- In this video, I update my Arlen Ness Monster Sucker with an external breather mod to avoid blowing oil and hot gasses back into my throttle body. You've probably seen plenty of info on the oil buildup and carbon deposits that happen as a result of this OEM configuration. There is no off-the-shelf kit for an Arlen Ness external breather vent system for this intake, so I came up with a modification to make it happen. This inexpensive, discreet solution takes care of the problem. I'm just venting it to a Uni filter at this point, but I may add a catch can in the future. I've installed this breather kit on my 2019 Harley-Davidson Softail Street Bob FXBB with Stage III, but this same modification could be done to any bike with the Arlen Ness Monster Sucker.

DIY breather ventilation modification for the Arlen Ness Monster Sucker intake on my Harley-Davidson Street Bob FXBB with the 114 Stage III Screamin' Eagle kit. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Have you swapped out the upper clutch cable on your bike? How did it go and did you come up with any tips you can share? Once you get the hang of the process you can really knock it out quickly.
Best explanation on this topic that I've seen thus far. Good job!
Thanks John! So glad it was helpful.

Just finished up the Mod!!! I love it!! It works perfect. Thanks for the great detailed video. Rode my bike for 1 hour straight and no problems. I put a catch can instead of the filter.
Thanks for letting us know! Glad it went smoothly for you.

Really good video, Ron!
People who consistently overcome so called "bad moves", while keeping their heads, and promptly making good moves to get themselves back on track, statistically have strong track records for "success in life".
YOU exhibited that with how you overcame the error of incorrect drilling. A fine example for us all!
Your method of addressing the initial issue is strong, and will likely be used by others.
Hey BigFiveJack - thanks for the encouragement! Let me know if you do the mod or something similar.
You are very talented with your bike mods and this video will be one I share with others!
Hey Valerie - thanks for the kind words! Let me know how it goes.
Well done ! Very well explained
This is incredibly well detailed, edited, and thought out. Much appreciated and respect.

Great work Ron, 👏 👍
Thanks Ski!
Great video! Well produced which is a nice break from the regular videos. I have done several different systems using different methods but none this in depth. I currently have an Arlen Ness breather and will have to figure out some type of system to use and this seems doable. Thanks for the detailed info!!
Hey Seth - thanks for the encouragement! Let me know what you end up with. This solution works well, but it does remove the possibility of adding a little vacuum to the crankcase. You can see more info on that here: czcams.com/video/BaG1VdOFe48/video.html
@@RonsWorkshop I will check that video out thanks! I will definitely be buying the rain sock as well. Being in Tampa we get a ton of afternoon showers. I just bought the bike with this breather on it and like the look but love tinkering. Picked up a tap and die set today so this weekend I will start taking it apart and see what works. Thanks again!
Ron thanks for taking your time making this great video Harley Davison owners can relate to some type of fix. (You and Billy Bob Thorton sound just a like)
Hey Von - thanks for the feedback! I get that Billy Bob reference a lot. In fact, I’ve been dubbed Ron “Street Bob” Thornton lol.

I just installed a Feuling vented dipstick. I have an Arlen Ness Inverted Air Cleaner. I did not wanted to do the venting thru that way. I have not been able to test it since I just installed it yesterday. Will let you know how it worked. I did had oil on the air cleaner plate which straight out scare me. I have a 114 with just a Stage 1 kit. No cams or other engine mods. Video was very detailed and very informative. Keep up the good work.
Hey Jose - thanks for the info! Please do let me know how the dipstick works out. Today I’m posting the video about my failed DIY vented dipstick - you’ll probably find it interesting. The dipstick itself works but it blows oil out the filter. I’m talking with another company about their solution and I should have it within a couple of weeks. I’ll add the new video link here as soon as it’s live.

