I ship Jessa as much as I ship Wessa (and I ship Wessa a lot!). Seriously I can't choose, how can you be so cruel talking about Jessa like that? Tessa never accepted his proposal because she'd pitty Jem, she loved Jem. Her heart was full of pure love about him. She loved Jem and she loved Will and it is perfectly ok with me because she never turned one against the other. In addition, how could Jem understand Will's feelings about Tessa? He would always treat her like trush infront of everyone because of the curse, so how can you judge him like that? Furthermore, I do believe that if Will had talk to Jem about his feelings for Tessa he would' ve took the proposal back, because no matter how much he loved Tessa, Will would always be his parabatai and would always put HIM first.

What the heck? Christine 99% of the time I agree with your videos, but how can you bash Jem like that? You accuse Jem of being selfish and insensitive of all things, when he is basically the epitome of goodness. He sacrificed so many things for Will's sake and is pretty much the best parabatai that anyone could ask for, whereas Will often disregards Jem's feelings. Also, Jem thought that Tessa didn't love Will, because of the end of Clockwork Angel. Will and Tessa's relationship is suppressed so much, and Jem would be at least slightly blinded by his own love for Tessa. It's really unfair to assume that it should have been perfectly clear to Jem that WIll and Tessa loved eachother. TESSA didn't even know she loved Will. Meanwhile, Jem has been perfectly obvious about his affections, and Tessa reciprocated his feelings. It was really WIll who was thickheaded and didn't realize that Jem was in love with Tessa.

(spoiler) at this point I think Tessa does love Jem, I think she always has. Cassandra Clare mentions how she was meant to be with both boys, just at different times. And that she loves them both equally. I don't believe that. I think Tessa was in love with Will, but not with Jem. I think her love for Will was the type that she could feel it in her bones, Jem was in her heart, but not her whole body. If that makes sense?
Sleepyunicorn You said how you don't believe she loved them equally, even though Cassandra specifically stated that Tessa DID. It is a fact. Cassandra created these characters, and if she says that Tessa loved them both equally, its not up for interpretation. It becomes as much of a fact as the fact that her hair color is brown. And, this comment this isn't a matter of who she loved more, this is a matter of Will and Jem's reactions to how the other felt for Tessa, and how readers felt about Jem and Will's obliviousness of the other's feelings. We are not discussing who she loves more, for that will strike up an unneeded but commonly used discussion, that will turn this fandom and series into the fandom of a series that I am not found of. So, I would appreciate it if you didn't bring it up.

