That scene where he apologizes to the girl is probably the most emotional scene in the trilogy.
Absolutely, the most emotional scene in the trilogy together with Bourne's goodbye to Marie as her body sinks in the river.
Absolutely. The two actors are amazing.
@@carlossaraiva8213 Agreed. Superb acting by the girl.
I think she’s a famous actor where she’s from.
The way the third movie ties into the second is really well done.
I've always loved that. The first 2/3 of the third movie is showing how Bourne went from Russia to NY and got to the point where he is talking to Pamela Landy on the phone.
@@sbunc92 it was really well done. Beware of spoiling it though.
You can love how James Bond has a new and (most of the time) a banger of a theme song per film. But Extreme Ways just slaps so hard everytime and that's all Jason Bourne needs 😎
😁
"It's easy, she's standing right next to you"...
Woof, chills.
Fun Fact: To give this movie its gritty, documentary-style appearance, director Paul Greengrass used mostly handheld cameras and a muted color palette. Paul Greengrass also made sure to avoid computer graphics at all costs and all of the stunts shown in the movie were achieved practically.
Also, the Bourne movies are by far the most realistic and gritty in their genre. He is amazing at what he does, but not made out to be super human, when he gets hurt you really feel it.
I also like that a huge chunk of the movie takes place in Berlin. Not a lot american/english movies take place in Germany. That´s why I also like that parts of the film "Hanna" (2011) were shot in Berlin.
Absolutely gritty and *realistic* . That's how you write a script for a spy movie. Casino Royale and its sequels are full of inconsistences and irrationalities (such as Bond having dinner in the restaurant where he was almost poisoned to death)
Also those are the movies to blame for all the shaky-cam short cut action in movies for years to come after.
@@user-pm3wk6lw6m is movie is not to blame for the bad execution of dhaky cam in other movies. Those movie did it wrong, this one did it right.
@@hughjorg4008 He wasn't poisoned at the restaurant, he was poisoned at the tables while his drink was in transport by one of Le Chiffre's patrons. Le Chiffre was rolling with only a small crew because he was broke and only working with Quantum, not part of it. That's how the warlords were able to get to him so easily. To think Le Chiffre could also get to him at the restaurant when his girl needed to be in the room to get the poison in Bond's drink is irrational. He doesn't have that much pull, which is why he's at the tables trying to win it back in the first place.
Love how you made the connection so quickly that Marie lost her life because he was last seen driving. It took me the extra moment to not think he simply 'missed' my first time watching.
"That's easy. She' standing right next to you" is one of my favorite moments in cinema. The reveal that he has them all in his sights and they have no clue where he is is amazing.
The moment Jason says "That's easy. She's standing right next to you", all the sphincters in that room clenched so hard and fast, the Jedis must've felt it.
Jason uses a combination of Filipino Kali, Israeli Krav Maga, Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do, as well as boxing.
Don't forget shaky cam no jutsu
The scene when he is with Nikki in the cafe symbolises him and Marie in the first movie, because when she says "you really don't remember anything" and looked really sad is because those too were together before he lost his memory that's why she protects him through the whole series
"Jason Bourne killed someone with a rolled up magazine... a ROLLED UP MAGAZINE... who does that?!" 😂😂😂
Loved this viewing with yooz guyz. Thanks for that.
John wick can shove his pencil
John Wick killed 3 guys with a pencil ✏️
@Ricardo Corea mr Smith from shoot em up used a carrot
Well, the android Nash tried to shove a rolled up magazine down Ripley's throat in Alien in an attempt to off her....
I love that you’re doing this trilogy! Matt Damon was just perfect in this role. Can’t wait for the third! You MUST watch the third!
The third movie is a good as the first and the second movie. It is an incredible trilogy!! All the credit goes to the scriptwriters.
there actually making another bourne movie believe it or not...
@Darkstar I agree!! But I saw in an article that Matt might be doing another borne movie though 🤔..
3:58 "Is that Karl Urban?"
"I think it is. Why does he look so young here?"
Erm… maybe because this movie is about 20 years old… 🤔
Actually, Matt Damon really hurt his leg doing that jump from the bridge (he insist to make it instead od using stuntman) and refuse to stop filming, so next scenes when you see him limping, he really struggles up with pain.