I did what you did drilled and tapped and put a external breather on my 2015 Ultra limited with a screaming eagle stage one breather kit. Hi Ron,
I had a similar problem and solved it another way. My Big Sucker is the version that uses the stock 107 cover. Instead of drilling holes for fittings I decided to replace the Arlen Ness head bolts with the OEM head bolts that pass the gasses straight through. No need to plug the ports in the back plate as nothing is routed through them to the intake anymore. They are sealed off from the system by O rings installed on the OEM breather bolts. I drilled two holes in the back plate and routed hoses from each head bolt through the back plate hole (after installing a rubber grommet to avoid failure from vibration). On the back (outside) the air cleaner I installed a T fitting and routed the single line to a filter like you did. Several thousand miles on the bike now (2019 Road King) and it runs like a dream. No more oil splattering on the side of my bike or dripping from the air cleaner. The filter still looks pristine too.
Hi Jeff - that’s a great solution! Thanks for sharing the details.
Nice!been looking for this install video been worried about the placement of the fitting

Great. Now not only do I have to drill into my box new $350 intake I'm going to have to make it look nice. Mine is all chrome and I keep looking at my -4 AN lines I have laying around. I could use all nickel plated fittings and stainless line. Have black braided now for my car. This video gave me several ideas.
Hey shawng7902 - those braided lines will definitely make it look nice! Let me know how it ends up.

I run my head breather bolt tubes up toward the triple tree in front of my gas tank. Everything above the head breather bolt. That way everything drains back into the head and I don't use any oil in blowby. Where the tubes end up by the upper triple tree I just have a piece of cloth. for some reason I don't have oil coming out of those tubes. However, I do use 60w oil. that sh_t don't atomize.
Thanks for the vid. It's always interesting to see other peoples set up. Sweet sounding V-Twin too.
Hey Douglas - thanks for sharing that and for the kind words too! Yeah I bet that 60w ain’t climbing that vent hose!
I have to do the same thing this week, I have a 2016 FXDLS, with a similar air cleaner..the heavy breather. So I have to do pretty much the exact same thing you did
Hey TylerDD - let me know how it goes! 100% satisfied with mine.

What a great video. I’m about do it to mine Monster sucker. I’ve done the Screaming eagle ventilator filter before and it was simple compared to this one.
Thanks for the kind words! Let me know how it goes if you do the mod.
I just opened the air cleaner on my 2020 street bob today. I put an aftermarket filter on about 1000 miles ago and there was very little oil residue 🙅
Also, from what I understand, the carbon buildup is a non-issue. It looks bad but doesn't hurt the engine.
Hey Mike - that’s good news! Hope it stays that way. It could be that the stage 3 makes it worse, but there was considerable buildup in mine. Thanks for sharing what you found. If you want a channel sticker send me a DM on Instagram with the mailing info @RonsWorkshop
Great way to over come the blowby. I did the same thing using the Transformer from DK. My way cost a bit more but I didn't have the foresight you did. However, if I ever have to get a smog check, heaven forbid the government doesn't slap any more restrictions on us, the Transformer can be set to route the blowby back to the original Harley setup. I do have a Catch Can attached to the Transformer.
That’s a nice feature! I’m definitely a fan of DK Custom. I have a few of their parts and they’ve all been great.
I'm running the Harley Davidson heavy breather, similar to what your running I also drilled and taped a 1/8 npt but I just ran the line under the throttle body and put the filter there.
Hey Daniel - excellent! I also considered putting the filter under the throttle body. Thanks for watching and commenting!
ordered kit from dk customs, replaced stock cleaner assembly with thiers on my 2019 heritage softail classic. used catch can, cuoldnt be happier.
Hey Loren - that’s great! I know I’ve been happy with the DK Custom parts I’ve used, and if I add a catch can it’ll be one of theirs.
Nice work!

