"I feel really bad for Clary and her sibling issues" Accurate
My friend is currently reading this book and I'm silently laughing as she ships 'Sebastian and Clary'. I'm just waiting until the realization hits her. LOOOL.
Poor friend. XD
It's funny because I am thinking, in the program, Shadowhunters, people will probably start shipping Clary and Sebastian, and there's us book readers just going to sit there and see their faces, with a cocky-JaceHerondale-smile or smirk, saying "team Jace, all the way"
Kristiemaymay Kouloumanou , I hate Sebastian.
#Team Jace
Lin V , I would spoil everything. I just can't help it.
SidneyTheReader 20 team Jace forEVER
tHERE'S THIS ONE MOMENT IN THE BOOK WHERE MALEC KISSED FULL ON MOUTH AND I READ THAT PART DURING THE NIGHT TIME SO PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IS WHERE I AM MOST VULNERABLE SO I CRIED MY EYES OUT BECAUSE THEY FINALLY KISSED
Aaaaah....me too...I've been re-reading this series and when i read that scene War of Hearts was just playing in the back of mah head...
Red_Queen_of_Shadow-Hunters And_Crows Yass we Stan both the show and the books
fabiola_lala Can you tell me on which page is it? Cause I read it and CANT FIND IT!!
Series Fan I think it is when Clary is sitting on the dais and Isabelle maia and Simon are talking about how they have to bind together and stuff like the procedure and then he tells them to look at Alec and Magnus doing it
fabiola_lala I did the same thing!!!
I didn't think the Lightwoods knew they were purposely leaving Clary behind, I thought it was only Jace and Simon who knew.
Simon never saves the day? OHH wait until COHF you'll get your fill of Simon being badass and yeah lol :)
I adore these TMI reviews of yours. Are you going to do ones for TID?!?!
They only found out after Clary showed up at the door. Jace and Simon were the only ones that knew beforehand
Simon also saves the day at the end of City of Bones :o
Which one does COHF stand for
“Frickin’ Sebastian” is a great summary of this series lol
Jay Elizabeth so true 😂😂
My opinions on City of Glass:
1) I was upset/shocked when Max died.
2) This book was epic.
3) I didn't expect Valentine to die.
4) MALEC!!
5) I agree on basically what you said in the video
6) My favorite scene was when Isabelle took off Sebastian's hand with her whip!!! Freaking slayed it!!
7) I could literally go on forever about this book.
So much to talk about ahh! I legit just finished today and now I've started City of Fallen Angels.
MALEC FOREVER
+Kaitlyn Carroll hell yeah MALEC!
Tay Gregory , I LAUGHED WHEN I READ THAT ABOUT ISABELLE TOOK SEBASTIANS HAND OFF, I laughed.
I'm very evil. And I don't like Sebastian at all.
I finished it this morning and now I'm reading Clockwork Angel
Sydney Wilson same!
"Why can't it never be Jace getting injured"
...
My favorite character is Simon. He's just bae.
I'm currently headed to vidcon and won't be able to reply to comments next week. Thanks for watching guys!
i actually loved sebastian when he was first introduced ❤️
City of Glass was the best book out of city of ashes and city of bones
Clary was sooo naive, like, you don't know him, you just met him, he's creepy, don't go and tell him what you're doing, jeez. *Facepalm* Spot on review!
clary has multiple facepalm moments in the series but many in city of glass that could've been avoided. She's a great yet annoying characters at times :D Haha there's so many plot twists. Hodge shocked me in this one too!
I don't rub my books like that, but when I finished Clockwork Prince the other day I legit made out with Jem on the cover. So... we're all weirdo's here.
YourFriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey Im late to the series and just finished the series and cried so much but also was so happy😂
As soon as Sebastian came into the story I hated him.
ME TOO!!!! When i read in in the description of the book i was like: I HATE HIM and i don't know why but in the barely begining i hate him
I hate every new character, who comes in the way of Clace...So I also hated Sebastian from the beginning 😂😂.
I didn't hate him but really found him sus
I didn't trust him for a second
i got bad vibes off of sebastian the moment i met him and i was like: he’s bad... idek why but he’s bad
"Simon never gets a chance to save the day." *Just cries a river and drowns*
I actually trusted Sebastian and had a crush on him at first. Like, wow. i was so stupid.
Also, that Malec kiss was PERFECTION!!!!!!