By the time john wick pulls up on jason bourne, bourne would call his phone and tell him "nice suit" 😎
They would drink a beer together.
@@scofield3467 Agree aha both just wanted to be left alone
What if they teamed up?
@@williamsummerson1204 crossover? 😮🍿 Take my fucking money
@@Kevin.Costner. fax.😃
The Bourne Supremacy is my favorite In the franchise hands down. The action is amazing, the chase scenes are dope, the music is really good and Bourne is at his most badass.
The Bourne Ultimatum is my favourite! So many great moments in that one.
Yeah Supremacy is definitely my favorite I really love the first one too the 3rd isn’t as good but still very intense
3 is better
Same, there's no movie I've watched more than Bourne Supremacy.
The third movie, Ultimatum, is the best of the entire series. Should've been nominated for best picture that year. Many were pushing for it.
When this came out, Franka, the actress playing Marie, went on the promotional tour and did heaps of interviews. When she was shot, you were so convinced she had to live based on the marketing, it hit harder. It was a brilliant misdirect
That's how I felt about Tom Hiddleston promoting Infinity War
You guys GOT to finish it out and watch Bourne Ultimatum. Its the BEST....and blends scenes in with this one flawlessly. Also Pamela Landy is actually on Bourne's side the whole time. She wants to help him, and she is smarter than the people around her. She knew that something wasn't up, why would Bourne come out of hiding and expose himself like that? She knew it didn't add up. Bourne is trying to retrace his steps, because he is trying to figure out the truth, which is revealed in the last movie. I like how Bourne is like "Get some rest, you look tired." He is saying, your not going to find me, unless I want to be found.
That ending is an all-timer.
Glad to see the 2nd installment followup, cant wait for the 3rd.
And THEN the 4th. Bourne ultimatum 😉 after the 3rd Bourne legacy....
And the return of damon in the 5th.
Wait till you see the Bourne Ultimatum! That literally was off the charts!
Gotta be honest, I liked all these movies better than John Wick
I despise John Wick for one reason: he was a hitman for the Russian mafia. We are talking about Russian pimps who force underage girls into prostitution, in addition to all the illegal drug business. 👎
Jason Bourne is back, with a vengeance.
Your reaction to “she’s standing right next to you” ……. Class😂
They had a good setup planned for multiple movies of course because it was based on a book series by a really talented author, Robert Ludlum
In the *ROBERT LUDLUM's novels* , Jason Bourne doesn't have amnesia. The amnesia problem was introduced in the 1988 TV miniseries THE BOURNE IDENTITY which is fully available on CZcams. Enjoy!! czcams.com/video/dh0eS8GsnTQ/video.html
The movies barely follows the dtories in the book snd that's just the first film. The sequels are completely divorced from the book series.
4:24 -
Curtis, "Are those explosives?"
Chris, "Maybe, actually."
Curtis, "That's 100% explosives, dude. What do you mean, 'maybe'?"
7:21 -
Curtis, "Uh, that's a rifle in there, maybe! That's a PRETTY long bag."
Me, "That's 100% a rifle, dude. What do you mean, 'maybe'?"
So close to accidental poetry. XD
The Bourne Supremacy is excellent. There's also the 4th in the series, Jason Bourne but this seemed to me to be one they could have just not made. An underated one to watch is the Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner. It runs in parallel to the Jason Bourne story and you see titbits such as news items referring to Jason Bourne incidents in the trilogy that are happening at the same time. It's not as popular as the rest of the franchise but I found it very enjoyable.
The third one is my favorite. Can’t wait until you guys watch it
I love how Jason just let them know he was watching them. Like he was telling em “I could’ve killed you all right now. But I want answers first so y’all get a pass for now.”
I am so glad you did to Bourne supremacy when you did the Bourne identity. I love the sequel.
Michelle Monahan was the chick that said Langley too. Lot of stars in these boutne movies. Clive Owen was one of the assassins in the first bourne movie and the guy bourne fights with the magazine is the villain from the equalizer.
You should watch Bourne Ultimatum now! 😀 Because if you think Supremacy is better, wait till you see Ultimatum. One of the best action movies of all time! 😉
That exactly what I said when I saw The Bourne Ultimatum. With the third movie, they went from A+ and A++
The best Bourne movie in my opinion, the way it shows how Bourne works, all the small details with superb editing.
