  • Welcome to the seventh instalment of my 13 day journey across England following Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk.
As you have seen if you have watched the previous videos, I try to take in a few of the higher routes along the way, including Haystacks on day 2, Calf Crag on day 3, Helvellyn on day 4, Kidsty Pike on day 5 and into the Mines between Keld and Reeth on day 8.
I did the walk for charity as you can see, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust. As I upload this, I have raised over £1000! A fantastic effort from all who have donated so thank you all from the deepest depths of my heart. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/pipes-hikes-c2c while there's still time.
So day 7 I set off from my B&B nice and early and start the day with a tough climb up to the Nine Standards Rigg, this of course being the setting for my introduction clip on my films. From here I follow the boggy red route but manage to take a little detour on to the green route... From here we just follow the Dales into Keld stopping by at Ravenseat Farm, home of the Yorkshire Shepherdess for refreshments on the way. I then pay a little visit to the waterfalls in Keld.
I have included everything that I want to remember from my journey in my videos, I hope that it is of interest to those tuning in too.
To see a map of today's route, head here: explore.osmaps.com/route/2426... but you will need to be a subscriber to OS Maps in order to view anything more than a basic map.
Finally, I don't get paid to do these videos, I make them because I enjoy doing so and they make for great memories to look back on in years to come. However if you enjoy them and want to say thank you with a small tip, you can do so at buymeacoffee.com/PipesHikes
The contribution may go on a hot drink or a lager, but most likely it will be saved for future adventures to put to film.

What gps do you use, and have you shown it in any of your videos?

Hi Stacey, I have a couple of GPS devices but the one I used for the C2C was the Garmin Etrex 30. It’s quite a light, compact device and simple enough to use when you get your head around it so ideal. I was very fortunate to be gifted the 1:25k OS Maps for it a few years ago off a friend, though I previously used maps from TalkyToaster which I would highly recommend if you don’t want to fork out for OS Maps. I don’t think I have actually really shown it in any of my videos no, I could probably do so quite easily. I haven’t done a video during the lockdown but was thinking of doing a little something so can easily add that in while I’m at it. On a side note, I just wanted to say thanks, not only for subscribing, but also for being my 100th subscriber 🎉 Granted it could easily drop below 100 again but nice to actually hit that figure 👌🏼
