Its rare that a staple character gets to have an official final goodbye skit. Even if it took 24 years lol. They did Opera-man justice.
If Sandler hosts again, Opera Man will be back.

"Opera Man, bye-bye," is his usual sign off every time he does the Opera Man skit.
This made my heart so happy. I love his expression at the very beginning that pretty much said "I'm a grown-ass man, let's do this shit."

That's why he is so awesome. He is a kid at heart. Granted a naughty little kid but still he is awesome. He doesn't do attacks he does skits meant to make you laugh and look at shit a lot less seriously. I miss his brand of fun. The Sandler, Spade, Farley, Schneider days are the BEST.

Sandler, Farley, Schneider, Spade, Rock... those were my high school days, absolutely the best times. Sorry you weren't around for it, it was arguably the best SNL era, sandwiched between the Carvey/Myers times and the Farrell days.
You missed out. Farley was the man back then. Some of my favorite all time SNL skits are from that time.

They’ve already started, with the surprise guest appearances. It’s cuz they run out of ideas, besides the same political stuff and this cast and writing really isn’t good. They have to bank on nostalgia to carry the show. I will admit tho, Sandler hosting this episode was great, especially the Farley tribute.

You mean have some of the older cast members host? That would depend on if they wanted to do it or not. And if you mean repeat some of the older shows, it is difficult to do that because they have to repeat some of this season's shows a bunch of times this summer.

Nah. That would be Murphy. Not just for his talent, but because he almost single-handedly saved the show from cancellation.
I think rolling stone put him in the top 20 when they came out with that controversial list back in 2015 ahead of the 40th anniversary show. That’s probably fair, although I wouldn’t place him in the top ten