Agreed, my fav too!
I think you'll be surprised how well the 3rd movie goes with the 2nd. The 3rd Bourne movie is just as good.
As far as Bond, you are really missing out. Skyfall, which would be the next one for you, is an absolute masterpiece. Casino Royale and Skyfall are 1 and 1a for me and many others in terms of Daniel Craig's 007 movies.
I agree Skyfall is a Masterpiece and my favorite Bond movie to date!
Such a great series...the 3rd is maybe the best actually and they are very re watchable as you appreciate more of Bournes situational awareness. really modern classics
You’ll love the Bourne Ultimatum. The action in that one tops them all. Bourne Legacy is a optional side story, I liked it but I know others don’t. The guy who made Andor made that one. As far as Jason Bourne (2016) goes, I was pleased.
Also. Continue with Bond, Skyfall is one of the best Bond films of all time. Spectre is…ehh. No Time to Die is a perfect ending though to that story.
I could watch your guys' intros for hours! Best reactor intro on CZcams, by far! Love you guys!!!!!
The way his voice cracks during his confession at the end tells you he was referring to his loss of Marie 🥺
Good thing you noticed, Mark. I noticed too when he said, "when someone you love is taken away from, you want to know why" Bourne is talking about Marie.
@@hughjorg4008 When Bourne says, "I'd want to know why" is also a reference to Bourne searching for answers due to amnesia.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia Yes, I agree with you. "I'd want to know why" means "what did I do in the past that led to Marie getting killed by my former employer and associates."
Agreed, a rare squeal that exceeds the original. Damon owns this role!
I saw Matt Damon in London one week before the U.S. premiere of The Bourne Identity, and he gave me his autograph. I wouldn't have asked for it after having seen The Bourne Identity out of fears he is actually Jason Bourne. 😄 He definitely owns the role.
To this day, those 3 black Mercs at the end give me nightmares. I haven't seen a more intimidating looking car in movie history. Absolutely menacing!
The three black Mercedes are two C320 (the short cars for the bodyguards) and one S-class (the long one for the oligarch). I have one black C320 that is exactly the same model as the ones in this movie. 😄
This is such a dark, gritty trilogy. Jason bourne is such a madlad though,
"What if I can't find her?"
"It's easy - shes standing right next you"
Oh man, the best part of your reactions without a doubt is the credits with the donkey kong soundtrack!
I grew up in the 90's, was lucky enough to play donkey kong 1 and 2 and now every once in a while i listen to the whole soundtrack, its just a masterpiece. Like its so weird that you dont even aprecciate it so much when youre a kid, but now im 34 years old and I can say its hands down one of the best scores for a videogame ever. Like, the composer is a freakin genious.
It never gets old, and its so complex and you can tell that its not just basic cheap tunes and melodies. There's pure and raw talent and high level of musicianship (if thats a word).
Takes me back to another time, but at the same time its kind of timeless, like, it doesnt feel old when you listen to it. Its really a great thing.
If you think he was sly in this movie, wait until you see what he does in the next one. Also, Mythbusters did an episode where they tried the magazine in the toaster trick and the magazine never did catch fire.
You guys might also enjoy the Riddick series, starring Vin Diesel.
The reason it seems so well planned is that it is based on 3 novels by Robert Ludlum. They were written 1980, 86 and 90. He was a well known writer of thrillers from the 70's, 80's, 90's and early 2000's. A lot of his books were made into movies. These are probably the most well known.
As I understand it though the plot is pretty unrecognisable from the books, no?
@@MatthaisUK I haven't read them, but I believed from what I heard that they did follow the books. So now I have to go do some research, and find out for sure.
Sadly, Robert Ludlum died 10 months before the premiere of The Bourne Identity. I wish he could have seen Matt Damon play Jason Bourne.
The 3rd one is very good. The Bourne Legacy is a nice expansion of the universe with Jeremy Renner, and the final movie is good.
I don't care what anyone says. Not all sequels are worse than the first. That idea in itself could be a movie trope. Glad you guys gave it a chance. Great review. I also enjoyed the third film. All of them are awesome!
