    Great idea and great video. Explored this option and then found the ZeboZAP that was easier to install.

      I got the ZeboZAP for my gazebo and love it. Saved so much money from trying to build a wall and other complicated solution .
      The gazebo ZeboZAP was fast and easy to install our 50” tv without any drilling into our gazebo post. Best part it swivels in and out and you can adjust the height as you like.

      Zebozap is solid. Highly recommend it to anyone’ with a gazebo or pergola. DIY and good price.

    Love the setup, it's beyond my scope of DIY, I can mount the TV, but the electrical not to sure....lol Thanks for the video

      Im no electrician, but it isn't complicated. You only need one GFCI plug at the power source. Your friendly Home Depot guy can explain!

      I got the ZeboZAP tv mount for yardistry. Strapped the tv on instead of the ceiling. Took me 10 minutes.

      Can you show me how you did it? I want to do the same on my aluminium gazebo but can't seem to see someone online who did it. The aluminium frame seems a bit weak to hold the weight of the stand and tv...

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem +1

      @@paulfortin08 maybe you can mount the tv on the shorter side. Should be stronger than a longer span. Maybe you can clamp the mount around the aluminum same as I did in the video

      The ZeboZAP for metal gazebo is easy

    That’s exactly what Iam looking for
    Also getting a 50/55 in tv from Costco
    I have gfci outside
    Getting my Gazeboo installed next week .
    Can’t wait ,Iam also adding 2 wireless speakers by Sonos from Costco also .
    Thanks

      Great! I am about to make a start video to show the tv speaker setup I have. Wired; not wireless.
      Tv speakers project backwards towards the neighbors yard so had to be done.

    Curious, so is the wood piece attached to the frame of the gazebo at all? Or does it just sit flushed against the frame and the top and bottom bolts used for the mount is what is holding everything in place? I have a steel gazebo with similar frame and wondering if this same setup would work.

  • @dominic0257
    @dominic0257 Před rokem +3

    Man this is great & Thank you for sharing this. I have the same Costco gazebo & I just ordered the same TV Mount & weather proof cover you recommended. I'll be buying a 50' from Costco tomorrow. I'm going to do it the same way you did & I will use the 1/4 bolt. Can you tell me what's the black rubber tube was used for? I see it in your pic of the mount but nothing was said about it. Thanks again.

      I think you are referring to the cut pieces of soft tube. My buddy put it there to keep it from doing I don't know what. Not there anymore and everything is fine.

      @randomize6173  Před rokem

      If you are referring to the soft rubber tubes that were jammed behind the post, my buddy put them there. Don't know why. There gone now and everything is fine.
      I'm taking my tv out of storage soon and remounting. After 1 season, tv is still like new.

  • @rachelbrooker6327
    @rachelbrooker6327 Před rokem +2

    Thank you for sharing this. My question is does the TV always hang there? I am looking for a solution that I can have it hang like yours is but then have the arm go up towards the roof so that the TV is stored basically against the roof. I want to do this so that my view is not always the TV but then the TV can be pulled down when I want to watch it. Does this set up do that?

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem

      Actually, I think this is possible. The lower screw on the vertical arm can be replaced with a pin. Remove the pin and fold up to ceiling. Just need to figure out a mechanism to hold in place. I May try this next summer. Tv stored indoors for winter.

      There are quite a few "flip down" TV mounts on Amazon that will do what you're looking for. They're not cheap, though. Some are even motorized.

  • @mattschronce3503
    @mattschronce3503 Před rokem

    What size TV did you use? Was thinking of a 55”, but was worried that may be too big. It only weighs 30 pounds though so probably would be fine…not 100%. Thanks for the video btw, great stuff

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem +1

      I have a 46" I found on Facebook Marketplace. Weight-wise, a 55" should be fine. I would consider the wind loading since it can act like a big sail. Not much wind in my location, BUT don't let the tv spin too much on the vertical pole as the wires inside may twist! I recently drilled a small hole through the post so I can put a pin (nail) to keep if from spinning.

    • @mattschronce3503
      @mattschronce3503 Před rokem

      @randomize6173  Před rokem +1

      @@mattschronce3503 I bought a used regular tv on Facebook Marketplace and a outdoor tv cover on Amazon. It's been fine. Stays dry and no spiders!
      I also 3D printed some plugs to close up all unused HDMI and av ports (just in case)

  • @ericjwarren
    @ericjwarren Před rokem

    did you run the conduit though the inside of the post or terminate it after you entered the bottom area of weed?

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem

      Conduit is only where the wire would otherwise be exposed. The wire inside the post does not conduit.
      Note: I used outdoor rated wire so no conduit needed other than esthetics and to avoid tripping hazard.

      46". Got lucky. Went on Facebook Marketplace and found it immediately. $100 (Canadian $), fully functional with ARC HDMI so I only need my fire stick remote.
      If ever it gets damaged from being outside, it's no big deal. But first summer passed and it is still super clean.

  • @anthonymoore2623

    Can you flip the TV up and out of the way when not in use?

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem

      Actually, that is my plan! I will remove the lower bolt in to section and replace with a cotter pin. That way, I can remove the pin and fold up. Just need to figure out how to securely hold up and still look clean. There may be an issue with the weight and ease of use when folding up or down. I'll post a follow-up video if it works.

    • @randomize6173
      @randomize6173  Před rokem +1

      Yes, you could put bolts directly into the wood structure, but I wanted to avoid that since the center of the beam is close to the joint.

    Argh - I was just about to buy this mount and then realized that my Yardistry 12X16 Gazebo is engineered differently so that I don't have access on top of the beam for the top bolt. Looks like the beams are now closer to the edge of the roofline and there is a smaller piece of wood on the outside that blocks the gap at the top. Really disappointed!

    • @LeslievilleGeeks
      @LeslievilleGeeks Před 3 měsíci

      Try the ZeboZAP. Straps on to yardistry vertical post easily. Took me 10 minutes to get my 43inch tv up and running . Also swivels 360 degrees.