@@RonsWorkshop Looks like your in the J'ville area, I'm in O.P.
Excellent! One of these days we can coordinate a ride.
Excellent video! I have this breather and have been thinking of how to do this. Only thing I would have done differently and this is mega minor, I would have cleaned off the white lettering on the rubber line. 😋👍
Hey Harley Dave - yea that’s on the list :) I ended up with two different brands of hose and most of the video shows the one I like least. But I agree! Let me know how it goes - and be careful with those holes!! If you want a channel sticker send me a DM on Instagram with the mailing info @RonsWorkshop
They have steel braided line that would look nice
Yeah that’s a good option too!
I’m curious if the external breather is needed after venting the crankcase? I installed the Trask cover on my transmission and was just about to put a external kit on the breather for my 107 m8’ when I saw a video by Kevin Baxter on the subject and he recommended venting the crankcase or the breather but not both. Do you have any thoughts on the subject since it appears you’ve done both?
Hey Todd - I suspect the crankcase vent by itself will really make a big difference. But I still like the idea of doing both - just as extra insurance. Even if there’s still a little blow-by I don’t want it pushing hot air and oil mist into my intake. To me, more venting is better, but that’s just my opinion and the route I took.
Awesome video. I just finished mine and also blackened the fitting. I went the catch can route just so I can see what is caught. Did you have to tube the bike with this mod?
Hey Moha Bens - thanks the feedback! I like the catch can idea for sure. I didn’t change any aspects of my tune after making the mod. But that is a good point! Let me know if you make any changes.
Hey Ron, bought the air cleaner and am going to do this mod. Just had a few concerns about the internal holes.. have you found a better solution than tapping them? Worried about over time the screws breaking down and honestly the overall tapping them out. Any info would be much appreciated!
Hey Jon - No I haven't come up with anything else. They do go all the way through the intake and end up at the mounting bosses where the breather bolts go. Maybe there's a way to plug them at that end, but you'd be dealing with a small 1/2" orifice. I thought about JB Weld to fill the holes, but I'd be nervous that it would get sucked out at some point down the line. I'll let you know if I think of anything else...and please let me know what you end up with.
Great video! I have the same breather but chrome. I wouldn't want to use brass fittings! What do you suggest? Thx!
Hey John - thanks for the kind words! I felt the same way about the brass. Here’s what I did since I couldn’t easily find all the fittings I wanted with an anodized finish:
czcams.com/video/qdOUQEF06sk/video.html
I have seen stainless fittings as well, so that could be an option as well.

To blacken brass get you a little bottle of "Brass Black" By Birchwood Casey at your local sporting good store/Gun store. Might have a scotch bright the brass a little but works great.
Yep - that’s what I used! I’ve got a short video in the works showing a few different techniques I used. I’ll post that after the crankcase breather video.
Hey Ken - I just posted the video on blackening those fittings. I tried a few different techniques, all using Birchwood Casey. czcams.com/video/qdOUQEF06sk/video.html
Nice vid! I switched from the stock HD engine oil to Motul esther tech and found less oil coming out of the breather. Might be something you wanna try for yourself
Hey Kevin - that’s for sharing that info! I’ve heard good things about Motul but I’ve only ever used their fork oil.

