Amazing how a little piece of plastic can ruin your day. Lucky Roy's Garage is around!!!
Took my wifes old Honda out and the brake light was staying on...found the broken part and then came online and found this video.
Thank you so much! The repair shop was closed, but the auto parts store was still open, and this way the battery didn't run down overnight! My highschool daughter needed the car for exams! Also saved some $ for college!
I am also a 72 yr old woman and your video helped me fix this issue today. I only needed someone to hold a flashlight under the dash so as to have enough light even in the daytime. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much saved me a trip to the shop and a lot of money !
Thanks Bob, I'm a 72 year old lady and I fixed my car like a champ with your help. You explained it perfectly.
Glad I could help and thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Best video on this so far
Easy peasy nice job Roy
You find an honest mechanic and hold on to him for dear life. I cannot even imagine going to a unscrupulous one. Getting charged for this or that to rack up the repair job.
THANK YOU BROTHER....JUST FIXED MINE.....GOD BLESS YOU AND THE FAMILY.....
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thank you so much! I had this exact same problem! I saw a piece I never saw before on the floor of my front seat and this video helped me fix the issue on my own!
I just had the same issue with my 2002 CRV. I had double trouble as the brake lights were on for a extended period of time so that the left and right side bulbs burned out and the high mounted center light stayed on. Found a piece of the old stopper pad on the floorboard as you did. Once I watched this video, the new stopper pad went right into place and all seems right with the world now 🙂
I just had this happen. At first I thought is was the reflection from the sun until the sun starting going down and lights were still shining. I had never seen this before. You learn something new every day! Thank you Roy's Garage! I will be subscribing from now on.
Glad I could help and thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I had the exact same problem following your video, as "Babs" from 8 months ago. The first panel will not come down after removing one screw. I took off the one screw , and basically yanked, until the other corner cracked. That's because there are two screws, one on each lower corner. Other than that, this really is a great video for fairly easy fix for a common problem. Thanks , Roy's garage guy!
Ps: maybe edit?
Right on! I was tryin fo look for a similar video video, unreal this was the perfect video with the same problem I was having, plus from Hawaii. Thanks braddah Roy!
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Nice! This video show how to remove the panels to allow access to the brake switch. This was the hardest part because I did not want to destroy the tabs and panels.
Thanks a lot , Roy´s Garage, your video saved me a trip to the dealer, your instructions were simple and straight to the point. God bless you always.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Your video saved me a lot of time trying to figure out the problem. Problem solved. Thank you!
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
It’s took me 3 hrs to fixed my Honda Accord. Thank you Roy’s garage for showing me how to open all the plastic things 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😂
I just followed this on my 2005 Honda Accord. 20 minutes and I saved an expensive trip to a mechanic. Exactly what I needed. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. Saved me money, time, and a good amount of frustration.
This is exactly what I needed to do on my 2008 Honda Pilot.
The best quality video of this brake light switch on you tube. Panel opening and the actual stopper installation.
Hey, Roy!
Thank you so much for this video. I replaced my bad brake light switch maybe eight months ago on a 2014 Elantra, and gosh, it was a challenge for a novice!
Tonight, my brake lights started staying on, even with the car off, just like the one you repaired in the video. I did find a hard plastic disc about the size of a dime with a divot in the middle that clearly used to be the pointy part of the stopper.
Unfortunately, there are not very many creators who show this side of another problem it could be, so YOU are a lifesaver!
Thank you again!
thank you very much! fixed by 2005 accord - removing the front panel was the biggest challenge! .... but finally it worked. so happy - though orielly charged me $10 for the part which was a bit excees amazon had it for $4 but couldn't wait ...
Thank you so much! This was the best video on how to fix this problem!
Thank you for mentioning the turn your ignition on part, because no other video does that that I came across
Most helpful. Thank you. The stopper on my 07 Honda Ridgeline just did the same thing.
This helped me on my ‘07 Accord! Thank you 🙏 Saved me $216 !!!
Thank you, Roy, & Aloha from The Republic of Texas.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thank you for the time and money you saved me with this video.
Thanks I appreciate that quick and simple fix!
Thank you so much for the thorough step by step demonstration! It's especially helpful when you start from removing the panels since that's the part I'm stuck on lol
Thanks for this short video. I replaced a brake booster in my mother in law's van and noticed what looked like a blue washer on the floorboard after the install. No clue what it was from. After bleeding the brakes I saw the brake lights wouldn't turn off. The stopper was the problem. $6 bucks later no problem.
