final testing of electrical installation of the oil tankers built here… Came back two years ago and saw this crane.. though I am not keen on graffiti littered buildings and so on… Would not fancy a stay at this place… price wise never… enjoyed your video nevertheless … keep safe.. cheers..😊😊
That was a seriously scary place. I would also have been worried about the car parked on its own at the bottom. It looked like being in a rather dodgy area and all that horrible graffiti.
03:26 That sound that you heard was from an art installation called "In Tune" by Henk Schut. It is essentially a big tuning fork in the middle and the sound of it that you hear out of those speakers
05:16 I like the random ginormous creditcard in the right corner
I didn't realise it was still in situ
My husband is a musician and when he heard it he said that sounds like a tuning fork! Wouldn’t want to listen to that all bleeding night though! 😂
The 'ladder' in the bathroom is possibly to hang towels on - they do that quite a lot in 'trendy' hotels in Thailand
Yeah but the trendy hotels in Thailand are a million times better than this!
Love your video's Tim, I like it that you're not biased in where/how you present your video's. I like the editing and your presentation. We're just starting out on CZcams ( well my fella ) and I watch a few video's to learn more.
Back in the day when the place was a dump, I climbed the crane with my mates we sat at the tip smoking joints and relax, all free lol...how times can change...
oh Tim i loved the vlog but hated that place , what a weird dump ! an absolute horror show . The furry bed and condoms was absolutely minging . You are such a brave man ! I wouldn't have paid 30 quid lol
Normally I love your videos and the places you visit. Even if I personally wouldn’t stay in some of the hotels, it’s interesting watching you go through the experience.
This one made me extremely nervous and apprehensive. Staying in a swaying crane; nobody else around; sketchy neighborhood and getting harassed in a restaurant? Why was the guy touching you? Was he drunk or mad that you were on your phone? None of the staff at the restaurant did anything to assist you?
And at that outrageous price, I would expect someone there 24/7 as well as the TVs to work.
As I said, I normally love watching your videos but with all of those issues, I’m glad you only stayed 1 night and very glad Gabby wasn’t there.
Thank you for exploring all of these interesting places. Please stay safe and well Tim.
Tim, it's not the place you will want to stay with your family that is for sure. Very dark place just like Amsterdam. Thank you for this video.
what do you mean, "Very dark place just like Amsterdam."?
Have you ever been here at all?
@@claudiavalentijn1457 Honestly, Amsterdam is kinda a dirty shithole to most others in the world. It's all the drugs, prostitutes and high variety of non-Dutch people that give it its unique flavor. Maybe you like it, maybe that's your cup of tea, but it's kind of gross to others. You can't reverse your skewed demographics now, it would have been nice to have it be the Dutch in their own native habitat, but it's like any other melting pot. A whole lotta nothing but grime and social disfigurement. That's why Asian countries are so popular as tourist destinations. They aren't socially disfigured.
I really like that quilt pattern on the little chair, Tim. I found it cozy looking. 🙂
God those lifts give me the right willies. That bed is a bit Delboy as well.😂
considering what Tim found on the tray, I wouldn't say willy
😂
Gosh, this scared me. I was scared for you. If you got stuck in that lift! What if you couldn't get a signal on your phone to get help. Not for me but thanks Tim for being brave and showing us. For that price the Ritz would be far better..just the fact there is no one around if you have a problem.
10:52 is my fav bit! Very humorous 😂
Omg you actually saw my comment! Thank you!
another classic timmy video love it keep smashing these videos tim, me and the wife loveee it!
OMG I was scared all the way through that vlog My tummy was doing somersaults !!! Well done Tim 😊
Thank you for doing that so WE DONT HAVE TOO!! Oh my word 🤦🏻♀️ Very interesting video 😊
Hear hear !
I’m about to book ten days nine nights in one of the top 5* all inclusive resort hotels Turkey has to offer for virtually the same price! I realise this is an extravagant fun themed Hotel and I did love the interior, but I’m glad you did it, so that I don’t have too.
The wooden "ladder" in the bathroom is a towel rail tim 😊. Great place .thanks for sharing 😊
Yikes! at that price it wouldnt be my 1st choice of unusual places to stay, but I enjoyed seeing it from your perspective.Night time views are stunning...Quite unique & eclectic place to say the least!
I'm not easily spooked but this hotel is too creepy for me! So isolated and empty, the decor is so strange, it looks somewhat uncared for..... freaked me out a bit just to watch it!
Thank you for sharing your hotel stay here!!😊😊

