- Wynns Xtreme Petrol System Clean Review | H-D External Breather vs Fuel System Cleaners - Here I test and review this popular petrol gas injector and fuel system cleaner on my Harley and determine whether it has made any difference in the carbon build up on the pistons.

This content is fantastic. The endoscopic examination of the cylinder heads was the cherry on top! What field are you in? You have a scientific mind.
Thanks so much. It is a general interest of mine for sure
Thank you for this review. I'm going to try this product.
Great Idea and Great review 👍
Thanks so much
Hi rev. Can't wait to see the results of the piston cleaner. And the external breather
Cheers Warren. All coming soon depending how many mile I get to put on her. We’re locked down at the moment so minimal miles per day at the moment
@@RevelatorAlf yeah lock down is a pain
Useful research RA
Cheers Peter
I run an old Shovelhead and it breaths to the atmosphere, dirty I know.
I've been thinking on the carbon issues and have decided that I too will be fitting an external breather, bit of a heath Robinson affair going on in my head at the moment.
If you buy an after market solution and there is some out there you could well be paying big £££s. I for one will be looking forward to future episodes! Thanks Alf.
Thanks pal. I am proposing a solution for less than a tenner! Time will tell if I get this right
GREAT Video Alf,,Definitely Following and Highly Anticipating the Outcome of Both the External Breather and Cylinder Cleaner Additive.. Interesting Point the Rear Cylinder you say Was Marginally Cleaner Possibly due to Heat..Glad I Don't have to Use Ethanol..Also I wonder if Fuel Stabilizer would in your Case make Any Difference..
Thanks 👍 Coming soon
Great channel
ive used seafoam on my 125 as it ran sluggish when i brought it due to neglect and it was carb and i put a full can of seafoam and full tank fuel and after 200miles it fixed the issue of the bike to run as it should as before i had to keep revving it and felt really slow to build speed
hi i got vincent comet 500c and works very will wynns extreme, please put e10 petrol in your classic motorcycle it s old regular petrol ,cheers ,
As soon as the parts come in , I will be installing an external breather, it’s a fairly easy process they have kits for sale from some suppliers and they are pretty expensive but with a little imagination , doing on your own is cheaper and you get the same results.
Video coming soon to give you a few ideas. Cheers
What a coincidence Alf , I have just decided to do the same experiment , only difference is that I have just made and fitted external breather systems for my air cleaner and for the sump/oil tank , Hoping that I will not be burning the oil that I have been , my pistons have quite a coating of carbon (6000 miles) so we will see after using the Wynns stuff if the carbon is disappearing or not , as you said this formula is a "petrol system cleaner " not a decarboniser, Wynns do a carbon cleaner but I cant find it on sale anywhere. Keep up the vids mate..
Yep I’ve got a few more videos coming out shortly with more in this. Thanks so much. Cheers
I used a full bottle in my 17L tank...is this okay
A good portion of that carbon on your pistons will be from Harley's trick of throwing back any oil misting from the head breathers into the throttle body, been studying this and crankcase pressure issues and have bought the Feuling vented dipstick kit for my Sport Glide head breather mod coming up also.
Ok good stuff
🤔 very interesting, thanks for the interesting vid. 🤓😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it Cheers John
Years ago I used a product named STP. Not sure it helped. I like the idea of using the little camera to verify.
Thanks so much
Thanks Alf do you run regular fuel or premium? do you add any ethanol stabilizer like "startron"?? Its supposed to remove build up from corn
No just regular but I’m looking into different ways right now actually
Do you have ever have any concerns that various fuel additives that you use could damage your o2 sensors?
Not that I can tell
Hello mate, can you mix this with their xtreme petrol emissions reducer? Don't want to do any damage but was sold the wrong one
Not really sure
I use good old Red X in my Harley every other tank fill up. Have no idea if it makes any difference at all, Like the Wynns product my twin cam does seem to run a little bit smoother. But again marginal. Be interested to see the product results of a specific combustion chamber cleaner.
Yep more videos coming soon. Cheers
I use a " Shooter" but just in winter what i do is every 3rd or 4th fill up i put 98 octane in instead of the regular 95. Thanx interesting.
Yep different fuels will make a difference I bet too. Cheers
Not sure where you are but in AU we have 91 Low Octane and Premium 95 and 98.. 95 is Not Low Octane and that's all I Ever run in my 20 114 FXLRS and Consistently get over 250 miles or 400 km to Empty with a Half a Gallon Left ( mostly Highway riding ).
@@paulhorvath9784 Here in Germany and the EU 95 is low 98 and Shell 100plus is high Germany the bastard government have put taxes up on petrol becuase of the Enviroment no other EU land has done so so i can expect to pay 10 cent more on a litre of fuel this year its getting like a mad max film.
Noticed you used one of my local petrol stations ;-)
Ah yes. Not my usual but quite often there
@@RevelatorAlf same here - I'm down hill as it were, quite close to the location you filmed the SPort Glide Review (and the local HD dealer) :-)
Ah ok that’s where I normally fill up actually. I’ll be there again first thing too ha ha
*Work or not ?*
What I don't understand is the origin of the build-up.
Some say it has to do with oil blow-buy and vented dipstick or breather catch-can are the solution.
Some say it is ethanol in the gas.
Here in France the regular gas is 98 octane ethanol free.
Would I need this product ?
I have videos coming shortly discussing this very thing
According to the experts ethanol is a clean burning fuel, so this may help with carbon deposits
Do you have Techron over there?
Don’t believe we do
@@RevelatorAlf There are YT channels that have tested stuff in cars. It seems like the changes with them are marginal to none. I wonder if the dealers have something they use to decarbonize engines. I think they do.
Maybe it just has a placebo effect.
I think it's a little more than that to be fair
10k and your cylinders look awful… my previous honda vtwin was almost clean…
Wynns do not contain PEA which is additive which works most, try redline SL-1 or Amsoil PI these contains a lot of PEA 😉
ok
Not worth £15 then, I'll go seafoam