Nice to know I’ve been running Red Line and was thinking of going to Harley oil .
I was looking at my AN filter tonight figuring out how I am going to do this, and I have a game plan. I wanted to ask you, does it matter where the hole on the breather bolt that goes into the head lines up? I marked where the hole is and on one side it lines up with the port to the intake, on the other side it does not. Does that matter or will the air/oil mixture make it's way out of the breather either way? Does that make sense?
Hey Seth - take a look at the bolts and the holes they sit in on the intake, and the cross-drilled holes on the bolts (if present) - as long as there are no shoulders or seals that may affect how the gasses flow, you should be ok. If there's a shoulder or seal and you drill on the wrong side of it, the gasses may not get out. There should be some sort of channel around the bolt at some point, and that should be the optimal place to target (as long as there are no complications with the intake at that point). Does that help at all?
Have you checked the bolts since the fix to see if there’s still any blow by? I have the same intake on a 18 street glide
Hey Billy - as a matter of fact I just checked them last week and they were super clean. Keep in mind that I also implemented a crankcase vent a few weeks after adding the external breather mod, which should greatly reduce / minimize the blow-by. The combination seems to be working really well. Here's a link to the crankcase breather mod if you haven't seen it: czcams.com/video/U6gOhbRQrwE/video.html
Everything makes sense but the part I kinda don't understand is how did you make sure the spot where you drilled and put the fitting (to vent it out) lined up with the vent hole thats drilled into the oem bolts (where the pressure vents into)
That was definitely a bit tricky - and I got it wrong on the first try! I measured from the front and back of the mounting boss and measured the bolts as well, and then tried to place the holes based on all of that. There is a section of the bolt between two shoulders and that’s where the inlet hole is. I wanted my fitting to be between those two shoulders.
Hey Ron I’ve been pondering this for a while. This might sound dumb. Did you try to use the stock breather bolts, like would they work if you don’t mind it being obvious
Hey Jon - not dumb at all! The Arlen Ness bolts don’t have nipples on them. One option could be swapping out the bolts and then routing the lines from those new ones - and still blocking off the ports in the throttle body. I’m not sure if they’re standard bolts or not but that should be easy enough to determine and overcome.
Can’t help but think it would be better to run the hoses down and allow for gravity to drain vs allowing the oil/water to build up. What are your thoughts? Great videos by the way!
Hey Steve - yeah that’s a good improvement! Might be a bit challenging to find a good path for hose routing but I like it 👍🏼
And thanks for the kind words! If you want a sticker send me a DM on Telegram, Instagram or Signal with the mailing info @RonsWorkshop
Hey Ron, new viewer here. Just picked up a 21 RG 107 in Oct. Heard about the blow by issues right around the 1k service. Told the dealer (2 different dealers now) about my excess oil blow by and they say it's normal. My bike has roughly 2k miles on it now and my filter is 100% soaked in oil. I have to clean it & the throttle body out after every ride, while dealer refused to replace the filter on the 1k service. Actually told my to wash it with soap and water?!!
Question... the hoses and fittings you mention in your video, are those Arlen Ness specific or will they also work with factory bolt/hoses?
Awesome content, well thought out, love your channel. Keep it up and rubber down!
Hey Adam - welcome to the channel and thank you for the kind words! The process I used is generic, but some of the steps are specific to the Monster Sucker. In general, you could adapt this mod to most any intake / air cleaner. Let me know if I can provide more input.

Hey Ron I love it Good job .
came out very neat, no all I did was ,on my twin cam 2005 Fatboy , I use the rubber grommets (stock ones,) attached a 3/8 windshield wiper / fuel hose, to both grommets with small 3/8 hose clamps, then routed both of those into a T, and the single one out the back.
Well I meant to ask you after we do all this to our bikes do we have to tune them again?????
Hey MrRichBiker - thanks for sharing your setup and thanks for the kind words!
Hey Ron, in the video you list a brass Y fitting but later in the video it looks like you went with the plastic one. 1. Why did you go with the plastic one? 2. Where did you get it? Thanks in advance. I am currently doing the modification and am using a catch can.
Hey Brian - no it’s brass that I blackened. Future video coming out on that. There’s a link to al the fittings in the video description. I think I’ll add a catch can at some point. Let me know if you need any more info.
@@RonsWorkshop Totally forgot you mentioned that in the beginning of the video. I ended up using the 1/4 fuel hose to a 3/8. I mounted the catch can to one of the bolts on the timing cover. Then ran the hose under the side side cover then over to the can. I did want to ask if you have had any issues with the hose having to go up first to the Y then down to the hot to the filter? Just wondering if the pressure is enough to push the oily gases all the way down to my catch can.
Hey Brian - no worries at all. Thanks for sharing your implementation! I’ll check my vent hose in the next day or so, and post my findings here.
Brian I checked the external breather hoses this morning and they are still flowing freely, so in my case it does not look like the vent hose angle is having any negative effect.
@@RonsWorkshop Awesome news Ron. I am waiting on the gaskets to come in so I can reinstall the Screamin Eagle housing. I had no way to check yet since I have not even finished the project. Keep up the videos. Wish I had seen your recent video on the vented M8 transmission cover. I had already purchased the vented dipstick from Fuel. Still thinking about doing it anyway.
Can you route these and the crankcase vent through one breather filter?
Loved seeing how you dealt with the miss on the first fitting location.
Hard to believe the HD engineers thought allowing oil to run into the inlet was a good idea.
Hey Chris - I considered using a single line (by using t or y fittings to tie them) but I was concerned that pressure from one could charge the other, basically working against one another. Based on that I decided to keep them separate. Does that make sense?
@@RonsWorkshop makes perfect sense. Thanks.
The EPA made harley do this….
Great video!! Did you have any oil “blow by” coming out the side of the intake? I have the Arlen Ness big sucker velocity 65 degree on a Street glide special and it comes out the side and blows onto my saddle bags.
Hey MrNeedragger - thanks for the feedback! The monster sucker seals up pretty tight, so I never saw oil on the outside. But as soon as I took it apart I saw the oil.

