My Coast to Coast Walk - Day 6: Shap to Kirkby Stephen (via Orton) - 20/06/2019

- Welcome to the sixth instalment of my 13 day journey across England following Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk.
As you will see if you watch, I try to take in a few of the higher routes along the way, including Haystacks on day 2, Calf Crag on day 3, Helvellyn on day 4, Kidsty Pike on day 5 and into the Mines between Keld and Reeth on day 8.

So day 6 sees me leave New Ing camp site early and cross the busy M6. I cross Crosby Ravensworth Fell making a quick detour to the Black Dub as I do. I pass through Sunbiggin and pass Sunbiggin Tarn. I then took the detour into Orton to visit the chocolate factory shop there before heading towards Smardale Bridge and past the lime kilns over Smardale Fell, eventually getting into Kirkby Stephen late afternoon where the luxury of a B&B was awaiting my arrival.
I have included everything that I want to remember from my journey in my videos, I hope that it is of interest to those tuning in too.
