26:40 Gale is exactly like her - he is fire, vengeance and fight. That's why she can't be with him. She has enough fire in her without his help. Peta gives her hope, understanding and compassion. That's why she needs him. There's no reason to feel sorry for Gale, he'll be fine.
Plus he is physically attractive. I am pretty sure he will find someone. Probably the girl version of Peeta.

Helene Striker Exactly that was her purpose. To show Katniss and Gale that the divide between the people of the seam and the ones from town was fabricated by the Capitol who is turning them against one another. I wish she’d lived but this proved to them that everyone in district 12 was no different and she was expendable no matter how rich by comparison she was. I just wish they learnt that lesson in another way.

In the book, katniss said it took 15 years for her to finally decide to have children cuz peeta wanted them so badly . They should had put "15 years later" or something before the last scene with the kids. It wasnt a quick decision.
PLUS she said, she wasn't happy with that. And in the movie she smiled. I was so upset in die cinema.
yeah, the bookending is a lot better. more katnis like. the movie end was not good.

She even says so herself how she was scared at the beginning when she had her first child but how she's slowly worked her way through this feeling which was FEAR and not unhappiness. Katniss had a good life with Peeta, DESPITE her past and that's the point.

Here a few things for clarification;)
1) Katniss said yes to the „symbolic Hunger Games“ to keep Coins remaining trust...this way she was allowed to kill Snow and therefore Coin (in the books she had just one arrow)
2) When Finnik was talking about the secrets he collected he mentioned that Snow is killing people with poison...he puts it in the drinks and in order not to raise suspicion he drinks the poison as well. He gets an antidote but his mouth gets tiny wounds (hence the bloody cough) and to hide the smell of blood he wears the roses.
3) in one of the plane rides we can hear Gale talking about a potential bomb idea...people get chased to one end, they explode, medics and helpers rush in and they explode a second Time....so Gales idea was what killed Prim...

@@HMAP792 Gale didn't directly kill Prim, but he still created the bomb that killed her. Even Gale recognizes that he had a part in killing Prim. I mean, can you imagine if the person you've shared every day with for four years had a part in killing the person you love more than life itself? Even if you forgave them, it would be hard to be friends with them.
The tragic aspects of this movie is why I actually really love this movie. As horrible as it is that Finnick and Prim died, their deaths show the single most important aspect of war: no matter who wins, everybody loses.
I was soooooo pissed that they killed Finnick, he was one of my favourite characters :( , and plus he had just got married and had a baby :( !!!!!
He never got to meet his son, that's what gets to me.

I remember reading the series and the moment I realized they killed Prim.. i cried so much. Everything that Katniss has been thru was to protect to her.. to keep her alive and safe. But even after all she did accomplish she still lost the one person she loved beyond a doubt. That broke me. She was seen as the symbol of hope and rebellion but she just wanted to stay alive for her sister and to protect her...goodness. Way to trigger my emotions again haha

It was really hard for me too. I didn't cry when Finnick, rue, or Mags died, but when prim died it was like my whole world collapsed.

Unfortunately all Katniss did was delay Prim's death. Prim was ment to die in the first movie, but she didn't because of her sister.
yeah but other than that she made a big change in all the districts, panem needed the mockingjay, so of course it all started to save prim, but after all the time it was much more than that.

That last scene in Mockingjay with Katniss and Peeta with their kids actually takes place 15 years in the future. So in that scene they are in their 30s.

I'm sorry, but as someone who's read the books, please don't watch the Divergent movies. The first one was pretty decent, but the other two were not. They are not better than the books. You'll only be let down especially since the movie franchise was never completed.
I feel as if Part 1 is even more underrated, though. I thought it was just okay when I watched it the first time, but upon a recent viewing I was blown away.

The blood on Snow's handkerchief are from sores on his mouth that never heal. He got them from poison that he'd drink a tiny bit himself to throw off suspicion after he poisons one of his enemies

That moment when Finnick attacks the mutt with his trident, I always think that now he looks like a victor in, as the Capitol put it, a pageant of 'honour, courage, and sacrifice' like the Roman Gladiator Games were supposed to be. In those few minutes he looked magnificent, even if seconds later I want to scream at him 'What the hell did you throw your trident for you idiot!'

It took years of convincing before Katniss agreed to have kids
The book was much more gruesome when I read it years ago... Finnick was my fave and when he died I was so shocked and sad. Didn't like the movies a whole lot because, as almost always, books and our own imagination while reading them are so vivid in comparison to those movies.
In the books, Gale designed the bomb that killed Prim. He honestly wasn’t the one who sent the bomb, and he regrets ever making it. Hes a lot more remorseful in the book. But both him and Katniss realize that it’s over between them because she’ll always associate him with her sisters death, and even if she doesn’t necessarily blame him directly, she does still subconsciously blame him.
Some other big differences that i remember:
-Haymitch and Effie don’t kiss. That honestly caught me way off guard in the movie
-Effie isn’t in the book for the majority of Mockingjay. She’s imprisoned by the capitol until the very end. It’s implied Coin wanted to kill her for being on the Capitols side but Haymitch and Plutchard fought to keep her alive.

The whole point of killing Prim was to show that nobody you love is ever safe and can die at anytime. It makes it more human. Also that the whole point of the entire series was Katniss saving Prim, and she dies anyway. Now, I do hate with a burning passion that they did this. But I can see why.
Oh no, the books are not more detailed about Prim's death... she sees her, doesn't even scream her name, and then boom. Same for Finnick's death I remember continuing reading and then being like "wAIT WHAT???"
Katniss votes yes so that she'll be in Coin's good grace to be given the possibility of killing Snow. Just to kill Coin. She did not want a "symbolic Hunger Games" it was just a strategy.

Nope, literally half a sentence. It is basically just as what you saw.
Prim is mending the injured, and then those things comes down from the sky, they think it is equipment or things to help people survive, like the stuff they got in the hunger games. But they are bombs, as you could see.
Katniss got to call out her name, Prim saw Katniss right before being blown to smitherines.

Storywise, Gale's fate is worse than death. I think he didn't die exactly because the author wanted Katniss to MAKE the choice instead of getting a free pass. If one is dead, than there is no choice. Peeta always meant love and comfort, he was a good person from the first. Finnick died because war, seems wasteful, but wars are usually wasteful to human life. And Prim's death was the embodiment of corruption. Katniss volunteered to save her, but she died at the hands of the people who claimed they were good guys. These movies are WAY better than they get credit for.
Tigris is considered the most extreme Capitol Citizen. She changed her look through piercings, plastic surgery, and tattooing. She is a person, she just drastically changed her look.
This series is great. lmao some issues but I enjoyed it so much overall. The scene with Katniss and the cat always gets me.

The death of Prim is actually more detailed in the movie than in the book. When I was reading the book I had to reread the scene like three times because I was like "wait, what?"

This isn’t explained in the films but in the book Hungergames Songbird and Snake she is actually President Snow’s Cousin she practically raised him due to his parents dying and only his grandma being there so she looked after them both sadly when Snow Rose to power and when his tribute turned on him he became who he is today and screwed her over so she has a lot of built up anger and hate towards him and the way he turned out hence why she’s helping them 😊
I love Tigriss and feel really bad for her she tried so hard to look after snow and raise him well she’s like a capitol version of Katniss was doing any job she could to try and feed snow and his grandma often starving herself to feed them and he treat her like dirt she definitely deserved better