This was the first film I saw Karl Urban in after Lord of the Rings, where he was one of my favorite characters from the book. Seeing him as a baddie here was a big surprise! II just wish he had more screen time. I do love having Brian Cox as the ultimate baddie instead.
Karl Urban kills it in every role. He is a real chameleon.
Always a pleasure to watch his work.
Karl also played a baddie in Chronicles of Riddick as Lord Vaako! 🤘
@@pabloragusa Came here to say that. Didn’t know him before Chronicles of Riddick. Great bad guy in that.
It took me years to realize he was also the doctor in the new Star Trek movies! Great actor!
@@natedoggg2002 Yeah, great role for him!
I love your reactions. "Don't lose to a magazine!". I laughed! 😀
“Jason Bourne will make you wish you were not born”

You guys are frickin geniuses I mean why wasn’t this the ad line for this film
dude, Chris... you were on fire for this one! From pre-show to after action, you had me laughing my ass off! too funny homie, lookin forward to the rest of the series with y'all!
Finally you guys are getting back to Bourne!!!
They keep getting better. I can't wait to see you guys react to the next one. These movies were based on a book series, so that's probably one reason why they're so good.
I am reading the ROBERT LUDLUM's books ASAP. However, in the books, Jason Bourne doesn't have amnesia. The amnesia problem was introduced in the 1988 TV miniseries THE BOURNE IDENTITY.
We've seen a lot of good books and screenplays fucked up with either an incompetent director or studio interference.
“Get some rest, pam…… you look tired” best line in the whole movie.
They are the "mic drop" lines. It was one thing the fourth film didn't have.
*edit I also like how in the third film, the assassin aiming his gun at an unarmed Bourne, Bourne tells the assassin, "Look at us. Look at what they make you give." The line comes full circle from the first film of where the assassin called "The Professor" told Bourne just before he died.
Borne Ultimatum (3rd film), Borne Identity (3.5 film starring Jeremy Renner and Rachael Weisz), and Jason Borne (film 4) are all fluidly connected to each other. Meaning the time line is important. The 3.5 is basically connects within the two films. So technically, you may consider not skipping the 3.5. Some might say it doesn’t matter, maybe. But if you ever do decide to go back and watch it, you may miss the fact that 3.5 takes place right after the beginning of the third film. You’ll understand it if you watch it.
For your consideration.
First time they introduced that really chaotic aesthetic with the camerawork too.
Seeing this in the theatres was rough because I was seething at the cameraman. “Hold. The camera. Still.”
You guys lucked out: it’s not really noticeable on the small screen and they do reign it in over the next few movies but… hoo boy. I was so angry at the cameraman first time through.
Still a good movie.
If you guys liked this better than the 1st you'll be pleased to know the 3rd is better than the 2nd! (In my opinion!)
Please do Lord of the Rings. Yes, they are long-do the extended versions-but all three were filmed at the same time, the three are one long story, and it is stellar! Take your time with them, do them in parts, and savor the experience. They are amazing.
Good reaction. Yes, the third Bourne is worth a look!
Yo, so glad you didnt wait long to watch second one. I like the whole trilogy (4 and 5 are decent, but nothing more), and I think each new entry was better than previous, although the first had slightly different vibe because it was made by another director.
I love how Curtis is just watching himself goof off in the camcorder screen for the whole intro to assess his level of goofy. 😂
3:25 - I love how he got "dangly" from "stand by please".
These movies are legendary. Get yourselves ready, the third one is the best in the trilogy. You guys are going to love it all the way around. Ties everything together and the action sequences are epic. Some of the best in action history imo. Cheers!
Jeremy Renner stars in the off shoot of Bourne. People sleep on it. I think it was good, fun and works within the universe.
Also stars Oscar Isacc and Rachel Weisz.
and Edward Norton.
Can't wait for you to get to the third one, it picks up literally right from where this movie ended.
Look up pictures of Karl Urban from when he was on Xena Warrior Princess. He played 2 diff characters, Julius Caesar and Cupid (yes THAT Cupid.) Also, have you guys not watched the 2009 Star Trek movie? He's clean - shaven in that too. Bit if an Urban Stan, me. ALSO WATCH DREAD 3D (you don't need 3d glasses. It's just an awesome and extremely violent movie with KU in it.)