In regards to your question about Tessa's sexual education, in those days, it was common not to tell a woman anything about sex until the day of her wedding. This continued well into the 20th century, and other related aspects of learning the basics of female anatomy. Just go ask older women about how they found out about their periods. My own doctor thought she was dying, because her mother told her nothing about it. I could be wrong on this, but I don't think sex became a part of a standard education until the late 1960s, and even now there's still plenty about sexual education that is censored because of weary parents and debates over whether or not this is even a school's responsibility to teach. Not that Tessa ever would have gotten close to an education this thorough. Depending on where she lives, her education probably would have been as high as an 8th grade education (high school if she were lucky or didn't marry young) and possibly learning French.
Okay, I am here with an unpopular opinion, which is I ship Jessa more than Wessa, and I love Jem more than Will. I just want to point out things that made me SO FRUSTRATED that no one else is mentioning: So, yes, Jem proposed to Tessa, she said yes, and a lot of the fandom was crying and upset. I'm understand that because I get that most of you ship Wessa. But, Christine, you said you were mad at Jem for proposing, saying how could he not notice Will's feelings for Tessa, how did he not notice how his best friend felt. Well, Will didn't notice Jem's feelings for Tessa either, because apparently, guys are too oblivious for their own good. So, yea, Jem proposed, BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW WILL FELT. But, then, when Tessa tells Will that she is engaged to Jem, HE TELLS HER TO CALL OFF THE ENGAGEMENT!!! He basically tells her to go break his best friends heart. ARE WE ALL FORGETTING THAT!?!?!? You can feel bad for Will in that scene because his heart is broken, I did too, but as soon as he told her to do that, I was pissed. What type of a person does that? So yea, Jem proposed to Tessa, because HE DIDN'T KNOW!!! If he did, I'm sure he wouldn't have done that, because when Jem does find out in Clockwork Princess, he is fine with it. He told Will to forget about finding him a cure or staying by his side as he died and to go save Tessa. But when Will finds out how Jem feels, first instinct, he needs to do anything to be with Tessa so go break Jem's heart. Of course, later on he feels terrible for that, but right then, I was pissed. You don't just tell someone to break your best friend's heart. Not to mention, in Clockwork Princess, when Will is with Tessa after they both believe that Jem is dead, THEY HOOK UP RIGHT THERE AND THEN. I don't care that they thought that this was their only chance because they were trapped there, what type of person does that when they believe their best friend, who is like a brother to them, or was their husband to be is dead? You should be in mourning, you should be sad, not passionately making love. Even if Tessa wasn't engaged to Jem and he was just a good friend of them both but everything else in the books was the same, you don't do that when you think your best friend is dead! Do you think Clary and Jace would do that if they believed Alec or Simon or Izzy was dead? NO!! Yes, I'm sure they would comfort each other, but they would do NOTHING like that, even if they were likely to die the next day. I think Cassandra could have put that Wessa scene in a different part of the book, then I wouldn't mind. So, basically, the scene that made most of the fandom cry and the scene that most of the fandom loved made me pissed at most of the fandom's favorite character. Most of you will probably disagree with me, or even say that I probably only feel this way because I prefer Jessa and I prefer Jem BUT my friend who is torn between the two agrees with me, agrees that Will pissed her off when he told Tessa to call off the engagement, agrees that the Wessa scene could have waited, that it was too soon in regards to what was happening. Okay, I'm done. Um, if you got this far, thanks for reading all of that. I look forward to the endless comment fight this is probably going to cause, but I just had to get it off my chest. And Christine, I just want to know, did you changed or tweaked your opinion since making this video? Because, in this, you seen strongly against Jem but in future videos it seems like you are more okay with him
Thank you! She makes it sound like Jem is a horrible parabatai, when Will is really so much worse. Plus Will and Tessa's relationship was basically hidden, whereas Jem went to great lengths to court Tessa properly make his feelings perfectly clear.
Also, I would like to add something that I realized upon looking up some quotes for English class: In Clockwork Princess, Will says to Magnus, “If Jem dies, I cannot be with Tessa. Because it will be as if I were waiting for him to die, or took some joy in his death, if it let me have her. And I will not be that person. I will not profit from his death." REALLY WILL? REALLY? Because, as I recall, it took you LESS THAN A DAY after you thought Jem was dead to hook up with Tessa. You became that person you said you wouldn't be. -_- Literally, he went against what he said in the same book he said it -_- I have become increasingly pissed at Will these last few months
I love Jem, and Will and Tessa. It's tough because all the characters are so loveable in this love triangle and it hurts that one must be left out. (which in the whole scheme of things they done :)) ) So I was frustrated when Jem proposed to Tessa because of the timing. However, I knew that Tessa would some how end up with Will. (mainly because i read all the TMI's before the TID)

When I finished the chapter where will Tessa agreed to marry Jem, I was crying like crazy. And in my thoughts I was screaming, I HATE YOU TESSA!!!! I HATE YOU JEM!!!! I was crying for about a hour. I couldn't stop. My heart was broken. I just wanted to throw the book away! I wanted to kill Tessa and Jem, for breaking Will's heart! I thought I would die, from sadness.

