What a splendid movie with outstanding acting . Edward G brings style and culture to everything he is in .
Burt Lancaster was a truly beautiful man, in every sense, til the end. And a superb actor.❤❤❤
That's a morally heavy movie. There IS something bigger than family and that's humanity.
They say blood is thicker than water, I say love is stronger than blood. You can't be selfish, succeed, the WORLD needs you.
I haven't watched many Edward G Robinson films but I know he's one of the greatest actors of the film noir era. He's proven that here in his stellar performance of All My Sons.
Burt Lancaster is seriously beautiful.
Burt Lancaster has always been a top notch actor. His characters have such depth.
This is the classic movie where I realized as a 11 year old boy in 1977 that I truly love great acting and a great story! I have been watching classic movies all my life! You can’t put a price on a great story, coupled with magnificent actors!
We don't get such good movies with superb acting anymore. Edward G & burt Lancaster movies 🎬 are classics👌
Only Ed G Robinson acting can take my eyes off Burt Lancaster. Such charisma yu cant help just watch him in the scene.
Even as a young person, Burt Lancaster was an excellent actor. Actors were much more serious about their acting ability in the past and considered it a high craft. All of them did great performances, but to see them young and just starting out, like Burt Lancaster, and being just as skilled as a beginner, as he was when he got older, really gets my admiration.
he had 2 years in the business against Robinson's 25, and 8 roles under his belt, and you just know he's going far. When Lancaster was trying to sign Gary Cooper for Vera Cruz, Gable told Cooper "don't you do it, that young fellow is going to wipe you right off the screen." some years later Gable made Run Silent Run Deep with Lancaster and the younger star holds his own again with the iconic Rhett Butler. I've been imagining Lancaster working with Yul Brynner, both of them sexy and brainy and skilled -- both former acrobats with circuses. That could have been great but it never happened.
Have you seen Birdman of Alcatraz.
I saw it decades ago. Also, great acting by Burt.@@debbiehall7016
To enjoy these great movies is a gift! The 1940s and 50s are filled with wonderful performances. Look back and enjoy!
Eddy G was up there with Tracy, a truly great actor... when you watch him, you're not watching a movie, you're watching someone so good at their craft, you believe you're witnessing the story unfold before your eyes 👏👏👏👏
I've come to the conclusion that if a movie has Eddie G it's a pretty good movie.
much beloved veteran tough guy !
He is so good. Quality actor through and through.
Not pretty good!! A masterpiece of which will never be duplicated!! This man ate any and every role I've ever seen him in and left no crumbs!! Period! And I still haven't seen them all but I am working on it!!
Gostaria de ver esse filme 🎥 legendado em português
Just saw that he was Jewish! I always watch a film if I see he is on it.
I've never seen this film before. A brilliant writer, a fabulous script. Superb acting from Edward G and Burt Lancaster. This is what entertainment should be.
Edward G. was one of the first actors to entertain the troops. He was a favorite of the Air Corps to christen the planes. Lovely man, very talented❤.
Edward G and Burt L two of the finest actors never let you down. Here we have two splendid performances
Outstanding acting
A superb movie classic from the good old days they dont make movies of this caliber nowadays thanks too for my mother whom i watched next to her rest her soul
. . . . . . . this is one of the movies in which the actors and actresses really act! DDF: Film, cheers!🙏🙏🤠🤠
I'm not a movie buff by any stretch of the imagination, but when I take the time to give a certain old movie my time, I'm never dissapointed. This film is great, great actors to boot.💯👍
Robinson's best work. As moving now as it was when I first saw it decades ago. More relevant in these profit driven times than ever
Top notch acting by Burt Lancaster
Edward G. Robinson always adds a class of his own to any film he's in. Cornell Woolrich's novels stand out in quality along with 3 other writers of that period. Gardner, Hammel, Chandler & Woolrich.
I remember seeing this years ago on AMC when it showed movies 24-7.
Powerful movie.
Duff was great, too.
Burt Lsncaster was an amazing human being .
“If you wanna know, ask Joe“ Best movie line.
OMG !!! The ending is so heavy . That line really got to me : "I always took care of him ; I can take care of him now" . That broke my heart .
An early role for Harry Morgan. Brief but a start .
The acting in this movie is amazing
Thanks for a Edward G Robinson movie! One of my favorite actors. 🤗
I Don't understand. Really don't. Why Eddie G. never received an academy award. Especially after this performance. And many others.
Definitely a travesty.
I agree 💯
Yes

i read this play for my english course recently, and all i can say is OHHH MMYY GODDD man. probably one of the best things i’ve ever read. we’re watching this movie before taking our test like, next week but i want to watch it all the way through right now because i love it so much. i cant tell if it’s because im able to link issues that i have with myself as well as my family to this story but it’s genuinely insane. the end of the play just.. explodes and then ends so abruptly as well after all of the tension builds up throughout the play, i nearly cried just reading it. my feelings about each of the characters were changing all throughout reading this play as well which is something i haven’t experienced with any other thing i’ve watched or read before. and upon learning that this play inspired the name of one of my favorite bands from when i was younger (which i am now getting back into once again because of this LOL) i really locked into this play. it’s so beautiful dude jesus christ. if i dont ace this test im gonna cry
all i am is a sophomore in high school but i am going to remember this play for the rest of my life.
