- Tactics Ogre Reborn changed crafting a lot. It's way smoother to access and use than before.

Exactly the video I was looking for to know what all changed from PSP version as I'm now entering Ch. 3 and like to run optimally as a veteran of the older versions. Thanks 👍

You would be interested to note that the Japanese word for magic (魔) is similar to the word for marijuana (麻). If you look closely, you can see that magic (魔) is actually a combination of demon (鬼) and marijuana (麻). I'm certain that this was not lost on the designers of the language.

No kidding? That's pretty neat. But yeah, years ago I had heard that story while around a bunch of Lithuanians while playing on my PSP, doing a No Incap run as one of the Berserkers picks up a leaf. Was a very "No way. Wait. Hold on. I was joking, is that what's really going on here?" moment.

Thank you for making this video. Google and the Tactics Ogre wiki had stone nothing to tell me about “The Blade” and the like.

Tiers of recipe:
1-Basically store.
2-Eelemental temples (the blade .. etc)
3-Palace of the dead 15-25(dagger echniridion,bow etc) carefull for the dagger and bow you can miss them i had to farm that damn banshee to get it.
I think they start dropping as low as lv 10 or 11, its before 15 from what I’ve seen
Baldur +1 if I am not mistaken adds bonus damage to undead which was very helpful during the first chapters.
It did in the PSP version, but doesn't in Reborn. I'd assume because POTD is already pretty auto-able, and that would basically allow for a permenant meta for the area.

The first rule of the Warren report is ALWAYS check the Warren report.

Looking forward to the next video ^^ the game got super challenging, which is good, all of a sudden. I think I need to switch up what I’m doing and running, I’m stubborn and want to keep using my “team” from the beginning, who are all just a diverse group of classes. Instead of planning out who to bring in each fight. I also fell into the trap of just buying the newest thing and upgrading it for each character instead of planning out who and why should get what. It has been pretty fun to just go at it mostly blindly tho hahaha. I am not willing to lose a character at the moment but when I do another play through, I'm gonna go a little more hardcore.
i run a bunch of hawkmen on auto battle so you dont have to worry about losing uniques. later on they can fall off cliffs really easily whereas flying dudes are immune
@@soandsononame8750 i got 3 hawkmen because i thought having a flying squad would be neat but they have been warming the bench hard. This is my first contact with tactics ogre...

I've been using a ninja skirmisher with a charm blowgun and the poison, stun and silence auto skills. Pretty much every time he does anything, he procs at least 1 status effect.
Im pretty sure Benumb and Bridle do not stack..

I've grown to use poison spell on any who can use it and weapons with the poison. Poison is phenomenal in this version
They really need to improve this menu because it's so tideous to switch back to the units menu. It would be ideal to directly compare the items to the ones you already have equipped directly in the shopping menu without going back and forth.
I doubt it was possible to completely replace it on a technical level, but it's also unnecessary. The typical approach is to have at least one of every item to adapt builds when out and about. It's Armored Core esque in that way.
Finally unlocked most of these. It was weird I didn't unlock the Elemental Temples until after PotD. So I'm steam rolling them on AI.
I've made a few earrings but I'm it completely sold on them. Need to see if chokers are a better choice for characters with wing/sidhe boots.
I don't have an option to upgrade the damascus sets even though I already finished the game.

I'm in chapter 4, and I haven't opened up that part of the map yet... I've read everything in my Warren Report, and no fortresses at all. Only Phorompa is available to me... What am I doing wrong?
It will open after the fight at Barnicia Castle, ALWAYS read the Warren Report and then go to the forts. They will no be red, but will trigger a fight.
Could be dependent on route I only did law currently on ch4

Have you tried this game on SteamDeck? I made a video of great steamdeck games and included it in the list. SPOILERS it runs well. Its become my go to way to play the game. Excellent video as always. Your my go to for this game XD
I would love to, but it's one of those things that I'll never be able to justify spending the money for. Ultimately most of the devices I use, whether handheld or otherwise, wound up costing me next to nothing. My wife's Switch was bought normally, but for mine, I ended up effectively getting it for parts and wheeling n dealing my way into having it functional. My Vita came from trading up PSP parts, my current PSP was $27 after someone assumed it didn't work due to not having a battery. They never checked, shockingly. Either, point being, most stuff I have needs to be nimble and durable enough to survive dad duties. I've contemplated the idea of a Deck for ages, even got curious when I'd heard the Aya Neo could run Steam OS, but ultimately all of this stuff is too big and expensive for me personally. Damn fine devices, though.

Maybe you can explain this why does the Ice Blade give 33 less attack than the Khora+1 despite having 1 more strength, 4 more vitality and 4 more attack? This doesn’t make any kind of sense whatsoever.