"Sebastian, why are you such a cruel human being?" Oh you don't even know yet Jesse. You don't even know.
i love the mortal instruments, but in my opinion, the infernal devices is 100x better and more moving. clockwork princess is the most heartbreaking book i've ever read. you should do a book review on it too! but i do agree with you, i liked city of glass the most of the tmi series :)
The Lightwoods were waiting for Clary, Jace was the only one who didn’t want her to go.
in a way you're a bit like i imagined simon...
SPOILER BOOK 3
Am I the only one who knew from page 70/80 that the mirror was actually the Lake Lyn? Because I can't get out of my head that that was freaking obvious and was told to Clary and Jace on page 200, but were complitely shure on page 400. It was so obvious, I can't.
Everyone hates Sebastian and I understand why, but I love him, he's fabulous!
+Arielle Williams Troll
I mean, I love him as a villain but not as a person
I’m still shook that Max died...
WHAT DID HE DO TO ANYONE?? 😭😭
And what do you think about Magnus and Alec? Beacause you haven't talked about them in this video.
Everyone is saying that clary spilt so much to Sebastian, but I took it that she did that because he was her real brother. I’m not setting anything in stone or anything, but she even wondered herself why she was so open with him. I think Clare just wanted to pit in some foreshadowing. Idk, what do you all think?
The whole brother and sister thing was sooo frustrating, I was so glad when the whole thing was clarified. TID is amazing, I'm just on the second book right now, but legit is like 100 times better that TMI
All I'll say is you will die of feels
I'm already on the third. I'm dying.
COG was definitely my favorite until COHF. I found that, when the book reached its climax, it was impossible to put down. There were some predictable moments for me, but the big showdown with Sebastian left me speechless. I honestly wasn't expecting the degree of Valentine's actions. and it was paced well and written beautifully. Ah, I loved it! I can't wait for you to reach City of Lost Souls or Heavenly Fire (^-^)
I feel like the only one who didn't like simon until the last three books. I found him really clingy to Clary. Also I loved sebastian
I hated Simon until City of Ashes. oh god the kissing scenes. sjbdbfjdjdjdndn But I was kind of....okay with Simon in CoG
I only started liking Simon in CoG. Before that I literally hated him.
Feels on City of Glass:
1.) Clary. Why. -_-
2.) Max. Why. :'''''''(
3.) Sebastian. wHY. :/
4.) MALEC. THANK YOU. XD
5.) Isabelle. BaDAsS. >.<
6.) Simon. Marry me. :'''')
Malec being out tho
"It was so ROMANTIC" That face I think expressed exactly how I felt hahaha. Clary just annoyed me so much throughout the whole series, but she does get better as the books go. Also, Simon is my baby so any time he was in any danger I FREAKED OUT hahaha. Great review, Jesse!
I'm so happy you're reading The infernal devices!!! They were soo good. Clockwork princess was amazing, I'm still not over it
Max is us fangirls. When Sebastian touches his book he's all like "Don't touch my book!"
R.I.P Maxwell Lightwood!
you are now officially my crush because of this video! i loved the way how you talked about the best parts in the book. city of glass is also my favorite in the series, so far. i'm still on the 4th book. but yea, that's it. it would have been cooler if you talked about magnus and simon kissing as well. hahahaha
OMG EVERYTHING YOU SAID WAS EXACTLY HOW I FELT
City of Glass is my fav book so far in this series and I freaking love it.
“Why can’t it ever be Jace getting injured?” Oh honey just you wait.
Whenever we first learned that Clary and Jace were siblings, I didn't believe it and whenever they're like "we're not siblings" I actually whispered "in your face Cassandra Clare. I knew it the whole time!" No joke 😂
This one is my fave from the entire series too! Just you wait until you read COHF
I don't like how Cassandra made Clary's character in the city of glass, i was expecting she'd grown to be smarter and more experienced because it's the 3rd book but was disappointed that she was even more naive and clueless...i wish she had the character of Hermione Granger, the problem solver than the headache that she is in this sequel. Will her character improve in the next books?
Sales Support , kinda yeah.
It will. And she can’t be Hermione Granger for God’s sake, she has her own personality and own opinions. Just because she’s redhead and probably has freckles doesn’t make her Hermione
Just finished it yesterday. I know I'm really late on the train! I loved this book. Totally agreed with you, Jesse!
