It makes sense that The Fallen has joint tolerance issues, he’s literally one of the oldest Transformers ever
I'd like to see TJ do a full review of Titanium Cheetor... unless he already has and I missed/forgot about it.
Regarding G2 Titanium Megatron - you're welcome! Thank you for adopting him and giving him a loving home so that the Internet can constantly laugh at him.
I might catch flack, but Titanium has a special place in my heart. The mini Bumblebee and Primal were some of my firsts transformers ever, and I remember being jealous of my friend’s titanium Starscream.
I like the Titanium line too. I've always been a fan of die-cast.
I dunno, TJ, there *is* one upside to Titanium Megatron...
...he and his giant flat chest makes excellent target practice for toy weapons. :p
If I had one, he'd be a training dummy the Autobots made out of old crates.
I'd love to see a list like this for Alternators. I've been on a kick with those lately. The Skids mold holds up surprisingly well imo.
I've got a lot of nostalgia for Titanium. It was the original oddball sideline when I was first transitioning from a kid who played with toys to a soon-to-be lifelong robot dork. I remember seeing that wave 1 Megatron and, believe it or not, thinking is was one of the coolest looking figures I'd seen. Don't ask me why, because even I don't know. I had weird tastes even back then I suppose.
There are a whole lot more Alternators/Binaltech figures, and I don't think TJ can cover all of them in a tier video.
The Fallen's flames are actually molded in and painted. Also I love this design so much that without even knowing anything about the character I tracked him bought this figure, and I turned his box into a display stand I still have this figure sitting on my X-Box. I honestly would put him in Holy Grail. It annoys me that his later incarnations just sort of forgot he's suppose to be a living furnace. It makes him unique among Transformers and his later designs just got more and more generic. His Covenant of Primus design is just a RotF Megatron repaint. I think Power of the Primes, the cartoon animation model, got the closest to recreating his look but they didn't have him constantly on fire. And this is the one character Bay should of got right but he still managed to screw it up.
Anyway... I don't think we'll ever get a better version of War Within the Fallen so that's a Holy Grail for me.
I also agree about Optimal Optimus. If they had molded him with Megatron's face I would of bought that figure. I'm still waiting to this day for an official Optimal Megatron every time they make an Optimal Optimus and don't retool him into Megatron... WHY? Optimal Optimus doesn't even need a new figure the original still holds up pretty well but Megatron needs a toy and Hasbro hasn't even attempted it.
R.I.P soundblaster
Good Riddance
wait if it was never made wouldn’t that make it an abortion?
I got his legs
War Within deserves a revisit alongside the High Moon WFC/FOC series in the Generations line.
Maybe in Legacy?
We're getting a lot of the same design philosophy with the new Bumblebee movie Studio Series toys.
@@221b Yeah but they aren’t exactly like either of these two pre-Earth cast designs, merely inspired by them. If we got a WW Ironhide, he’d have a windshield covering his head or a WW Optimus Prime that gives him the comic accurate design.
I gotta say, Titanium RiD Prime was good enough that he got me interested in the full release of RiD Prime, and I'm SO glad I bit, cause the RiD Prime is incredible, but it's also still so impressive just how good the Titanium figure is. Like.... most of the time when I've bought some form of downscaled figure that got me interested in the big one, the big one would logically make me think a little less of the small one, simply because the main version is the original and IS better, but this was the only time where the downscaled figure still held its position for me.
It’ll be nice to have a Generations WW Fallen. Getting sick of him going around as Megatronus as they seem to like to keep pushing him as and the flame-furnace design is way cooler of a design for him than his current design.
I never even knew a lot of these figures existed until now. The only ones I knew before were Megatron, Soundwave, Rodimus, Menasor, Optimal Optimus, and RID Prime
Great vid TJ! Seeing Titanium Optimal reminds of that awesome review you made so long ago. That vid was hilarious.
My mom gave me titanium RID Prime as a child and I LOVED that toy, I had every Optimus Prime from the Unicron trilogy and at first I thought that RID was part of that trilogy so I wanted that Optimus but since a few years have passed I couldn't get it. Then Titanium came along and my mom bought it and gave me the toy as a Christmas present and I can express how much I loved that Prime. I pretty much have all my transformers in storage except for two. Year of the Horse Optimus Prime (that mold is amazing and the uniqueness of the color scheme is the reason why I love it) and Titanum RID Optimus Prime. I wasn't surprised when you put it on top of everything else.