Disertation
One of my all time favorite plays! So good!!! Hope you aced your test :)
The ending was a bit abrupt. But ,,, also could be nicer running the credits...
Didn’t know till reading the comments that this was adapted from an Arthur Miller play.
A young Burt so handsome. Who was Nancy? It’s kind of refreshing to see an average girl playing her part. Rather than eye candy.
As a 71 year old this was before my time, yet is comforting - as we baby boomers saw the aftermath of the war in our times. And it feels like a connection to a not so distant past.
Miller was always commenting on the inherent evils of capitalism, and how a man sees himself through that lens.
I like reading the comments... don’t you?
Movies made before our moral decay had principal undertones for the most part….wish that were true today❤❤
Good story line. Plus good acting. Makes a good film to watch.
Thank you for posting this film [just now subscribed] The plot and acting are nearly at a Shakespearian level of message. lt has application for personal decision-making today.
It is nearly Shakespearian!!
“But I think to him, they were all my sons” Powerful Line at the end.
Burt Lancaster and Edward G are the greatest and this film is so good.
I agree. I did some math. this was Lancaster's 8th role in 2 years when he was 35 and look how he stands up in scenes with 55 year old 25 year veteran Edward G. Robinson. He had the goods, all right. Also some call Lancaster mask face, but see that look of fear as he runs up the steps after the gunshot. I've been making a study and in a lot of his films there's that one scene with that one perfect expression that tells you everything about the character.
They don't make them like that anymore.
What a powerful movie.
Not seen or heard about this movie, but becoz of Edward G Robinson n Burt Lancaster tempt to watch this movie.May be only time two great talented actors together.
I recommend The Sea Wolf w/ Edward G. Robinson & John Garfield, also Larceny Inc. w/ Ribinson & Broderick Crawford - they'll both surprise you in that one!
This great movie screams : "There are no shortcuts in Life! "
Sleep is wonderful, it’s the best thing about living…..that’s a new one!
@@renatep.7566It might be if I could sleep.
@@sookie4195I hear you!
Inconcievable that Burt could be Edward's son by the looks of things.
Well dang, that turned into a rough one! Thanks for the upload tho, love Edward G.
We all should be responsible for our actions
Very nice story
Ty 4 uploading it
Not much more I can say , they don't make movies like this anymore. Everything was great.!
Absolutely agree, one of the finest movies ever made, superb acting!
they make movies better than before, the acting, sound, special affects, animation, etc etc. but yes this is a good movie
A young Harry Morgan.
And Arlene Francis
Go, Michigan!
Sad and genius writing. I think that because the man had grown up very poor, the fear of losing the security of money terrified and blinded him - a very human "villain". Sad all around, but of course a fantastic film and cast
Fantastic Film 🎥
Absolute classic. Thank you. ❤
Good movies all actors were.wonderful..and I love how Mr.Robinson expression in his face...how he looks down.. pause.then looks back up..and then he.looks you rite in your eyes..old "G'"
Great film and play. But I hate when suicide is used as a convenient plot devise- this film does it twice. It's the reason people respond to suicides by asking "Why would they do that?. As if there would be some logic behind them. There almost never is any logic- just depression.
Exactly
Not a great ending. I think they should have had him man-up and free her Dad.
You should always alert others that you are giving a spoiler so we can skip it. You didn't so now I won't be watching it. Thanks to you I know how it ends!
It never occurred to me I could "spoil" a classic film thats been out for 76 years. If knowing something about a great film spoiled it no one would watch films more than once.@@shan4078
@@shan4078If you hadn't read the comments before watching the movie then you wouldn't have read about how it ended. Watch the trailer next time which doesn't give away the ending.
If Burt Lancaster is in the movie it’s good,,,
Totally agree. I love me some Burt Lancaster
I love Burt Lancaster too! He reminds me of my Daddy!
He is so intense. Sometimes he can act so oddly.
My mom and dad saw the movie The Swimmer with Burt Lancaster. My parents walked out. They said all they saw on the screen was his butt.
Excellent film, good actors, script.
First viewing for me.
Thanks.
That was some kiss the father gave Annie. Yuck! The father's a little too touchy-feely with Annie.
I'm 75 & used to never give kissing a relative or someone close enough to pass as family a kiss, even on the lips. However, I have seen kissing on the lips become taboo. So, yeah, that's the first thing I thought.
Stupid people are so cocksure, intelligent people are full of doubt. @@jacquelynperry7941
The lips was a bit much especially as he was flirting anyway 😖. Love Edward G always
Thanks for posting this film, appreciate it
Amazing film and amazing play. I cannot imagine better actors. Very powerful. I love it. Thank you so much..