Clary frustrates EVERYONE Jesse haha and I say Alicante like that too, I'm pretty sure Cassie says it like that too :)
SIMON SAVES THE FREAKIN DAY SOON. SOON.
I read most of the series last summer and I was glued to this book! I spent a whole day just reading; I was a little past the middle and it felt like the end. Such an exciting book. I can't wait for you to read TID.
This is one of my favourite series! I thought the second and final books were the best. I loved all of the action and characters created in the fantasy world
I live in Alicante!!! Small city in Spain!! Cant believe they have the same name
Am I the only person who actually loved Sebastian as a character, just the way he talked and acted around jace in the scene just before jace killed him? Also yes clary does irritate me a little. Also the fact that we found out that the first inquisitor told jace on the ship ‘you’re Father would be proud of you’ I felt that that meant she knew somehow that Jace had everything he needed to find out that Stephen was his biological Father, and that The inquisitor had believed that he would find out!
I love City of Glass. That was my favorite book until now. I'm reading CoHF and I think this one is going to be my new TMI baby
This book is where the true love began.... I thought the first two were a shrug and a eh above "meh"... but then on this one I knew I'd be continuing....so glad because I LOVED every second of the Infernal Devices.
City of Glass is definitely my favourite and it should have ended there because it was a really good wrapped up satisfying ending
I feel you SO MUCH
OMG I loved this book too 'cuz it has a lot of feelings and while I was reading it, it made me feel upset, sad, depressed, happy and everything:3 I love your videos!!
The sabation and the kiss with clary
you forgot about the malec part and about how they came out
Max Lightwood....I put my book under the trash can...and then accidentally melded the plastic of my kitchen scissors to the burner of the oven I was so upset. I fucking hate Sebastian. I just finished it last night.
I think ALMOST Everyone Over Loves this Book;Including me!! You just get everything out of it!! OMG and TID is SO Good!
OMG, I just really really love this book ❤️ Best one in the series 👌
Okay so I cried when Max died. Idk why. I just did. When the book ended I just cried happy tears because all of my babies were happy and all was well (for now at least). I just loved this book so much! I just love it love it love it love it love it!!!!
city of glass is my fav book in the mortal instruments followed by city of heavenly fire!
jace was the only one who wanted to leave her the lightwoods didnt know.
but yes i agree with basically everything you're saying!
I totally agree with the whole Max thing, it was so so so sad. It's not fair!
But this book is actually my favourite of TMI, because it has brought some logic to what was happenning and, like, normal end. Tried to read the fourth one, but couldn't - for me this story was already over :(
I loved city of glass!! I totaly Agree with your comments About The book!
I was super sad when Max died. I felt a connection to him cuz he liked Naruto like me. Shames!
I LOVED Clary in this book because even though she's frustrating, she was very strong & did many things in the book that made me like her.
Of course, Jace is always awesome like usual. I loved the part when he went to her room. I know, messed up, but it was super cute.
I was super mad when Hodge died. It was also obvious that there was something wrong with Sabastian cuz there was something off about him. I didn't get why Clary didn't see that, but I guess she was desperate to forget about Jace.
City of Glass was my absolute favorite!!! That is before Infernal Devices and continuation of Mortal Instruments was announced lol
I really loved city of glass!
about sebastian being sketchs YES I WAS LIKE: THIS DUDE IS SO SKETCHY
Favorite book in the whole saga! Though I like TID better, but the whole Shadowhunter + Downwolder battle was so awesome! I can't believe the whole saga is over, though we will have two more so there's still more shadowhunters to go.
my three favorite books are city of heavenly fire, city of glass and clockwork prince. Clockwork princess and lady midnight are close seconds.
In the first book I loved hodge but when we found out he was evil I sobbed. When we found him in the third book in the hard prison I was happy but sadly fucking Sebastian killed him
Hi Jesse! I'm L.T., and I just recently read City of Glass.
I COMPLETELY agree with you about the issue of Jace and the Lightwoods leaving Clary behind. It was, overall, irresponsible, because (Like you said) Clary is very headstrong and would go anyway.
And about the Hodge reveal, I know right! I guess I wasn't happy that Hodge was there after what he did, but I was excited and intrigued.
Your background in this video is so awesome. I had to get the books online because I live in Japan, and the pictures on the website were the original covers, but the ones that came were the newer covers. Ughhhhh. I was so upset because I actually thought I was gonna get the cool, shiny, original covers, but I didn't. I wish I had them
I LOVE City of Glass, I cried at the end. CoG, CoLS, and CoHF are the best of TMI series.
i just finished city of glass. yes I am sooo behind. but oh my goshhh I have a huge bookhangover. it was amazing !!!
