    Kurmanji Kurdish, is the northern dialect of the Kurdish languages, spoken predominantly in southeast Turkey, northwest and northeast Iran, northern Iraq, northern Syria and the Caucasus and Khorasan regions. It is the most widely spoken form of Kurdish.
    Central Kurdish (کوردیی ناوەندی), also called Sorani (سۆرانی), is a Kurdish dialect or a language that is spoken in Iraq, mainly in Iraqi Kurdistan, as well as the provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah, and West Azerbaijan in western Iran. Sorani is one of the two official languages of Iraq, along with Arabic, and is in administrative documents simply referred to as "Kurdish".
    If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.

    Thanks for your work. But the story was translated in two different ways just like you can do it in English as well.
    Du kured miroveki hebun - there were two sons of a man
    Kabrayek du kuri hebu - a man had two sons.
    I do not know why this confusion happened, but it could be because of understanding the English version.
    In the last sentence, the Sorani one is detailed while the Kurmanji one is not! The Sorani one is not the exact translation on the English and the Kurmanji one. For example (beşêkî dana bo kurre biçukekey) this part of the sentence is not available in the English and Kurmanji version. This made confusion for many who does not know Kurdish and they see much more differences that is not real and it is because of the translation style.

      Please explain how kurmanji grammar outlines the right ways to express possession.
      “Du kurên mirovêki hebun” to my understanding just means “a man had two sons”. The sorani form of the sentence has the exact meaning albeit the grammatical structure of expressing possession is only slightly different has sorani has clitic possessive pronouns unlike kurmanji

    • @atakurt4247
      @atakurt4247 Před rokem +5

      True. I got the translation from the original "Sorani Kurdish version of Bible" . since it's a religious text, I didn't want to tamper its meaning or mess up the translation by any means and cause offensive backlash. If we go word by word, these two dialects are in fact not that different to become their own languages.

      @@smiedranokatirova5987 it's not a different language and they have accents not dialects and their accents are all mutually intelligible so if someone from northern Kurdistan speaks Kurmanji they can understand other Kurmanji speakers from other parts of Kurdistan despite the minor differences
      Same goes with Sorani
      Plus these 2 aren't the only dialects of Kurdish there are many others such as Lurî, Kelhurrî, Feylî, Hewramî, Zazakî and Lekî
      The problem is the lack of exposure to other dialects that makes Kurdish people not be able to understand each other

    Kurdish languages are the most beautiful languages among Iranian Languages .As you know, Iran means Aryan and Indo-Iranian people called themselves Aryan. In Avesta the holy book of Zoroastrians it is pronounced Ayrian and it changed to Eran and Iran. So Kurdish people are among Iranian people and linguistically, culturally and genetically they are similar to Persians, Mazandaranies, Gilaks, Talishies, Tats and even Ossetians (Alans). Many Kurdish words and grammar are like Persian and other Iranian languages.Biji Kurd Biji Iran

    We have to be happy. Because a difference in dialect does not mean a difference in nationality. Rather, it means richness of language. Kurdish language is (kurmanci.zazaki.sorani.goran.laki.luri.kalhur) We have the richest language. And I saw some Kurdish enemies saying how you call each other blood relatives despite the differences in dialect. Let me tell them that we are not only one nation, but we are one and I am from the south. I am Sorani and I know Kurmanci as Sorani. This is what our enemies are saying. We are neither kurmacin nor sorani nor zazaki nor goran nor so on. We are Kurds and we are of the same blood. We are the descendants of Mad