Christine, I love you, and I agree with most of your reviews, but bashing Jem is just a no from me. I got really pissed at Jem when he punched Will and was cold to him after the scene in the opium den, but you have to see things from Jem's point of view. Jem loves Will, and to see Will playing around with something that was killing him hurt him badly. But I also see from Will's POV and how lonely and depressed he must feel, 5 years of lies and pushing people away? That's painful as hell. I CRIED MY EYES OUT WHEN JEM PROPOSED. I Felt for Jem and his sickness, and he really does love Tessa. Both boys were unaware of how the other felt about Tessa. If it had been the other way around and Will had proposed to Tessa before Jem did, I'm sure Jem would've done the exact same thing for Will. (WHEN WILL GAVE TESSA TO JEM AND TOLD TESSA TO MARRY JEM FOR THE SAKE OF JEM'S HAPPINESS I WAS BAWLING MY EYES OUT BECAUSE MY HEART WAS TORN) So my conclusion: Both of them loved Tessa equally, and Tessa loved them both equally as well, that's evident in CoHF. I just can't stand it when anyone bashes wither Jem or Will.

Ok I'm sooo late but I've just read this book and I really can't understand why people are arguing about who's the best between Will and Jem. With such a strong parabatai bond, they would have never wanted to be compared to eachother, they both are beautiful characters with their pros and cons, among which their being oblivious to the other friend's feelings for Tessa. Yes I like Will more bc of his personality, yes I think the relationship between Jem and Tessa is more like a friendship; as someone already said here in the comments, Jem is more in love with the idea of being in love despite his illness, while I think Tessa actually has real feelings for him bc he made her feel safe, but her physical and romantic attraction for Will is predominant and stronger, she just doesn't want to break Jem's heart so she accepts to marry him and that's it. Now excuse but I have to emotionally get ready for CPRINCESS because I know it's going to be painful.

I'm probably late with this but ok I only just read CP now. But: I don't like how Will and Jem are compared to eachother as persons. We only just got to know the real Will (which to me, if he was a real person, I would fall head over heels in love with him) and we know that Jem is like the kindest person in the world. Jem is like a lil' teddybear I want to hold day and night, and I would make passionate love to Will... day and night. BUT I do feel like the romance between them and Tessa is worth the debate. She feels comfortable with Jem, she loves him and feels sad for him. But just as a friend, if you ask me. Just as two friends would also have those moments like "hmmm how would it be like to have sex lolzz" but then they 're like nah nevermind. I do believe Jem is in love with Tessa, but I don't think his intentions are the right ones. He is in love with the thought of being in love before he dies. He's in love with the thought of someone taking care of him before he dies. And then you have Will. Beautiful, stormy Will. My goodness. It's clear Cassie wanted us to imagine Wessa as like thousands of sparks every. single. time. they see eachother. Tessa even says so herself: every time she walks into a room where Will is, she just feels her whole body reacting to it. THAT IS REAL DEEP INTENSE LOVE. I love Jem, and I love Will just the same. But Wessa would be my way to go. I haven't read Clockwork Princess yet tho ;)

I just read this book..and oh god, how i loved it! After reading the first book and being dreadfully disappointed in it, I can say, that I didn't really have the highest hopes for this one - but by the angel, was i suprised! This book is much more entertaining than the first one, and had me wondering, guessing and plotting what would happen next! I really feel in love with the characters, the way that i wished i had in clockwork angel, and started to care for them. Also Tessa is really great in this one, so witty and definitely incredibly strong and powerful. But I gotta say.. that whole thing with her and Jem being engaged.. I know how wonderful, sweet and caring that boy is - like someone else said he's the epitome of good - but when she has to tell herself that she loves him.. it's just so hard, because he's a great guy and most caring, but I just don't feel that she loves him, and maybe even deserves him.. But I have read City of Heavenly fire, so I know who she will end up with, but still... THIS BOOK, URGH, SO MANY FEELINGS

I'm a hard core wessa shipper and I adore Will. Even though Jem is not my favourite, I was kinda offended at what Christine said. But to all dear jessa shippers, lets be a bit softer towards Christine and the others who have the same opinion as her. For us wessa shippers, that was the most tragic thing that could ever happen next to Will... well, what they said in the clockwork princess epilogue. After that book ended, most of us were probably hating on Jem temporarily because we were distraught. Christine is obviously a wessa shipper and this is just the Post- Clockwork Prince- Syndrome-For-Wessa- Shippers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying what she said about Jem. why is it every time there's a make-out scene between will and Tessa he always takes out her hair he can never leave her pens alone the reason why they can never get far enough in the make-out scenes of because he fools around in her hair too much I think it's adorable and hilarious at the same time!♡!