The only thing I didn't like was the way they revealed Sebastian was the real Jonhatan. I was like "How could she guess it so quickly?" when Jocelyn told Clary about it, it was like something forced. I would have liked an scene where Sebastian, Jace and Jocelyn, where she discovers the truth. I mean Jocelyn didn't even see Sebastian.
So far City of Glass and Lost Souls are my favourites. I cried when Jace died though. I knew he'd be back, but I still cried! I'm on Heavenly Fire now and its SOO good! I wish It was the summer holidays so I could read it all day and night cause I can't put it down!
I loved the part where Clary was with the angel at the lake with jace and and she gives him her wish after Valentine killed Jace!!
*May Contain City of Glass Spoilers*I feel like Clary opened up to Sebastion so quickly, (which I thought was weird to), because she wanted a distraction so she could try to get over Jace. Also I loved how Isabelle saved Jace at the end.
Magnus and Alec in City of Glass made me squeal in happiness and excitement
"Freaking Sebastien" hahah I was just like you while reading the book
COG is my favorite book in the series, so epic and action packed and far less messy than some of the others.
"Even if she has a stupid idea, she runs with that stupid idea" my new mantra
When Sebastian was introduced I was like "I don't trust this kid" and then when we found out that he was evil I was like "yes! I was so right!"
This is my absolute FAVORITE BOOK SERIES EVER. And you are also very very handsome. But OMG when you get to City of Heavenly Fire... Not the best book but an incredible ending to the series.
It's my favorite part from the first three too. (My all in all favorite is City of Lost Souls). Specially the end, because everything is so unexspected! I actually really like Sebastian and I don't really know why :D
I pronounce Raziel like RAziel, but I read the whole book in German, so I pronounce it German some kind of....
Also great video, nearly same points on my side too :D Hodge apperience was really unexspected.
Sry for my far away from perfect English.
Greets from Germany :D
city of glass was F*CKING AMAZING
City of Glass is my favorite in the series. I'm not sure if it's correct but I pronounce Alicante the same way you do. I totally agree that Clary is a frustrating character. Especially in the first couple books, she was just UGHHH!
My favorite one in the series other than Clockwork Princess! Oh and I do rub my covers *awkwardly laughs*
I just finished reading this book. It took me so long to finish it because, as you said, the beginning was really slow. Because of that, I ended up reading three other stand alone books while reading the beginning of this book because I just kept getting kind of bored of it. But after I finished the third stand alone, I started reading again and I finished it in less than two weeks. It was such a great, thrilling book that just kept me wanting to read on and on. After finishing it, I kind of wanted to keep reading the mortal instruments series, but because it's recommended to read tmi and tid in the order that they came out, the next book I'm reading is clockwork angel. Still, I'm really excited to start reading the infernal devices series.
I pronounce Alicante the same way as you and I'm British. I also agree that the first half of the book is slow. I took a break from this book because it was so slow and when I picked it up again, it turned out I had just gotten to the interesting part!
Great video! Yes good! Read the infernal devices first! Yay! I can't wait for you to read them!
I didn't understand what clary did at the end with the stele when jace was still dead and there was something about what valentine said on the boat when it was destroyed and she writes it on the ground...?!.....please if you understood that part please telllllllllll!!!
I'm getting the new book covers and I'm really happy even though they are paperback
This is my favourite book in the TMI series. I loved it so much, but I hated it when Max and Sebastian died! 😿
I loved City of Glass. It was my favorite, but I've only read the first three books soo... And I quite like Sebastian XD I don't know why. I like him more than I like Jace....and I know that is NOT good..And YESSS you're going to read TID!!! Yesssssssss!!!
I've heard from everyone that the next one isn't good. idk if I want to continue. DECISIONS
Love this book and everything in this video is basically all my thoughts on this book and on the city of Bones and ashes in his videos are basically my thoughts on those books as well
I felt the exact same way about this book! Love you man!
This one is my favorite out of the series too! I haven't read cohf yet, but I think this one will still be my fav.
I don't know if I should continue tmi or not... I've read the first two, and I've watched some spoiler filled reviews on city of glass, so I know what happens in that book. I really want to read the other shadowhunter books, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to finish tmi
