When i was a florist in San Francisco in 80’s 90’s they were called Nigella and/or “Love in the Mist” in public, but at the San Francisco flower market it was fondly called “F*** in the Fog”😮😂. Those were fun times. Always loved these flowers. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Gorgeous work-as always

These flowers have many names: But whether you call it Nigella, Love-in-the-mist, Fennel flower, Bishop's weed or Old man's beard, this annual is a stunning plant.

That belongs to the family of * black cumin*. Nigella flower is very easy to grow !!!
You can sow the seeds immediately after all danger of frost has passed. This is around mid-May or June. They bloom from June to September.
The black cumin seeds should be sown 1 - 2 cm deep into the soil and pressed lightly. When sowing Nigella in rows, a distance of 20 - 30 cm is ideal.
The soil should be kept moist. After 2-3 weeks, the first tender seedlings appear !!!