There are so many allusions to Will as Sidney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities. I feel like they won't be able to find a cure for Jem, but Will will find a rune that'll transfer Jem's sickness to him that only parabatai can use. But Jem would never allow that, so he'll wait until Jem is actually DYING to use it, and then Will will die with Jem's sickness. And then maybe the angel will bring him back? Because he doesn't have the Herondale mark, so maybe he's the one that starts that.
I love Jem and Will so much. I had so many conflicting emotions when Jem proposed. Seriously. I sat on my bed and sobbed and t muttered to myself for about ten minutes. I love Jem.I do. Ah I JUST finished this book and it was so amazing!! I totally thought that was Jem on the cover, but I had heard someone say it was Will... which just confused me. I pretty much agreed with every single thing you said about this book. Wow. The ending, when you feel such JOY for Will and he is going to actually get to tell Tessa how he is feeling without worrying if he will KILL her or not.. and then JEM has to go and propose.. like you said, I actually really like Jem, but not with Tessa..
I think demon rooms are a common occurrence in shadow hunter institutes because remember when Will is showing Tessa around in CA and he's all like oh don't go into the demon room
I think Gabriel is going to try to mess around with Cecily to get back at Will for messing with his sister, and then Cecily and Gabriel end up actually falling for each other. Then since Cecily basically looks like the girl-version of Will, that's where Alec gets his black hair and blue eyes from.
I liked Clockwork Prince the most out of the three. But the books are amazingly written. The author made all the characters important as well as their stories.
One thing you didn't make too clear: when Will was like eleven or twelve, he found his father's Pyxis which houses demonic energy and traps demons. His mom was human so his dad gave up Shadowhunting to marry her, but he still had all his stuff from his life as a Nephilim. Anyway Will accidentally releases a demon and his older sister, Ella, comes to save him. The demon supposedly cursed him and said that everyone he loved would die and it'd start with Ella. The next morning, Ella is dead and has these weird welts and sores and bumps all over her. Will ran away to the institute. Many years later on their way to Yorkshire, Will, Tessa, and Jem find a house and an automaton lets a girl out of the carriage. Will (the threesome watching from a distance) obviously knows her and we later find out that she is his little sister, Cecily.
I agree, Jem and Tessa are both selfish.. Tessa is 100% selfish while Jem just assumes everything Will does concerns him. He's good but he's also not as a good a friend to Will as Will is to him. Jem really never does anything for Will where Will sacrifices everything including his one true love for Jem...
Okay, I get that you wrote this a long time ago but I think you're entirely wrong. How can you say that Jem hasn't done anything for Will? Anything Will did wrong, Jem never criticised him, he stood by him through everything. In Clockwork Princess after Tessa was taken and Jem found out that Will loved her. Jem sent Will after her, he knew he was going to die, he wanted Will to rescue her not just for her sake but for Will's. When Will found out Jem loves Tessa, he immediately dismissed it, saying he couldn't believe it and that Jem would be able to handle it an that she and him should call off their engagement, what kind of person does that make Will? And again, I won't be able to forgive either Will or Tessa for this, after Jem "died" Will and Tessa slept together. Are you kidding? I was so angry about that. But that's my opinion.
I think that Lilith was in this book cause when the book went up to the part at the masquerade ball, the demon Benedict was flirting with had snake eyes just like Lilith.