I am getting blow by on my jeans while riding long distances. Is that normal? I have installed the big sucker. Thanks
@@ffblack1 Yup. That’s why the mod is needed
Hey Chris - are you getting oil before or after adding the external breather mod?
@@RonsWorkshop after I put the breather on. And noticed some on the oem filter when I took it off
G'day Ron awesome video, do you think the bike needs to be re dynoed after this external breather modification,
Hey Simosay78 - thanks for the kind words! Yeah I’d love to have some dyno time. Maybe just maybe. My dealer has one 😁
I know nothing about Arlen Ness air filter systems, but I like them and always thought about getting one. one question, hows does it work when riding and it starts raining?
Hey Ken - the filter itself is water resistant so it’s fine in light rain. They have a rain sock as well, which would be good for riding in heavy or prolonged rain.
@@RonsWorkshop Thanks for that information, one last question do you know the torque specs for those 2 breather bolts that screw into the aluminum heads
Hey Ken - I see in the manual that the stock breather bolts call for 22-24 ft-lbs
Buy a rain sock lol..I found out the hard way ... nylons work in a pinch
Hey Joe - I think you’re right. That’s cheap insurance and you just never know when you’ll get caught out in it. I plan to add a sock to the swing arm bag.
So would it just drain into the filter? It would just fill the tube right
Hey Korie - yes it would work it’s way down to the filter. I didn’t noticed oil in the pod filter, but not long after doing the mod I switched to a catch can. That was also after adding a crankcase vent. The mod also allows that moisture to escape to cut down on the milky gunk. Be sure to check the playlist because there’s a lot covered: czcams.com/play/PLH2H949XFljmYmV9nukq4pl4PdUrPJcVq.html
Let me know if that makes sense or if I missed anything you’re asking about.
I seen a video where an HD Master Mech does this mod and then connects it to the tranny cover (crank side) which is vented. Is there an issue with dropping the lines dirct from the monster sucker to the tranny cover (crank side)?
Im running a 2022 Street Glide ST.
Hey John - that’s a good question. My guess is there’s probably no issue with that. There’s a chance there could be some condensation / milky gunk that goes through those lines so that’s the only potential issue that comes to mind. Let me know what you decide to do!
Watt size drill bit & tap for 1/8 x3/16 angleled fitting did you use? I'm gonna do it on a 103 vtwin.
The threads for the fittings I used are 1/8” NPT. I think I got a tap & drill set that came with the right drill bit, but the tap should also have the drill size listed.
Thank u, Got it. Found link in description 😊
This an awesome how to video....I just ordered the Monster Sucker for my 2003 Sportster 1200s .
Are you still using this mod on the intake?
Thanks.
Hey Steve - thanks for the kind words! Yes, I’m still using it. I’ve done several experiments with it along with crankcase venting. Bypassing it, using it, adding a catch can, etc. Overall I still like it. Let me know how it goes!
@@RonsWorkshop will do, ya I watched your other videos as well.
Going to follow your other video on making the fittings black.