Yes, that was the creepiest hotel I've ever seen!
Hi , great video , just stayed at one of the sea front chalets at Corton Coastal Village after seeing your video and had a great time , I live about 40km from there and never even knew the place existed so thankyou for enlightening me ! . Love your videos .
omg I couldn't even finish watching this, it was freaking me out every time you went in and out of the elevator. I was so, shall we say 'intrigued' by the decor that I actually Googled to see who the heck owned this thing. Absolutely eccentric decor.
Very different but a big fat NO from me 😂 those lifts scared the bejesus out of me 😱 Great vlog as always Tim 👍
Is it really safe? Great views but SCARY. You are very brave - well done Tim!
It’s the Titan submarine of hotels
This place is known for throwing raves and music festivals, hence the isolation. No, it is not safe. There is a small bar area where the spiral staircase ascends. This 'balcony' is not closed in and a man was killed after falling over the edge back in 2018 during one of their parties. Hearing the creeks of the crane, that clearly isn't upkept, I would not be surprised if it started to simply rust away, especially being next to the salt water. I'd also be concerned with the cleanliness factor, or lack thereof, and would have walked out and stayed somewhere else.🇦🇺
@@krisushi1 Salt water? You must be kidding... it's 24 kilometers inland...
@@weeardguy Take a look at Google Maps and you will see that it is situated right next to the North Sea. The only pieces of land in between are the West Frisian Islands that cannot keep out all the salt from the North Sea. Therefore the water is most definitely salted. Why would you think that a crane that is sitting on a wharf would be 24kms inland?
Creep out and not sanitary. And what if so mething happens, like you fall off the platform? No one and nothing around to know it!
just BINGING on these reviews this week, so glad i found this channel !!
I have worked most of my life up Jetty cranes, never ever would I have thought there would have ever been a hotel room up one.
What a great Idea , what a great way to make redundant machinery a great location , recycling at it`s best.

You are one brave man Tim
Well what can I say this is really the strangest hotel I've seen Tim.Watching this was like a strange fever dream! I like it but it manages to be somehow creepy and cosy at the same time. Love the split level room and all the crazy places you can visit on this crane....but what a nightmare for a vertigo head like me!
Amsterdam but not as we know it! I Understand the travails of the solo traveller to Europe but your restaurant experience seemed really unnerving.
A really strange but very entertaining video. . Thanks Tim!!
Just loved the hotel. What a cool concept! Adding it to my list for the next visit to the Amsterdam. Thanks for capturing it so nicely.
Btw, that ladder in the bathroom is to hang your towels/clothes:)
No way would I stay there , the area looks very dodgy, I would not of left the car there , glad you got out safe
I'm not sure fish and wild boar are strictly vegan food!
It is not vegan, it is avoiding bio industry, animals kept in horrible circumstances. Wild boar and wild fish live free.
Thank you for sharing an interesting hotel stay!😊
Well, no, I would not stay at this hotel. That is not the type of settings that I would stay in!! And that noise you heard is probably from the steel support beams react from the wind, cold and heat. Also, wait support of the steel floors in that room could be reacting as well to you and your wait walking around there. Yes, just how wooden floors react to people walking on top of the wooden floor areas. They skrewk supporting new wait. Again, steel does expand and retracts in this air environment. And then the noise could have been another guest staying in one the other rooms. So, again a very interesting hotel to be in. But I could have taken that hotel cost or charge and gone to a regular nice hotel for about $145.00 to $165.00 for two or three nights. And then see the sights in downtown Amsterdam along the river walks. Then go out to dinner to nice restaurant from me touring the city or from a referral from the front desk/concierge staff for a couple of nights. Also, go to a couple of museums and possibly a nice night club and/or bar or pub for a drink or two. Again out and about around the city. And still have maybe $400.00 to $600.00 left over from this here hotel charge of over $1600.00 That is just me!!😊😊
Superb….looks stunning..right up my street… but I write this as I watch and haven’t got to the cost yet….
Tim always when coming down steep stairs like you had to come down backwards that is the safe way. Hights don't bother me but when watching them being filmed it makes my tummy turn. very interesting hotel .
5:03 I like the carpet and wallpaper but that art work. XD
7:30 Tetanus bathroom. :)
Lol 😆 I also find the bathroom weird and I think they should make it better
Tetanus has nothing to do with rust, it's just a common misconception. The bacteria causing the tetanus infection is in soil/dirt. So gardening without gloves is a real danger no one thinks about. Stepping on a rusty nail can cause a sepsis in the worst cause, no tetanus shot can prevent that. The cause for the sepsis isn't the rust on the nail, rather sepsis causing bacteria that's on the nail and it's forced deep into the tissue by stepping on it. That bathroom will do absolutely no harm to anyone, because the rust itself is not dangerous at all.
@@Chris675R Lol gardening without gloves is dangerous, I wonder how did our ancestors survived years ago :DDD

Agree. 👍🧡🤔
Absolutely loved the bathtub. I would want it all to myself! ❤😂😊
great video. Near-vertical staircases are a delightful feature of accommodation in Amsterdam, though that one looks particularly scary (especially after a drink or two)