She loved Jem and she loved Will and it is perfectly ok with me because she never turned one against the other. In addition, how could Jem understand Will's feelings about Tessa? What the heck? Christine 99% of the time I agree with your videos, but how can you bash Jem like that? You accuse Jem of being selfish and insensitive of all things, when he is basically the epitome of goodness. He sacrificed so many things for Will's sake and is pretty much the best parabatai that anyone could ask for, whereas Will often disregards Jem's feelings. Also, Jem thought that Tessa didn't love Will, because of the end of Clockwork Angel. Will and Tessa's relationship is suppressed so much, and Jem would be at least slightly blinded by his own love for Tessa. It's really unfair to assume that it should have been perfectly clear to Jem that WIll and Tessa loved eachother. TESSA didn't even know she loved Will. In regards to your question about Tessa's sexual education, in those days, it was common not to tell a woman anything about sex until the day of her wedding. This continued well into the 20th century, and other related aspects of learning the basics of female anatomy. Just go ask older women about how they found out about their periods. My own doctor thought she was dying, because her mother told her nothing about it. I could be wrong on this, but I don't think sex became a part of a standard education until the late 1960s, and even now there's still plenty about sexual education that is censored because of weary parents and debates over whether or not this is even a school's responsibility to teach. Not that Tessa ever would have gotten close to an education this thorough. Depending on where she lives, her education probably would have been as high as an 8th grade education (high school if she were lucky or didn't marry young) and possibly learning French.
Okay, I am here with an unpopular opinion, which is I ship Jessa more than Wessa, and I love Jem more than Will.
I just want to point out things that made me SO FRUSTRATED that no one else is mentioning:
So, yes, Jem proposed to Tessa, she said yes, and a lot of the fandom was crying and upset. I'm understand that because I get that most of you ship Wessa. But, Christine, you said you were mad at Jem for proposing, saying how could he not notice Will's feelings for Tessa, how did he not notice how his best friend felt. Well, Will didn't notice Jem's feelings for Tessa either, because apparently, guys are too oblivious for their own good. So, yea, Jem proposed, BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW WILL FELT. But, then, when Tessa tells Will that she is engaged to Jem, HE TELLS HER TO CALL OFF THE ENGAGEMENT!!! He basically tells her to go break his best friends heart. ARE WE ALL FORGETTING THAT!?!?!? You can feel bad for Will in that scene because his heart is broken, I did too, but as soon as he told her to do that, I was pissed. What type of a person does that? So yea, Jem proposed to Tessa, because HE DIDN'T KNOW!!! If he did, I'm sure he wouldn't have done that, because when Jem does find out in Clockwork Princess, he is fine with it. He told Will to forget about finding him a cure or staying by his side as he died and to go save Tessa. But when Will finds out how Jem feels, first instinct, he needs to do anything to be with Tessa so go break Jem's heart. Of course, later on he feels terrible for that, but right then, I was pissed. You don't just tell someone to break your best friend's heart.
Not to mention, in Clockwork Princess, when Will is with Tessa after they both believe that Jem is dead, THEY HOOK UP RIGHT THERE AND THEN. I don't care that they thought that this was their only chance because they were trapped there, what type of person does that when they believe their best friend, who is like a brother to them, or was their husband to be is dead? You should be in mourning, you should be sad, not passionately making love. Even if Tessa wasn't engaged to Jem and he was just a good friend of them both but everything else in the books was the same, you don't do that when you think your best friend is dead! Do you think Clary and Jace would do that if they believed Alec or Simon or Izzy was dead? NO!! Yes, I'm sure they would comfort each other, but they would do NOTHING like that, even if they were likely to die the next day. I think Cassandra could have put that Wessa scene in a different part of the book, then I wouldn't mind.
So, basically, the scene that made most of the fandom cry and the scene that most of the fandom loved made me pissed at most of the fandom's favorite character. Most of you will probably disagree with me, or even say that I probably only feel this way because I prefer Jessa and I prefer Jem BUT my friend who is torn between the two agrees with me, agrees that Will pissed her off when he told Tessa to call off the engagement, agrees that the Wessa scene could have waited, that it was too soon in regards to what was happening.
Okay, I'm done. Um, if you got this far, thanks for reading all of that. I look forward to the endless comment fight this is probably going to cause, but I just had to get it off my chest.
And Christine, I just want to know, did you changed or tweaked your opinion since making this video? Because, in this, you seen strongly against Jem but in future videos it seems like you are more okay with him

I couldn't stop. My heart was broken. I just wanted to throw the book away! I wanted to kill Tessa and Jem, for breaking Will's heart! I thought I would die, from sadness.