Superb film. Flawed thinking due to upbringing and the terrible strain of the war years.
Movies have so much TRUTH in them. He watched as men died in there death traps including his own son. Greed is ugly. Lying to everyone. Put an innocent man behind bars. What a miserable coward. Blaming everyone but HIMSELF. Good movie that’s for sure.
A powerful movie indeed.
Thank goodness for SAG-AFTRA . These creators are priceless.
Never seen such deep usa movie! ❤👍
Is it weird that Annie kisses Joe on the lips like that? Or is it just me?
It reminded me of my ex's family, they're american jewish, they always did that, everyone kissed on the lips. My family did the cheek kiss hello and goodbye, it was very awkward for me but you get use to it 22 yrs later.
Cultural thing. Some people used to do that. Some families still do.
E.G.R Great Actor
RIP🌹
Astonishing quality.
Thank you so very much for alouing me the Plesure to enjoy the best Movies' ever to be produced in Movie History,, No one in todays World comes even close,, to even dare compare is absurd, it would be like comparing pure Gold to Trash
The neighbor is Arlene Francis from "What's my line". Didn't know she ever made a movie.
Btw what year was this film released? Maybe 1948? Was Lancaster's production company involved in the film? Just wondering.... Great movie.
A film from a play by Arthur Miller is expected to be exceptional, and this is. At the beginning, I wondered about the meaning of the title. Then at the end Miller wraps it all up.
Wow great movie
I LOVE THIS FLIM!!! No matter how things change With the Human condition Things Stay the Same. Business Governments Politicians Family Dynamics interpersonal Family/Friends Associate Relationships! 2024
Past Present and Future! I’m here for it! Excellent Broadcasts, New Sub!💕💚🇺🇸🥰
Since he had already been tried and found not guilty, wouldn't he be covered by double jeopardy?
Not that he wasn't guilty and it should be him in prison, not his partner, but I guess he couldn't live with his own feelings of guilt.
Howard Duff, Annie’s brother, the lawyer.
Very good film.
Spoiler; if they ended the movie on EGR's final line, also the title, it would have been one if the finest movies I'd ever seen. For me his realization was the powerful moment the rest had been leading toward. Worse than death, worse than prison and shame, his full awareness of the horror his flawed thinking had resulted.
His lack of personal integrity and morality had made all the world utterly empty.
Fantastic screenplay and performances by all. A noble tale told well.
Right. I also loved that I didn't realize the meaning of the title until that very moment so it was doubly powerful. That doesn't happen that often in films.
Annie sat on that info for a long time. Edward G should have faced his partner and apologized to him like a man. Great movie.
VERY GOOD MOVIE 🍿 🎥BUT SAD 😢
I love this play! Chris is one of my all time favorite characters. This movie version is brilliant.
Loved this movie great makes you see classic film all the feelings and true morals give me more
What a great film, well worth watching . Fantastic artists. 👍🇬🇧
Never seen this. Great film.👍
People triy to take short cuts and the pride imprisons them and in the end the truth will set them and us free. ❤🙏💪👍❤
Uh huh, tell that to the government.
@@jacquelynperry7941 Òne life per person. Life is Life. Don't analyse it too much. All you have to do is not die. Just take as it comes because life is not fair. It's called life. Be grateful it's beautiful and one day we die. I don't mean to patronise but I suppose it is. It's just getting old. Luv yer. Live your own life and fu*k 'em. ❤👍💪🙏🤠❤

Wow! EGR and BL! I just started it.
🍿 This is not “Film Noir”. 🎦 It’s a nice crisp upload but it’s a sin to leave off the opening credits of any movie ! 🎥
What a brilliant movie ❤
Edward G Robertson - What - A - Class Act !” Victor Jory - Runs - - A - Close 2nd !” Know Who He Is ?? 🤷♀️
Decided to not read comments until the movie's over, too many spoilers!!!
Powerful movie
Great movie, goodnight
2:09 Thought it was the garage of my childhood until the door opened the wrong way. Funny how seeing something similar brings the mundane memories back.
I love these old films. They focus on characters and telling a good story.
A brilliant film except spoiled by the censor tube greed with too many interruptions for irrelevant ads. Sure you can skip but you lose something especially with the 10 second slots that just exposes greed.
🤔🤔🤔
Well said!!
It’s worth the money to upgrade to ad free.
That is why it is free for you to watch! Upgrade !!! Dont complain! People do this for people like myself who like to watch the oldies and can''t afford to upgrade. I would never complain about somehing that is basically free to me! Thanks to you all who make this possible!

would be tough to take a acting part along side Edgar G.; how would you stand out at all.
Whoa! I thought I had a complicated family!!!!

Good movie
He raised a bunch of simps and mommas boys, a bit like present day really.
I've never seen an Edward G movie I didn't like.
Chris is a strong character, not a wimp.