About those skill bonus's on Jewelry, is that added to the total even if the skill is maxed? For example, does a swordsman with 40 in Katana's effectively function as if he had a 60? That would be the difference in whether they are useless or fantastic.
yes, those do stack with weapon skills. So you will be effectively have 60 in that particular weapon skills if you have both the earing and skill set.

Someone also told me that weapon skill also boosts both attack power AND defense. Is that true?
@@MidnightBlackandVictoria not sure about def, but they do boost atk. By how much and on what skills, etc.. is still up to debate. Some says it's insignificant, others says it's good for finishers only, and yada yada.
@@hafizyb Thanks. Yeah I notice a huge difference in performance between those with maxed out skills, and those who have 10s-20s. It does seem to make a significant difference. As for defense, someone on steam told me that, but I wasnt sure and its tricky to test. I DO know that sometimes a character will just get hit (no counter) and it will say "Skill level up" but the weapon skill isnt what went up. Maybe a "hidden" armor skill?

Not this time. Phorampa is for materials, HG fights, and some extra unit types.

Hi Coffee, i am having issues with the final boss. I have a full leveled-up party and a bunch of items as I took advantage of the money-making bug. Still can't beat the final boss. I really want to do post-game content but I am stuck. Do you have any advice for me?

Looks like you got to it first! Yeah, he's pretty darn tough this time around. Last time all you needed was like 3 orbs and Denam with Field Alchemy and nothing else.

If it's not a bother, can you summarize what you will be looking for through ch1 and 2 in your nothing burger playthrough in terms of classes and recruitments? I kinda ruined my playthrough forgetting to recruit Azelstan. I know I should be able to get him after beating the game, but I ended up deleting everything and starting a nothing burger challenge myself. Because of your cold (hope you're well), I kinda went ahead, playing act 3, but I'm so curious to know what you would've done differently...
Current plan there (I plan to blitz through 1-3 pretty quick) is to end up with 1 TK as a spearhead, two knights for a wall, Warrior Denam for support (Who will have his weapon removed for chapter 1 due to reasons), a ninja, a cleric built vit, two archers, and probably two bowgun dragoons.

Is the Pirate's Graveyard a Farming/recruitment area? Or mostly for story? I thought I read somewhere that special magical gear dropped here. (That might also be components in crafting once in PotD?)

I just finished that story and don't get the treasure you only get the title no treasure and minus 5 in chaos frame.
So, to get Cudgel Enchiridion i need to beat the temples? My Mage are all MP Starving, so the +100MP would be very nice
Seems so, unless it has any other drops anywhere else. Fruit of the Adept helps until then. Also stuff like Salvation+Meditate on the Lich basically vomits MP for the party

Do you use the iron fan for anything? I kinda ignored it in favor of using the caldia as an offhand for some casters.
I...did. Every unit I gave a fan to died and had their fan stolen or destroyed. I'm going to call it cursed.

You can get Heretic Marks in a bunch of places. There's one from deploying her as a Priest in Chapter 4, some can drop from Templar Clerics, and Palace of the Dead has a few. It's an excellent Automatic Debuff Spammer class.
Does always going for weapons with on hit effects really make the others redundant?
No, they've got their uses. But on hit effects can be pretty handy when used right.
So weapons without on-hit effects are just useless in this game?
No, they do more damage, but if you have the choice to upgrade one, the on hit one would be the better choice.
it's basically:
you deal lower dmg but with an on-hit effect
OR
you deal more dmg but with no on-hit effect
both has it uses, with varying usefulness depending on the weapon type. Ex: on hit effect on cudgels is generally less useful compared to, say, poison on spear.

I have beaten the temple once, after that i clear all the 6 fortress again, then i start going down below until the boss dungeon, but after the boss die, it didn’t drop the next level spell, is it normal like that?
I'd like to offer some advice for your videos. More showing vs telling. Show us these creatures like the bosses, rather than talk about Ifrit or what creature drops what, or the map itself.
It also sounds like you don't use a script, and you might benefit from a more structured video set up rather than this seemingly flow of thought form. It'd make your videos more entertaining and informative.

Anyone else playing the switch version and getting very annoying crashes (at the worst times at that)?
Out of curiosity, which model do you have? I started seeing some too, but have an old as hell model that randomly crashes on all games eventually. Many others report never crashing.
I have the OLED one and it happens quite a bit. 6 crashes already and sometimes I forget to save after every battle. Recruited 4 golems and it crashed after that one and I was pissed
@@CoffeePotato I have the switch digital version, and it crashes ALOT. Even crashed on me just as I took down the last boss! Talk about frustrating.....Crashed just after recruiting Dievold, and a few other inconvenient times.