Christine, I love you, and I agree with most of your reviews, but bashing Jem is just a no from me. I got really pissed at Jem when he punched Will and was cold to him after the scene in the opium den, but you have to see things from Jem's point of view. Jem loves Will, and to see Will playing around with something that was killing him hurt him badly.
But I also see from Will's POV and how lonely and depressed he must feel, 5 years of lies and pushing people away? That's painful as hell.
I CRIED MY EYES OUT WHEN JEM PROPOSED. I Felt for Jem and his sickness, and he really does love Tessa. Both boys were unaware of how the other felt about Tessa. If it had been the other way around and Will had proposed to Tessa before Jem did, I'm sure Jem would've done the exact same thing for Will. (WHEN WILL GAVE TESSA TO JEM AND TOLD TESSA TO MARRY JEM FOR THE SAKE OF JEM'S HAPPINESS I WAS BAWLING MY EYES OUT BECAUSE MY HEART WAS TORN)

Yes I like Will more bc of his personality, yes I think the relationship between Jem and Tessa is more like a friendship; as someone already said here in the comments, Jem is more in love with the idea of being in love despite his illness, while I think Tessa actually has real feelings for him bc he made her feel safe, but her physical and romantic attraction for Will is predominant and stronger, she just doesn't want to break Jem's heart so she accepts to marry him and that's it. Now excuse but I have to emotionally get ready for CPRINCESS because I know it's going to be painful.

I'm probably late with this but ok I only just read CP now. But: I don't like how Will and Jem are compared to eachother as persons. We only just got to know the real Will (which to me, if he was a real person, I would fall head over heels in love with him) and we know that Jem is like the kindest person in the world. Jem is like a lil' teddybear I want to hold day and night, and I would make passionate love to Will... day and night.
BUT I do feel like the romance between them and Tessa is worth the debate. She feels comfortable with Jem, she loves him and feels sad for him. But just as a friend, if you ask me. Just as two friends would also have those moments like "hmmm how would it be like to have sex lolzz" but then they 're like nah nevermind. I do believe Jem is in love with Tessa, but I don't think his intentions are the right ones. He is in love with the thought of being in love before he dies. He's in love with the thought of someone taking care of him before he dies. And then you have Will. Beautiful, stormy Will. My goodness. It's clear Cassie wanted us to imagine Wessa as like thousands of sparks every. single. time. they see eachother. Tessa even says so herself: every time she walks into a room where Will is, she just feels her whole body reacting to it. THAT IS REAL DEEP INTENSE LOVE.
I love Jem, and I love Will just the same. But Wessa would be my way to go.

I just read this book..and oh god, how i loved it! After reading the first book and being dreadfully disappointed in it, I can say, that I didn't really have the highest hopes for this one - but by the angel, was i suprised!
This book is much more entertaining than the first one, and had me wondering, guessing and plotting what would happen next! I really feel in love with the characters, the way that i wished i had in clockwork angel, and started to care for them. Also Tessa is really great in this one, so witty and definitely incredibly strong and powerful.
But I gotta say.. that whole thing with her and Jem being engaged.. I know how wonderful, sweet and caring that boy is - like someone else said he's the epitome of good - but when she has to tell herself that she loves him.. it's just so hard, because he's a great guy and most caring, but I just don't feel that she loves him, and maybe even deserves him..
But I have read City of Heavenly fire, so I know who she will end up with, but still... THIS BOOK, URGH, SO MANY FEELINGS

