    Space X-mas NEWS:
Spotting the International Space Station streaking across our skies is always a magical experience - and it turns out Santa Claus just happens to be following the same route. "Saaaaantaaa"!!!
NASA's website reveals there will an opportunity for those in Grimsby www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/al... to see the ISS (International Space Santa) on Christmas Eve, although it's quite early in the morning. If you prefer a lie-in, there is also a chance to spot Father Christmas "heading home" shortly after 7am on Christmas morning.
At night time, the ISS is a bright object visible to the naked eye. You'd need a telescope to have any hope of spotting a bearded man with a heap of presents, but his shiny "sleigh" should be perfectly clear. Of course, many older children (and adults) find it pretty exciting to watch real-life astronauts whiz past.People who want to make sure they spot the ISS have a few minutes to do so. The best time for people in Grimsby is on Christmas Eve at 6:23 am. Look in the southwest direction and it will gradually pass overhead over the course of five minutes, reaching a maximum height of 51°.
If you miss spotting the ISS on Christmas Eve, people in Grimsby can see it again on Christmas morning as it passes at 7:10am. Look directly west and it will appear 10° over the horizon, reaching a maximum height of 63° over the course of seven minutes before disappearing just 10° over the eastern horizon.
Light cloud cover is forecast in the early morning on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, according to the Met Office. But, if the weather clears up, there is a very good chance of spotting the incredible object as it orbits Earth.
If it's your first time, remember the ISS is a bright object in the sky, not flashing or "blinking" at all. NASA explained: "Visible to the naked eye, it looks like a fast-moving plane only much higher and travelling thousands of miles an hour faster!"
It is currently being crewed by Frank Rubio, Nicole Mann, Josh Cassada, Koichi Wakata, Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitri Petelin, and Anna Kikina.
