- In April 2023, I set off on my biggest adventure so far: A 1600mile long hike all across Britain from Dunnet Head in Scotland to Lizard Point in Cornwall. I'm going solo with my rescue dog Otto, (wild) camping along the way.
Come along for Days 52 to 54 where we continued on the Pennine Way (southbound). These days were definitely among my favorites of the Pennine Way. The landscape was so vaste, remote and incredibly beautiful. In addition there were some big highlights like High Cup Nick and High Force, the wildflower meadows along the River Tees and the highest pub in the UK!

Greg's Hut - Dufton (9.3mi/15km)
Dufton - Middleton-in-Teesdale (21mi/33,8km)
Middleton-in-Teesdale - Tan Hill Inn (18mi/29km)
I’m a bit behind on posting these videos (filming and editing while on trail is quite a task!) but I'm uploading new videos every Sunday and Wednesday now so that I can catch up quickly and be more up-to-date.

This video, like all your excellent videos, really conveys the atmosphere of being out in the hills. I've just had my lunch watching this video while sitting at my keyboard at work (yes, bad idea, I know) but I almost feel like I was sheltering from the sun and wind under a dry stone wall. You have a magical way of conjuring up somewhere that sells coffee in the most unlikely places!

brings back great memories from a few years ago when I completed the Cape Wrath Trail and the Pennine Way almost back to back. Two very different walks but both stunning.

Another great video Elli and Otto. It looked beautiful. Oh dear, another one for my bucket list 😂. My goodness, getting over that wall carrying the backpack and Otto and then back over for the camera😅! I really appreciate all the effort you put into making a good video. I love the honesty box idea and the kindness of people leaving food/drink. I didn’t see any of those from the bike ride experience. Keep walking. xx

Better the sun than the rain, I hope. I think it's been an average summer - some hot weeks but mostly warm and overcast (90%+ cloud).
Does Otto enjoy the heat ? He really looks like he's enjoying himself 🐾

@@ellihikes I have a family member who lives on the outskirts of the peak District and some parts of the Pennie way . Been there loads of times . Maybe we will go back to lake District or back to North Wales all depends on the weather. Hope you and Otto are well take care Chris 👍
Liebe Elli, was für eine Freude, deine Videos hier zu entdecken. Ich plane gerade den Offa's Dyke Path nächstes Jahr, stieß dabei auf ein Video von dir und dachte, "die zwei habe ich doch schonmal gesehen", nur kurz, aber dafür deutlich in Erinnerung bleibend. Ihr seid kurze Zeit nach mir am Tan Hill Inn angekommen. Ich weiß noch wie beeindruckt ich davon war, dass du Equipment mit dir trugst und dass man dir gar nicht angemerkt hat, dass du dich gerade durch einen sehr heißen Tag bewegt hattest. Als abends im Bunkhouse der Wind so lautstark rauschte, dachte ich noch, wie das wohl für euch Camper sein muss, die Fläche war ja absolut nicht windgeschützt. Schön, nach dieser Zeit zu sehen, auf welchem klasse Projekt du dich da befunden hast und mit deinen Videos noch einmal die eigenen Erinnerungen aufzufrischen. Ich wünsche dir und Otto allzeit schöne Touren!
Whaaaat!?!?! Irre, wie klein die Welt manchmal ist :) voll cool, dass du uns wiedererkannt hast! Bist du den PW nach Norden gelaufen dann? Der ODP ist mega, der gefällt dir bestimmt. War so begeistert, obwohl ich echt teilweise super blödes Wetter hatte. Fand ihn ehrlich gesagt auch viel besser als den PW :) viel spaß beim wandern!! I was walking the Pennine Way at the same time as you last year. Unfortunately my feet suffered with the hot weather and I had to stop half way but I plan to try again next year. Do you struggle to maintain your weight while walking? I find it really hard not to loose weight and therefore on long trails I can get problems with my backpack rubbing on my hips and spine.