Hello Ron first I received the stickers thanks. Question? What can I do to give my 2020 Electra glide standard a little more horse power it's a M8/ 107 I seen the video on monster sucker will that work? Just love your videos it's saving me money and time just need a little more power.
Hey William - glad the stickers arrived! Your question is very subjective and not necessarily easy to answer. Stage I wouold probably give you 10-15% more power, but it really boils down to budget. Realistically I'd say even just going to a high-flow air cleaner or more open slip-ons would need a new fuel map. Yes, you could skip that, BUT you just don't know what the long term effects could be if it ends up running lean or rich. Not sure that will help you, but it's just some input to think about.
@@RonsWorkshop thank you Ron I did everything stage 1 air filter changed slip ons remapped I can feel the horse power thank you oh no more questions I'm just going to enjoy your videos.
Keep the questions and comments coming!! Thanks for your support and for being a part of the community:)
I was told that if I'm running with only a stage one on my M8, I don't need to do any of the mods for high pressure in the crankcase, is this true?
Hey Jeff - everything I’ve seen says that blow-by is a noteworthy issue on the Milwaukee Eight in general. So venting the crankcase will reduce that pressure that causes the blow-by. It’s probably up for debate, but to me, allowing the engine to breath easier makes sense. I’ve just finished venting the crank case using the transmission too cover, in addition to the external breather mod on the intake. Bike is running great. Full video coming up within a week on the crankcase venting solution.
@@RonsWorkshop thanks Ron
So does this just happen with stage III or does this with the monster sucker at any stage?
Hey Peter - it’s with any M8 and pretty much any intake as well. Here’s a playlist with all the videos related to crankcase venting: bit.ly/softail_sumping_playlist
Hey Ron, New to your channel. thanks for your videos. I just bought this Air intake and was watching the video with the rain sock and noticed you said you were in Florida, I was wondering if your anywhere near the Orlando area and wondering if you could do the drilling on my intake since you have the experience doing it already..This is way past my skills.
Hey Byron - I'm up in Jacksonville. I really only work on my own projects, but I appreciate you thinking of me! If it would help, I could measure the "good" side to see how far back the center of the hole is. Just let me know.
@@RonsWorkshop Hey Ron thanks for getting back to me, dont go out of your way to measure it but if you happen to take it off I would like to know the distance, I only have 330 miles on it so think I can wait a bit..Thank you so much for your time.
Hey Byron - the center of the hole is 0.78” back from the outside edge of the mounting boss. I hope that helps!
Trask performance has a crankcase and transmission breather for 289 dollars its a lot better then a vented dipstick its called the checkmate.
Hey Brad - yep, it’s a beautiful solution. That was the inspiration for doing my own transmission too cover vent. It’s working great so far. Full video tomorrow.
Did this work, any problems pop up ? I have the same setup and want to do it to mine
Hey John - yes, it works well and I haven’t had any issues. Be sure to check out the recent video where I cover a few related topics: czcams.com/video/JPI3AeMfYeg/video.html
Let me know how it goes!
@@RonsWorkshop Hey Ron.I did trans venting, and so far it's working well. I will add the breather mod to the Big Sucker. There was a "little" oil at injection site before I did the trans cover. I'll put aboit 200 miles on and check. If very little oil, I'll leave alone. If there is a noticable amount, I'll change. Thx for these videos. It has helped immensely
@user-ks1lx2un7p I’m so glad this was helpful! Thanks for sharing the update and thanks for the kind words as well.
Has anyone moded their intake to route the blow by hose into the transmission cover? I have heard of people drill/tapping a fitting into the top of the tranny case in order to vent the oil back to the tranny instead of using a small filter/can. Any info if this is a good idea/bad idea etc. would be GREAT!
I wouldn’t want the blow-by contaminating the crankcase - but I think that’s how the 2024 bikes are set up from the factory.
I had this same issue with the arlen ness big sucker. No one made a banjo bolt long enough. So all i did was remove those arlen ness banjo bolts that get gummed up and replaced them with a drilled out hollow piece of stainless steel all thread and a flange nut. Stuck the hose on the end of that all thread and was done. I made a video if anyones interested.
Hey MillStar - thanks for sharing that solution! I found your video and I’ll add the link below.

