    I like that I can rekey this cylinder. I don't like the lack of a keypad. Also as I have installed a few smart deadbolts for others, this one is the first that when setting up did not completely retract the bolt, making it a little confusing. But that was the Baldwin version of this lock.

    First, I would like to compliment you on your voice and clarity of the lock information. I like all the features of this Kwikset lock,but I too would like to know if an attempt was made to enter my home. I think all the other features are great. Thank you and I hope to see more digital lock tests on your CZcams site.😁

      @LocksmithRecommended  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jenawolfe655 I mean to say that you cannot tell if the door is open or closed. You can only tell if the lock is locked or unlocked. Having a locked lock on an open door is pretty useless.

  • @RiceEater483
    @RiceEater483 Před 3 lety +1

    I like that it has a fingerprint sensor. But I wish more locks would allow for some kind of card or use NFC from our phone to unlock the door. I've worked several jobs where they gave us a card key to get in and I wish I could have something like that with a smart lock at home.
    Using the NFC on my phone would be even better. Not sure if that would be a security risk but I just really like the idea of doing that. Too bad most smart locks only have a keypad with even fewer having a fingerprint sensor.

    Can these locks be bypassed using a electronics jammer?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  Před 3 lety

      Can't say I've tried, but if you jammed the electronics (disabling them), the method of opening would have to be mechanical. So it would essentially just be like a regular deadbolt at that point.

    I just bought & installed a weiser smart key deadbolt advertised as grade 1. 1 hr later I see a CZcams video showing someone forcing a smart key lock in 10 seconds. Is there a deadbolt that is actually secure and isn’t featured on a “how to defeat” video?

    • @LocksmithRecommended
      @LocksmithRecommended  Před 3 lety

      The smart key is great for some thing, but it has that one major weakness you saw. The easiest thing to do if you enter and leave your home through a garage door is to install the product we demon in this video on your exterior doors:
      czcams.com/video/N-xM4bBOeSk/video.html
      It will make almost any lock pick and bump proof. We sell it on our website (link is in the description of that video).
      If you enter and exit the home through the door you want to secure, it won't work. Then your next option is a high security deadbolt. They're not pick proof, but the skill level required to pick a high security deadbolt is beyond all but the most skilled and experienced. They are expensive. $100-$300 depending on brand and level of security.