Ironically the Plastic Addict started with Titanium
The Titanium Series Starscream has a special place in my heart. I had shut Transformers out of my life for about ten years, then came back to it last year. That toy became the first of my new collection since getting back into the franchise. The vehicle mode on that toy is fantastic, so freaking cool.
Very fun video. Made me go back and rewatch your older vids. Although watching your review for energon grimlock and swoop made me bust my gut laughing as well. Although I kinda have to ask a pointless question: what happened to Timothy and Jerry?
My boy RID Optimus/Fire Convoy representing!
This should count as a Plastic Addict episode
I'd be all for getting more tier lists like this
Awesome video tj!
You actually forgot one...War within Optimus had a repaint in 2007 movie Optimus' colors
Jetfire was actually my favorite mold, not sure why, but I agree, it could have been a LOT better. I still have my Jetfire on display.
Hey, Titanium Megatron is a good toy. As a doorstop.... wait, it even failed at that
I love this idea! I think you could also do Crossovers (both Marvel and Star Wars), Alternators/Binaltech/Asterisk/Kiss Players, Alternity, the different Label series, Classics, Universe 2.0 and, if you're feeling like doing a longer video, even Masterpiece
The 3 inches did have... well technically it was the Ark, honestly it was closer to the 86 movie shuttles that was cool.
Maybe this means the next Plastic Addict video will be TJ reviewing TJ reviewing TJ reviewing Menasor
Good list. (Actually dusting and tansforming my old TT Skywarp as I'm watching this.) As the years go by, the line seems to exude a more premium feel in the light of today's lower-quality goods in general.
PS. A unique item, the Ark is a very good entry at the 3" scale.
beast machine was also quite short. that could make a good tier list!
How about a tier list of your favorite to least favorite Plastic Addict? (Though i can probably guess that "Review More" would be at the top)
if i recalled, ROTF had 3inch Titanium Figures. they were 2 packs. I remember there was a pack for Grindor and Ratchet. Cliffjumper??? and DeadEnd. Deadend was a repaint of Movie1 Jazz
When you do come to make the Beast Wars reviews it'd be good to comment on the production order, noted in the Wikipedia article on the series. Season 1 got shuffled around quite a bit and it explains why Inferno disappeared for 2 episodes shortly after his introduction.
I do like Titanium Scourge and Rodimus a fair bit. Especially how Rodimus incorporates his trailer from his legs. I’d take a smaller vehicle mode to get that kind of integration again.
Back when it came out, I overlooked Soundwave’s flaws just to be able to have a G1-ish Soundwave, but he’s not good in retrospect.
Titanium was a line mostly of “well, you tried.”
When I was a kid, I really wanted certain Titanium toys, especially the Ultra Magnus, but every time I would ask my parents for one, they'd tell me "I don't think that's an actual Transformer, I think they're just metal statues." Looking back, it's probably for the best that I missed out, since there are so many better alternatives now, but it was kind of upsetting back in the day. I guess this goes to show the power of poor marketing.
Dude if beast machines cheetour is the holy Grail that line I am thoroughly frightened away now
Titanium Megatron’s 1 redeeming quality is that, like any good Megs, he’s really easy to love to hate.
TJ could definitely do a similar list with the alternators toy line
Loooool all the 3 inch titaniums got put in the flea market. That is hilarious! I love that line despite the tackiness and niche designs. I know they don't transform or even match at scale but I also collect 1:64 diecast cars and it's been super fun to pair up the robot to the vehicle, I.e. Sideswipe with Lamborghini Countach and Jazz with Porsche 935. Their size works great for smaller diorama scenes and don't take up too much shelf space. I prefer the diecast Takara Tomy Metacolle line as they're better quality, but these mini titaniums are fun and cheap.
I had to rewatch your review for titanium gi Joe megs. I just about died laughing
Great video as usual. I'm surprised you scored Scourge so low. I really liked the toy and for the time, it was a better version than the G1.
Of course his facial Look is creepy.
And Ultra Magnus should be in the Holy Grail because of how good he is, and how difficult he was to get!
Literally a (almost) Holy Grail!
Would be interesting to see a Transformers Armada/Transformers Energon figures tier list
I had Optimus, Megatron, and Thundercracker. And I would actually consider looking for the main three seekers
I loved my Optimus Optimus, the only real issue I had with it were how it had those pegs coming out of the hands.
I have such a soft spot for this line. Back then it was nice to get such cheap versions of Magnus, Rodimus and Soundwave in a g1 style for cheap for obvious reasons. Loved those guys.
Suggestion for a tier list vid if that's fine: Transformers 2007 cast.
