IPhone XR with 720p display
People: no big deal i will buy it
Mi a3 with 720p display
People : why tf can't u put 1080p display in 2019 it's unacceptable
Lol man seriously ,i dont wanna argue but only one thing , better materials make a better display , even if it is 720 p the xr display was way more amazing than 1080p poco display , search for that video man i saw it a long time ago, where random people were asked to select either display of xr or poco
Apple components are way better than mi , that's it
@@20saivasanthchilagani89 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Apple buyers never care about specs, cuz Apple .. and they assume its the best. Which it never is
@@MichaelBelgium 👌
People are so nitpicking. They want 1080p and amoled and everything for cheap price.
Syafiq Kaiser having anything under a 1080p phone these days as a “midranger” (what they’re aiming for) is a joke.
It pays not to get hung up on numbers, the numbers make it sound like the display is worse than an iPhone 4 or Galaxy S3, that's definitely not the case.
While ytou can see pixels if you hold the phone close to your face, at normal distances you can't, and the brightness, color, contrast, power consumption and response time are all improved.
if u use your phone outside on your sim would u watch it on 1080 rez witch happens more often *meaning any streaming or youtube*
personally i don't watch stuff on mu phone over 720 anyway
The A3 screen is right on the border of being what's considered a "retina" display, if the resolution gets any finer, the human eye lacks the ability to resolve more detail from the image.
At that point the differences between other specifications of the display become more important to the picture - color gamut and balance, response time, contrast, brightness etc. and those are all in line with flagship displays.
Yes, It's not the best display in the world, but when showing video content it's actually quite good as long as you don't hold the phone too close to your face.
For me, the biggest letdown is the lack of support in Xiaomi's Android One variant for the ultra bright mode that the display is capable of.
If you had to pick, which one would you rather ? High resolution or LED screen ? Which has bigger impact on visuals ?
I agree, to have a winner all they had to do was include a full HD screen. Even if they had a conventional finger print reader on the back, it would've been fine.
So Right. Although I have mi A1 but I think its alright to update to a3
They have a mi A3 pro
@@sanjaykurseja2368 No
@@sanjaykurseja2368 No
I prefer the reader on the back like the redmi note 7, it's much faster
At the end is classic.. "so if you this phone isnt' for you, just buy something 2x more expensive and I am sure you will be happy" lol.. not an exact quote but legitly what she suggest.
No NFC? Dealbreaker
Do you have to use the fingerprint scanner on it? Worried about Google taking my print as well to build up one of the 5000 data points they have on people. Saw a vid of them in court as well and they judge was asking them about and it was like the CEO of Google. N the judge is like "You make 100 million dollars a year, it's an easy enough question."
Just got the phone today and honestly the 720p resolution is not that bad especially coming from a 1920*1080 441ppi screen.
What's not said in the review is that this phone also supports AptxHD, LDAC and more.
Which phone were u previously using ?
@@quintinbrass9439 Remdi 4 Prime which was kind of a bummer when Xiaomi stopped supporting it. The SD625 is still a potent processor til today.
I've got a Redmi Note 4, 1080p 401 ppi LCD and SD 625, been absolutely solid til this day running custom RR rom. I'm considering getting the mi A3, everything about it seems great but there are so many mixed opinions about the performance and the display haha.
@@Jacques80120 just an update, I still have no issue with the Mi A3 even with the 720p resolution. But you might want to check the Redmi Note 8 Pro that just came out if the resolution bother you or even the Realme XT.
@@carlod803 Thanks for the update, I think it should be just fine. I like the fact that it isn't as bulky as a lot of phones are today. Oh yeah, one last thing; how's the accuracy of the fingerprint sensor been? Also lots of mixed opinions on that online, I can live with it being a bit slower but accuracy is my only concern.
Guys, i saw the phone irl And it komiks great, you can't see diference between HD And full HD, it look great as other phones !
Had been waiting for this Mi A3 review since 3 weeks , happy to watch this
No , don't go for it ,i have been waiting for a month actually, sdc 665 isn't a big improvement over mi a2 and not mi phones in india, if you really want a stock android version, they lack carrier aggregation no 4g+, and they are going to release it around 19k thats going to be a disaster price (19 k in spain) you have a lot of options of stock android in that price range ,think again
Your reviews are nearly perfect .very short very brief but covering all aspects of the phone.
Love ur website makes me sound so smart when I read the phones specs
I just got my new Mi A2 and immediately upgraded to Android 10. Love it.
It was a pleasure to watch this review: concise, professional, full of information. Not to mention the beautiful presenter... ;)
Got this phone under 10K ($195.5) 4GB/64GB Variant and so far everything is smooth. Pixelation is not really evident unless if you really want to see it but ik very most ocassion you won't really notice it. Camera is what I'm impressed. Sony IMX586 is the same sensor used in OnePlus 7 Pro, Asus Zenfone 6z, Redmi K20 Pro etc. Though the chipset is 665 not 855 but the level of image processing is near to flagship level. GCAM is the solution. Battery life is awesome. It lasted for almost 36 hours. Stock Android is really an advantage. Currently installed the September security patch. Everything was perfect on this phone because I got this under 10K normally in my country (Philippines) in physical store the base Variant is priced at $235 so it's much cheaper
where did you buy it?
@@rosierose553 Online Store Lazada
@@TalkingShinobi Oh thanks for the info!
Yo! I found one on lazada under 8k(nearly 9k) hopefully its legit, it has 4.8 stars out of 27 reviews
@@mistahcoco3930 wow! Pls. update me if it's legit, I might get one hehe
It seems now every A series phone after A1 has a weird, dealbreakery gimmick to it.
A2 had two versions, either a good screen and bad cameras and vice versa. For A3 I wonder where the hell they even came by 720p screens in 2019, there must have been a leftover warehouse or something. Given how rare they are, they are probably even more expensive.
I don't think it impacts battery performance as much as this review implies. A50 managed 98h, with nice 1080p, high contrast screen, putting the difference in a margin of an error.
I wonder what the A4's gimmick going to be. Non-expandable 16gig storage or 2000mah battery?
Nice video, GSM, as always
So Right. I have mi a1 and I have been keeping a keen eye on the new a series but there is always some little thing missing.
All things must be taken into account. From the chipset to the fact screen is amoled. Saying it's unacceptable is ignorant. But what do people know nowadays...
@@stefanra1237, being unacceptable just means that you don't accept to spend a certain amount of money for certain features and quality. I don't ignore anything. And I don't ignore the fact that each of the latest phones is worse than my current one at one certain important aspect.
I was sure to order a Redmi Note 8 as soon it's available, just for a better camera and using GCam. No GCam with Mediatek, so if anybody is ignorant it's Xiaomi who decided to target at idiots now.
Samsung still make phones with 720p AMOLED display such as Galaxy A30s. And Xiaomi sourced it's AMOLED mainly from Samsung.
Mi a2 lite
After using this phone from almost a year now (bought it in August last year), I must say that the Mi A3 is still unbeatable in this price range. I have been using it as my only daily driver, and the only issue I found irritating was its late Android update, which was promised to be faster. And honestly, the screen is not a deal-breaker at all, I just turn the brightness into the max level and that's it, just a bit power consuming but the battery life is awesome. Other than these it offers everything and serves more than that.
What about Nokia 8.1? Still think the Mi A3 is the best? PS I was thinking of buying one second hand to check if Android 12 custom ROM can be run on it.
I am following your website since 2012 and love to subscribe your you tube channel.
Great review, thank you! I’ll see it on person!

