    You're a legend, Rich. I just got one of these secondhand and needed to do these mods. The guy that had it did try to rectify the "nose down" attitude, but he wasn't very successful. You explained it beautifully and it's been extremely helpful. Thanks heaps dude, this is invaluable information for this airplane. Big thumbs up from me. 👍👍😊

    This modification is very helpful. I have seen two MIG29 failed to takeoff and ran into grass at the end of run way. Thank you very much.

    This is stupendous!!🤣😂. The mod is definitely needed for smooth rotation on take off and hitting the mains first on landings. I hope that Pilot Ryan does it to his as well(all of it I mean). In the groove 'n smooth is always the right move!😉😉 AirHammer out!!

    How beautiful these retracts are at close up.....niceeee.
    Your changes will be the first I’m gonna do to my plane, even before assembled. Presumably the gear can stay in the fuselage without the rudder and wings attached. Thanks man 🙏 great video !!

    This is a awesome jet! I love this jet including the way it takes off and lands with just a simple 1/4 spacer mod. I picked up from home Depot for next to nothing to bring the nose up on mine and it did the trick. As I mentioned in one of your other videos this much work isn't needed in all models. With that said great video for those that will need to do all this to make it work..

    The wheel wells look like they need to be reamed out a little bit, cause after you shorten the back landing gear by 5mm the wheels don't fit into the wheel wells correctly. They look like they aren't seated flat.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  Před 4 lety

      The main gear do tend to snag a bit on that corner, especially if you cut the strut to short. I cut mine right to the limit. If you file down that corner, the wheel goes in fine. remember there is vibration, buffeting from wind & play in the strut mechanism that keep it from getting caught up in the well. Mine is working fine.... If you want, you can probably remove less, lets say 4mm from the main gear and the tire will be less likely to touch any part of the wheel well:)

    Did you take the strut pins out from the main gear to cut them down or did you cut them while they were in the plane ?

  • @jayrermars8493
    @jayrermars8493 Před 2 lety +1

    Wouldn't it work if you place the cut off parts from main landing gear and use them on the nose gear?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  Před 2 lety

      That's not a bad idea! that would probably work OK:)

  • @ddfwaj
    @ddfwaj Před 4 lety +2

    Great video! I will definitely have to do this MOD for sure. I notice you use a blue block of some sort on your nose gear when it's sitting on the table. I am assuming this is so the plane does not roll off the table. What is this? I am also looking for something to help keep my planes on the workbench. Thanks!

      It was just a wheel chock that I bought at the local hobby shop many years ago.

  • @EDF_FANatic

    What diameter collar and carbon tube?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  Před rokem

      Any that fits. the collar was 6mm thick. The carbon tube can be a wood dowel or anything that fits in the tube.

  • @SM-yr9kb
    @SM-yr9kb Před 3 lety

    What about changing the front wheel with a bigger diameter?

    • @SM-yr9kb

      And cutting a bit of foam on the wheel compartment.

    Not what you said

  • @crashkorey

    Way to much work. Don't have the time. Hopefully they will make changes on v2 then I'll pull the trigger

  • @ctvxl

    Stuff like this is why I don't own any Arrows planes. It seems there is always some major deficiency in otherwise good designs. Its a shame...
