I think one of my favourite things about this book was seeing how much Alec has matured and gotten over his insecurities of dying and being forgotten. Alec was my favourite character from TMI and just seeing him get over that made me so happy

I read a theory that said that he might be tessa undercover. In one of the books mortmain made her turn into his dead father. So the guy is dead.

My main theory coming out of Lord of Shadows is that the Fey are drawing from all the warlocks (without the warlocks knowing or consenting of course) to do their anti-shadowhunter spells and that's why they're all sick.

Hey, I protect my books by keeping them out of direct sunlight (sunlight damages books), and I use a piece of paper and rest it on top of all my books to protect the pages from dust, you can fold the paper to size. If the corners of the covers on your paperbacks split, you can use some craft glue a tiny little dab of glue, and seal it back together!
VN nithish I usually put plastic covers on them. I have a friend who uses transparent contact paper as plastic covers

This book honestly like completely broke me. I loved Livvy and Robert (he honestly went through so much character development at the end of CoHF and during TSA and he's one of my faves honestly) and I was just so numb when they died (_Also isn't it simultaneously the cutest and most devastating thing ever that Robert has a mural of Alec on his wall? To me that's the symbol that shows just how far he's come and it makes his death even more heartbreaking_). This is probably the second most depressing ending to a book I've ever read (first place is _Half Lost_ by Sally Green). I was also pissed when Jon Cartwright died. Not especially sad, but really angry that it happened off-screen.
The one thing that angered me most of all was how TESTIMONIES FROM CLARY AND KIT COULD HAVE SAVED THE TRIAL. Like Clary could be like "oh Raziel condemned and killed Valentine for his actions against downworlders" or Kit could explain the history of the Treaty of Versailles and the rise of the Nazi party and show how the Cohort was exactly the same. OR THEY COULD HAVE TRIED THAT FUCKING WASTE OF BREATH ZARA WITH THE MORTAL SWORD RATHER THAN ANNABEL. *Magnus could have saved the trial too. [Christine was] right.*

CHRISTINE [HAS] GIVEN ME HOPE THAT THE GRUMPY GREEN BABY IS ALIVE. THANK [HER].*
Also I kinda want Cristina, Mark and Kieran to end up in a poly relationship. _Scratch the "kinda." I live for it._
I honestly expected the slaying of the Hunter to be the "sword of Wayland the Smith can cut through anything" thing but no she straight up destroyed the Mortal Sword. Bad. Ass. Is it just me or do you think that was meant to be a symbol that the old ways must be destroyed? _[Hannah was] right that a lot of people could be hunting Cortana though. That could be interesting._
Also Emma's gonna have hell to pay with six ancient hunters baying for her blood.
I didn't think it would be possible to despise a character as much as I despise Zara, Erec and the Unseelie King. I'm also super worried about Adaon.
*I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T NOTICE THIS UNTIL NOW, BUT JULIAN IS SO GONNA TRY AND RAISE LIVVY FROM THE DEAD. It's basically inevitable, right? (Sidenote, why are all of Cassandra Clare's recent projects about necromancy? TDA, TLH and the Magisterium series are all about raising the dead. Why?)*
ALSO GWYN AND DIANA ARE SO CUTE WHAT THE HELL?
_I had a completely random thought, but we_ know _that Kit's mother is important, and in fact recognisable to many people. What if it's the Seelie Queen? What if he is half-faerie? I don't think it's especially likely but it's a possibility._
_Every day I grow more convinced that the faerie boy is the son of Sebastian and the Seelie Queen, and that he is the weapon that Clary and Jace believe Sebastian left there. Also I foresee a future romance between him and Dru, because that's what Cassandra Clare does._
_I actually think Jules might be a sociopath - like a psychologically diagnosable one - because honestly after all that he's been through, it would make sense, and I honestly don't think that Cassandra Clare intended for there to be any more behind his actions than has been given. I mean it wouldn't be as unlikely as you'd think - one in twenty-five people has some form of sociopathy and Julian actually reminds me of one of my own characters, Callum, who is a sociopath._
_Kit, Mark, Ty and Kieran are my favourite characters in this entire world (except Magnus and Alec, though they're probably on par)._
_I also just wanted to say that I literally can't wait for The Lost Book of the White (the first book in the Malec trilogy)._
I cried a lot with Robert's death because he made his mistakes, he had his issues, but he was really trying to be a good man and to accept Alec. And he was very proud of his son.
YOUR BACKGROUND IS GOALS OMG. Also, I'm not saying Shade is Ragnor, but Shade is Ragnor and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Cassandra wrote in the first book that parabatai is a word from greek language. I am greek and i still don't get how the word and greek are connected.
I loved this book even though i think Lady Midnight was slightly better.
edit: I just watched the previous video of jesse about Lady Midnight . Now I think Lord of shadows was better.
I totally feel the same about the ship between Gwyn and Diana, and loved all about her situation. I almost choked myself when all the final scenes happened like whaaaaaat, I didn't expected that at all. omgg I need more.

My fav momement was when stupid zara told Alec something like "It's funny that Magnus is dying before you" and Alec gave a wonderful speech about how he dealt with Magnus's inmortality, how he accepted it and that he felt happy and lucky that someone would look after his son for ever and love him and remember him till' the end of times.

Jesse, here is a theory to think about. Remember the guy Shade that saved Kit, Ty and Liv. After reading Clockwork Princess, we hear about John Shade, The Magister's "father" who wanted to get revenge on shadowhunters. That or Shade is really Ragnor Fell who did not die and is just really nice. Also, loved the vid! One of my favorite booktubers!

I finished this book last night and saw this today. Still feel emotional a bit. That ending! I ❤️ Ty, Emma, Julian (even if he is ruthless - he loves too hard and he is ruthless even with himself) Kit Is growing on me so is Diana and Gwyn. I always loved Christina, Mark and Kieran. There relationship is so interesting to me. This was the best book In the series so far. Very developed and I am glad I actually bought it because I usually just wait for the library copy. Good job on the background! :)

Oh man, the moment Magnus pass out in the trial I started shaking. I knew something was up, and then I was a ball of tears. I suspected that one of the Blackthorns was going to die, but still was a shock ! And reading about all the family breaking down, and Julian calling her break my little heart in pieces. Everything is going to be soooo mess up in the next book, but I'm adamant that Cortana could cut the parabatai bond between Emma and Julian, specially now that it break the Mortal Sword. At least that gives me hope (?