I liked when they talked about jessamine carving JG into her cell after nate died because jace ends up in that same cell in city of fallen angels and sees the JG and wonders what that was about. And now i finally know. lol
I'm a hard core wessa shipper and I adore Will. Even though Jem is not my favourite, I was kinda offended at what Christine said. But to all dear jessa shippers, lets be a bit softer towards Christine and the others who have the same opinion as her. For us wessa shippers, that was the most tragic thing that could ever happen next to Will... well, what they said in the clockwork princess epilogue. After that book ended, most of us were probably hating on Jem temporarily because we were distraught. Christine is obviously a wessa shipper and this is just the Post- Clockwork Prince- Syndrome-For-Wessa- Shippers. Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying what she said about Jem. Just cut down on all the hubbub, just a bit, shall we? :)

There are so many allusions to Will as Sidney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities. I feel like they won't be able to find a cure for Jem, but Will will find a rune that'll transfer Jem's sickness to him that only parabatai can use. But Jem would never allow that, so he'll wait until Jem is actually DYING to use it, and then Will will die with Jem's sickness. And then maybe the angel will bring him back? Because he doesn't have the Herondale mark, so maybe he's the one that starts that.
I love Jem and Will so much. I had so many conflicting emotions when Jem proposed. Seriously. I sat on my bed and sobbed and t muttered to myself for about ten minutes. I love Jem.I do. And he deserves love, but Will has lived the past five years thinking that he can't love, and he finally gets the chance and then he GETS SHATTERED. Broke my heart. Don't know about yours.

Ah I JUST finished this book and it was so amazing!! I totally thought that was Jem on the cover, but I had heard someone say it was Will... which just confused me. I pretty much agreed with every single thing you said about this book. Wow. The ending, when you feel such JOY for Will and he is going to actually get to tell Tessa how he is feeling without worrying if he will KILL her or not.. and then JEM has to go and propose.. like you said, I actually really like Jem, but not with Tessa..
I think demon rooms are a common occurrence in shadow hunter institutes because remember when Will is showing Tessa around in CA and he's all like oh don't go into the demon room
I think Gabriel is going to try to mess around with Cecily to get back at Will for messing with his sister, and then Cecily and Gabriel end up actually falling for each other. Then since Cecily basically looks like the girl-version of Will, that's where Alec gets his black hair and blue eyes from.

I liked Clockwork Prince the most out of the three. But the books are amazingly written. The author made all the characters important as well as their stories.
One thing you didn't make too clear: when Will was like eleven or twelve, he found his father's Pyxis which houses demonic energy and traps demons. His mom was human so his dad gave up Shadowhunting to marry her, but he still had all his stuff from his life as a Nephilim. Anyway Will accidentally releases a demon and his older sister, Ella, comes to save him. The demon supposedly cursed him and said that everyone he loved would die and it'd start with Ella. The next morning, Ella is dead and has these weird welts and sores and bumps all over her. Will ran away to the institute.
Many years later on their way to Yorkshire, Will, Tessa, and Jem find a house and an automaton lets a girl out of the carriage. Will (the threesome watching from a distance) obviously knows her and we later find out that she is his little sister, Cecily.

I agree, Jem and Tessa are both selfish.. Tessa is 100% selfish while Jem just assumes everything Will does concerns him. He's good but he's also not as a good a friend to Will as Will is to him. Jem really never does anything for Will where Will sacrifices everything including his one true love for Jem...
Okay, I get that you wrote this a long time ago but I think you're entirely wrong. How can you say that Jem hasn't done anything for Will? Anything Will did wrong, Jem never criticised him, he stood by him through everything. In Clockwork Princess after Tessa was taken and Jem found out that Will loved her. Jem sent Will after her, he knew he was going to die, he wanted Will to rescue her not just for her sake but for Will's. When Will found out Jem loves Tessa, he immediately dismissed it, saying he couldn't believe it and that Jem would be able to handle it an that she and him should call off their engagement, what kind of person does that make Will? And again, I won't be able to forgive either Will or Tessa for this, after Jem "died" Will and Tessa slept together. Are you kidding? I was so angry about that. But that's my opinion.
I think that Lilith was in this book cause when the book went up to the part at the masquerade ball, the demon Benedict was flirting with had snake eyes just like Lilith.