Spoiler alert. Oil will still come out the breathers. Only now it will saturate that filter and drip forever.
Hey William - that’s definitely possible. A catch can would alleviate that. I’d rather deal with that than have oil in the intake and the tops of the pistons coated with baked-on oil.
So I followed your instructions and ran the lines the same as you and I'm being told that because I (and you)
Ran the lines up vertically
That the oil, residue etc. Won't be able to get over the vertically ran hoses because it has no pressure and it will just clog and damage the motor..
Hey DelilahZx10 R - you can definitely rout the lines differently, and keep them lower if you prefer. I didn’t have any problems but you raise a good point and it’s worth making that change.
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to produce it. Like you, I am doing my homework by viewing experiences with this type of installation. I have a 96" twin cam. I want to use the 3/16 fuel hose as you did and route it in the most discreet way possible. This brings me to my question. Do you experience any oil flow problems due to the fact the oil has to travel upwards before it reaches your can? My understanding of good oil flow is to allow it for a path of least restriction. I welcome your sage insights.
Hey Fred - I haven’t had any issues with hose routing. I’ve also changed things around a good bit, trying different solutions. As a result I haven’t had an extended time with any one configuration.
Does the 2021 need this done to
Hey bigteddybear012001 - it’s my understanding that all of the Milwaukee Eight motors have this blow-by situation. I haven’t heard anything different about the 2021 models. You could also consider crankcase venting, but maybe not both. I’m about to do a follow up video where I check for vacuum on my motor after having done both ventilation mods. Here’s a link to the crankcase venting mod: czcams.com/video/U6gOhbRQrwE/video.html
@@RonsWorkshop did they get the sumping problem fixed on the new ones
Not sure - I haven’t heard and haven’t researched that yet. Let me know if you find anything.
@@RonsWorkshop guess i will find out. Just got a 2021 street bob 114 today
Nice! Let me know if you tackle any mods.
what is that sound track ??
Hey Meshwat Almarri the music track is from the CZcams audio library, The artist is Yung Logos and the track is titled Clang.
@@RonsWorkshop thanks 😊
Add a catch can.
Hey James - yep, I’m feeling like a DK Custom catch can would be good. I really like their products and I’m using several of them.
they sell a kit for that for less then 50 bucks
Hey Jacob - have you tried the kit? Let me know how it went, or if you try it how it goes. I know DK Custom has some universal kits. Is there another one out there?

Thanks for the link!
@@jacobknapp2710 this kit looks like it won't work for the style of intake in this video
I currently have a stock air cleaner & i diverted the blow by out into a can. I wanted to buy a forward facing air cleaner but was wondering if they replaced the breather bolts….& yes they did. Goddamn this pisses me off. Fuck the EPA
Hey Matt - let me know which air cleaner you end up with. I think DK Custom has some that either come with a breather mod or are easily modified.
@@RonsWorkshop went with a super 90 from Wimmer custom cycles, drilled & tapped a couple fittings for the breather hoses into it. Came out great.
Hey Matt - that’s a sweet intake! I hadn’t seen one so I had to check it out. Glad it turned out well and thanks for following up.
But you could not drill anything, just take and change the bolts to standard HD and put rubber hoses on them. and that's it.😄
Hey Anton - yes that’s an option too - but it would add to the undesired crankcase pressure and likely increase it, or possibly interfere with the opening of the umbrella valves in the heads.
I fabricated this catch can system for my 1998 Lowrider just recently. 200 miles so far and my throttle response is way snappier than before. I noticed the exhaust doesn't have that typical "sweet" smell anymore that all stock Harley's have czcams.com/video/GWgkI7Sfz_E/video.html
Looks like it’s working well! Thanks for sharing that. What did you use for the catch can?
@@RonsWorkshop It's an Osias brand one I got off of ebay. Only 20 bucks and it's surprisingly very high quality!