3:29 CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
Watched this trilogy a couple of times when I was younger together with my parents. My mom always thought the music was super stressful 😆 But man does this trilogy have a fantastic soundtrack!
It makes me so happy to see you guys enjoying this franchise so much! Thanks for the show 🙏 cant wait to see the 3rd!
All the Bourne movies are great! Loved your reactions and DANCING!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Greetings! Of all the reviewers twin brothers, you are the best)
In the scene where Bourne runs away from the police and runs into the train, he looks at his watch and realizes that there is still time before departure. And he makes this detour with the bridge and the boat to...
Of the Jason Bourne trilogy, this one is my favorite, hands down... no question.
Matt Damon the best in the Jason Bourne movies, hope we see Bourne Ultimatum next.
What’s not safe is setting upon a car in the middle of nowhere with a sleeping Jason Bourne inside.
The third one is just as good if not better than this one. Looking forward to your reaction to it. Great reactions to this one 👍
The Bourne quintollogy is just outstanding. Start with The Long Kiss Goodnight, then The Bourne Identity, next The Bourne Supremacy, follow up with The Bourne Ultimatum, and finish off by rewatching The Long Kiss Goodnight again. Perfect. (side note, there are two other movies with Bourne in their names but they don't count, just ignore them.)
You could also try reading the original Bourne novels. The plots are quite different, they start with the same premise and share some character names but otherwise are very different in tone and tale (less reliant on fridgeing female characters for example).
I dint understand the love for The Last Kiss My Ass Goodbye. Its such a typical piece of mediocrity movie from renny halin!!
Sequels are often better than the first movie, just people tend to fixate on the stinkers. Even really iconic movie series the sequel is often better - first movie lays the groundwork, second movie you don't need so much exposition and can just hit the ground running and expand the lore. Of this series it's actually the third I remember most.
One thing is more terrifying than a man with nothing to lose. A trained assassin 30 million invisible weapon with nothing to lose.
You will like Bourne ultimatum too then after that is Jason Bourne this is one of the best series of movies out there every one is just as good as the first
I find myself scanning to the end, just to see you guys jam out. 🤣
My all time favorite franchise!
Kevin, have you read the three books by Robert Ludlum?
@@hughjorg4008 I have not, but now that I’m retired, I hope to get some reading time.
Why does that ending song go so hard i luv it lol.
Love it! Watch “A Time to Kill” next with Samuel L. Jackson
The moscow car chase in this movie is legendary, probably the best i ever seen in a movie. An unlike in the first movie, theh aparently got the geography right. Aparently you can drive in moscow from where the chase begings to where it ends like as depicted in the film.
Yeah, Bourne Supremacy is the rare case of the sequel that's better than the original. And then Bourne Ultimatum came and it's the best of those three.
I would highly recommenced you go straight into the final movie its wild as hell ...brilliant stuff.
The final movie being the third in the series, i.e. THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007), because the 4th and 5th films are not very good.
Team America still the best performance from Matt Damon!
Must watch the 3rd one!!
The second is my personal favourite of the trilogy 😊 I love the way you guys rock out to the music. The soundtrack is so great 🎉
That 'Chubby rain' movie changed his life forever...
Brian Cox as Ward Abbott was a good casting choice, but what you may not know is he played Hannibal Lecter before Anthony Hopkins ever did.
Like you, I walked away from the 1st one confused, but watched the 2nd not knowing it was a sequel. After seeing #2 it was like... Holy crap, now the 1st one makes sense. (& you must watch #3)
Fortunately, the magazine he lost to was guns and ammo😂😂
"He's losing to a magazine!!! So funny love you guys!!!
One of my top 10 franchises 👍
Please top it all off with The Bourne Ultimatum, 3rd of the trilogy story line. Thanks guys. I'll join your Patreon after that. 👍
I love these movies my favorite parts were when he tells Langley the girl was next to her and at the end he told Langley she looks tiered.
Ultimatum your going to Love. My favorite one out of the trilogy lots of action..twists..can't keep yourr eyes off it.
I don't think it's better in terms of action/camera work but I think this one is still super fun & worth watching (they all worth watching imo)
For another great shit/shoes quote, see Angels In The Outfield: "Now don't go makin' more cow pies to step in, George. You got enough manure on your boots now."
Honestly, I think the 3rd one is the best!
