As an older male I've never been interested in her career from her early days and thought she was trashy when she changed her image for her Bangerz phase, but since this revolution and her focus on MUSIC and not image and controversy I have an absolutely new found respect for this girl. She's totally turned it around and she's all for the energy and passion of it, and not the facade. Such a great voice for rock. Well done Miley - this is how to be a true musical star. You care for your craft now and it shows. She totally deserves all the respect and credit for her work. Thank you for being an exception in this industry of talentless clones and superficiality. Here's hoping we see a return to real music and melody and instrumentalism which has been so sorely missing from the commercial market.
She’s always wanted to go this direction but she said the pop was for her fans and what they wanted so she would just do rock covers live to fulfill what she wanted
you can't just pick the part you like, either you take her at whole value or not at all, I'm sure ppl go through transition process, nothing is built in one day or year, neither is music artist or actor etc... people have phases and Miley is no different, people said the same thing about Lady Gaga or even Madonna so why is Ms. Cyrus any different than they were, she not! I enjoyed some of her stuff and let it go the rest of it, i didn't follow her music or acting career either, but i didn't judge her harshly either, because she's a person and not some trash some people like to put a label on a person, and neither should you, either you're an honest person on the inside or you're a total douche!

@@idonteperfect6943 I'd agree with that, since Pop makes much more money than generic rock has, don't get me wrong, Rock is still popular but not as much as Pop is, and it caters to younger audience vs Rock or Alternative Rock/Heavily Metal is more or less Adult themed genre style of music that doesn't make much $$$.

I usually hate covers! However, this one wasn’t bad! I really can’t believe that I am even commenting on this! I am a 56 year old black man, and I have always loved Midnight Star. To take a song from, a very popular R&B band, and put a rock spin on it, seems a little foolish to me! However, Miley makes it work here. I will give her a pass, and that says a lot, as far as I am concerned. Usually I get offended when white artist take black artist’s song and cover them. Miley does a good job, if I must say. Music is music and it really makes no difference who is doing it! Music is indeed the universal language. Good job, Miley. You even satisfied an old prude, like myself. Good post! Peace.