I… I like that Soundwave…
I have titanium Skywarp and Jetfire, and I quite like them both, though I agree the Jetfire mold could have been tweaked a bit better.
I really want to get my hands on the Fallen and Grimlock.
I keep seeing some of these for sale from time to time, but sadly neither Cheetor nor RiD Prime, the ones I actually do want.
I always wanted the ultramagnus as a kid
Dunno, kind of like Titanium Megatron’s proportions. Nice, clean G2-esc era aesthetic. Falls apart like 90’s GPS, too.
How about a tier list of theme songs?
Best is an Optimus, worst is a Megatron. Oddly fitting
i only have 3 Prime, thunder cracker and Diaper wave
Oh boy.
I still have Ultra Magnus and Rodimus and still like them a lot
It think I know where the first titanium megaton is going
Titanium Cheetor is a real life case of double negatives making a positive lol
Finally someone who agrees with me that titanium optimal optimus should have been beast machines Megatron
Do Armada next
A Lost Art: the toyline
How about you do a Star Wars Crossover figure tier list?
I will say I preferred the Optimus to the War Within Megatron. Only 2 titaniums I had, and while neither were good, at least Optimus transformed.
Titanium megatron makes a great paperweight
Id love this but for armada or energon
The only good thing about Titanium Megatron can provide is an excellent Plastic Addict Episode one full of laughs and that is about it. The worst toy bringing a grand joke is nice.
You think the first titanium megatron being the Worst transformer of all time, he would end up put a tier even _lower_ than flea market. Like "shelf warmer" or "flea market clearance"
I think Soundwave is better than the 3 inch figures just because that Laserbeak is pretty cool
you better agree with my bottom ....tj 2021
To think the Titanium Series doesn't even contain any titanium is a misleading marketing
Every Alternators/Binaltech ranked.
TJ. I do hate it when the G1 Seekers don’t match one another and it’s worse when its’ the duos that don’t match like ER Snapdragon having a different shade of white and lacks the battle damage of Siege Apeface.
I think if I made a Transformers series, the Optimus Prime would resemble the TItanium RID Optimus, but with a redesigned chest and more blue.
3:56 that’s not Dirge?
The only Titanium "figures" I ever owned were some of the Star Wars ones that were just nice little die-cast models of ships. Always thought those were kind of neat for what they were. The Transformers ones always just looked dumb to me.
Constructive Comment: The pics are all super-tiny and low res. If you showed off bigger pics that showed-off both modes, it would've taken everything to the next level.
Also, if that's too much of a technical hurdle, at least describe which versions of each character and the alt modes.
Keep up the great work!
I’ll play the devils advocate, the original titanium Megatron is not as bad as armada sideswipe. At least Megatron looks like a Transformer, sideswipe looks like a bad go-bot! There I said it TJ, come at me bro!
What's wrong with Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus?
POTP Primal is a much better toy than people give it credit for.
That’s Universe Hot Spot, not G1 Hot Spot.
Hey TJ your audio is not very balanced evenly. Its a bit louder on the left side that the right
I was hoping you'd cover these since you started doing these tier lists. Not finished with the video, but pretty excited to hear your thoughts on the line as a whole.
Titanium Megatron is indeed the worst Transformer ever made. It’s horrible all around. Even Hasbro’s quality control issues nowadays is never going to stop Titanium Megatron from becoming the worst Transformers toy and worst action figure ever made. Also, Titanium Cheetor would be a great display piece for my computer lab.
if you could show an image of each transformer would make a huge positive difference. probably a lot of editing though?
The one we're talking about is always in the upper left of the grid, but for larger examples, sometimes it's hard getting clear images of the toys for the small thumbnails let alone to show on screen, especially with multiple modes.
It ain't a surprise seeing GI Joe Megs on the bottom of the list as he is one of the worst TF figures ever. Titanium gave us some hits and misses. The Fallen figure is really cool looking.
5:10 Actually, me? When it comes to the Seekers I REALLY want them to do at least different heads for variety. Anyway, I really think this might be the worst toyline in the franchise.
I'd strongly disagree with your assertion that Titanium Cheetor is the best Beast Machines-related toy ever, since that line had Deluxe Jetstorm in it and that mould is one of the GOATs for the entire Transformers franchise. I also think Titanium Rodimus is a lot better than you give him credit for, even now. Jetstorm is frustrating since his design *looks* great and he's nicely in-scale with Legends/Core-class figures, but he's an absolute pain to transform.
I'm kinda surprised by the placement of the 3-inch models considering how addicted you were to Robot Heroes which were basically the same thing but chibi-fied