Precisely. All these people that complain about the 720p resolution are just looking at the on-paper numbers without experiencing the real phone.
@@danyakbar8497Thanks for the tip. I ordered one a few days ago after test using my friend's and it will be my first Android One phone. Would've preferred a 1080P display and rear fingerprint sensor.
The xiomi note 7 is a must BUY!
Chicken :v I’ve heard it overheats like mad
I hate rear fingerprint sensors, somehow they always manage to be difficult to find when you want to put your finger on the sensor, but easy to hit by mistake when you don't want to perform one of the half-dozen undocumented gestures mapped to the reader.
No i will stick to a 720 and in screen
The only thing that i hate is the android one

Thank you for a nice review! Too bad that Xiaomi decide to go for such compromises with CPU and display... camera looks quite promising.
Superb review ! Great job.
My baby Angie is back 😍😍😍
720p looks nice......
only in 5inches phones or below thou because it will look like shit and blurry if the screen gets bigger..
1080p at 5.2" is so nice
You mean ppi not dpi ?
Don't be fooled by specs or the resolution. The PPI (Pixel Per Inch) is what matters. The iPhone XR has a low resolution compared to alternative products, but it has a high PPI (because its over 300 so its hard for the human eye since its a small screen so the screen is sharp) and the colours are pretty nice specially for an LCD.
720p is nice when it has high PPI. Like 330 ppi.
@@MrIDGAF yes. The iPhone 4S has 480p display but it has a PPI of I think 360 or 330. Its nice
I'm still rocking with my M1 A 😁 But seriously, recommending a non-Android One / stock Android device as an alternative misses the mark for people who like myself purchased this phone for the stock Android experience. If it's not a stock Android device, I don't pay any attention.
Thanks for the review. I'd have really liked to see how the camera does in close-up shots. I have the A1 and I didn't like the camera performance in that aspect.

A 3rd sequel for bringing back the reputation... Didn't hit the mark. They should put the same features, resolution and screen from CC9

great review! points well taken
There's no such sing as the MI9 CC. There's the CC9 and the CC9e. This is identical to the CC9e, not the CC9, which is the Mi 9 Lite. The screen is also not 6.01", but 6.088" (ie ~6.1").
I don't mind 720p, as long as I can have higher frame rate while moving up the graphical settings.
But damn the Redmi 5 has better audio quality with wired headphones connected
Really? Have you tested the audio quality?
@@arayramadhan8340 I have one lmao
@@bennybouken how about the screen? Any noticeable difference with your redmi 5?
@@arayramadhan8340 Well obviously there is because the A3's got an OLED display while the Redmi 5's got IPS.

They should've made the phone smaller, 720p on 5 inch displays is fine.
But the ppi ist close to a 5 Inch 16:9 screen
geeks want it bigger
It would have been too small for me
Well.. my phone have 1080p screen but i'm always using it on 720p, because it saves some battery and maybe performs better
I bought this phone last year and very satisfied with. Still fluid, the experience is really simple, and no issues overall, i do recommend it, well balanced and good in every aspect.
bought this one for my GF. honestly, anyone complaining about the resolution its a "tech spoiled" to me.
yeah they kinda want to pretend they're sophisticated, if you're so exigent go buy an iphone for 1k dollars you morons
I guess i stick with my MIA1 a little bit longer... Hahaha

Picked up the Mi A2 for $159 a few months ago and it's a solid device. Spec sheet for the A3 is pretty solid, but that 720 display is a deal breaker. Also a bigger bump in the CPU would have been great too. I'm good to hold out till the A4.
same bro ✌️✌️😅
Yeah i agree I'm very disappointed about the mi a3....since redmi note 7 release im thinking about that...the mi a3 might be better than note7 but it's really so disappointing note 7 is better...i think they need to focus on Android one line up and take it seriously...coz many user's likes no bloat ware in their devices...
Angie, you need to make a video for Asus ROG Phone 2.
Thank you Angie!
Redmi 7 has 6.3inch display and 720p Resolution and it's really not that bad, I've been using it as 2nd device for the past month.
Name only ONE casual person who can see a huge difference between 720p and 1080p..

I like the idea of Google Xiaomi experience, but that screen resolution is so back to 2014 or 2013... I still use Redmi 3S as backup phone, but mainly because of battery life. Even calendar widget takes the whole screen on 720p and I love to keep it simple - one homescreen
"Did you do it?"
"Yes. There is now a headphone jack."
"What did it cost?"
"You're looking at it."
Everyone is shit talking about 720p display. I upgraded this device from a LG G4 which had 1440p display and I couldn't be more happy, low resolution is noticeable yes and camera is arguably not as good as G4s however in every other aspect this is a much better phone. Battery lasts me a day easily and half of the time it lasts me 2 days with %15 to spare. Updates made the in screen finger printer reader much faster and accurate.

All the people commenting about how 720p is a dealbreaker, while it's actually the reason to get this phone.
As a relatively active person who sometimes spends over a day without an outlet, the biggest issue I have with modern phones is battery life. I'll take the massive battery life over a higher resolution which makes the phone more expensive, brings absolutely zero advantage in terms of utility and only a small advantage in terms of media. If you want a 1080p phone, there's a ton of them on the market, just pick one. There's no reason for you to hate a phone that's not for you.

I actually bought this to upgrade my mi a2. Knowing that it had a 720P 6 inch screen, but what bothers me most about it was comparing it to my mi a2 and seeing that it opens CZcams slower, and took photos slightly slower. The mi a2 is just a snappier phone all together. it just doesn't make sense to me that it's $100 more. I'm not sure if it opens the apps slower because the clock speeds are lower, but that's just what I noticed. That being said not every app was slower. Most were exactly the same. You tube and Google maps were slower.