You just saved my marriage, man! Hubby (who is a diesel engine guru) was frustrated and cussing, and had given up trying to insert the new brake sensor stopper. As his loyal wifey, I secretly googled the issue, and found your instructive video. Turns out it wouldn't fit because he was trying to put in in backwards. Thank you so much!
Mahalo Roy! I installed the little white button, couldn't tell if plastic broken pieces( too many Mac nut pieces), I FIXED IT! You make it so easy!😊🤙
That part number came in handy!! Thanks.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
That’s exactly what I found on my floor board thanks man I feel way better
Thank you for showing this video, you saved me a trip to the mechanic. I got mine from Auto Zone and it comes in black and white, in case the white plastic did not fit in well go ahead and use the black one, it fits perfectly. Your direction was straight forward, thank you very much once again.
Thanks for letting me know how to fix my brakes light.
Thank you for the help!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your help Roy your a legend and I'm grateful thank you
Excellent video! My 2005 Honda Accord has the same double panel that other videos didn't show.
Plus, the plastic tab was difficult to insert until I tried your approach of letting the brake assembly apply the pressure and the seating went smoothly.
Thanks for the super detailed video...Aloha!!!
Thank you! Very helpful, especially the tip about using the break switch to push the stopper into place.
You are awesome! Thank you! We just found a piece on my daughter's car floor. Going to get the piece now. Hope I can fix it!!!
I know you can! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I was able to fix this issue quickly beacuse of your video! Thank you for the great content!
Thanks Roy. Have a good one 👍
Thank you for the video! Just saved me a trip to mechanic because I was able to fix it myself.

Terimakasih sangat detail penjelasannya, good job
Thank you for making this video
Just what i needed, thank you. subscribing to your channel right now!
My civic did same thing. I was pretty sure it was possessed. Thank you for showing how easy it was to fix!
That is a common problem with Hondas.
Great presentation and explanation!!!
Its hilarious that this weak piece of plastic is the only thing keeping your battery from draining. Mine breaks over and over from excessive heat I guess. Appreciate the video for quick fix!
Thank you for proving the OEM part number!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! YOU rock! Your instructions are perfect!
Thank you very very much.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks! I just had the exact problem happen to me (unfortunately I didn't notice until my battery was dead). Now I know what to do.
Mine is ‘07 but pretty much
Same design. Might even
Reach it without taking the
Panels off.
Thanks
Big Help
Eh thanks eh Brah - 3 other videos couldn't show this good information. Sub for Roy's!
This looks really easy. I'm going to try it.
Mahalo!!!!!!! Perfect video. Helped me diagnose and fix it quickly. Found part at Local auto parts store. God bless you!!!!!

Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
thank you so much i was having trouble even getting to the part especially with my small car that the seat doesnt go back that far in..now i know how to take that panel off it should be easier but im having trouble fitting this white stopper in the hole even with letting go of the break. any solution for that?
Only vid ive seen that tells you exactly what you need to do and just doesn't focus on the switch itself
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thank you…I do not see pieces but my lights will not go off and it drained my battery. I hadn’t realized my brake lights had stayed on. I had someone jump my car and I realized it later that night. I have had to pull out the bulbs for now. I’ll check later.
Thank you, went out to my car and found the broken pieces of plastic. I know what to do in the morning
❤thank you
Great
A similar looking plastic part fell off from my 2012 Jazz. But the brake lights turn off. Did it come off from another pedal? It's a manual transmission. And can I replace it without taking the panels off? Say, by using a mirror to see underneath?
thank you so much ! i just fixed mine !
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I have a 2006 honda pilot do you fix it the same way
Don't have a civic but was told these stop pads work universally. My auto zone only sold one brand and it said universal. Black one doesn't fit, white one does but keeps pressure on the brake so when you try to drive it just slows down after a few seconds and acts as if it's in neutral. Pls help, otherwise I am just going to cut the knob off the otherside and superglue it down.
Thanks, Roy. Ahyone know why the lights stay on when you release the brake BUT go out when you switch off and remove keys?
Hello. Why when I Install the pad and drive, does the car feels breaking?
I have a 2007 Honda Accord EX-L V6 and it appears to be different than the video. Do you have a video for it?
If I come across the job, I’ll make a video! BUT usually it’s a similar concept. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
i cant seem to unclip the first panel after unscrewing the screw. its like really hard to pull and im afraid im gonna break it
Yep, removed it and it's just still not budging?
FYI y’all, Amazon sells this piece for $4 while autozone sells it for 8
I have a 2006 honda civic , i got this same exact plastic pad , i slot it in but some time later it came off again im not sure how or why. Do you have any advice? Perhaps my car isnt compatible?
It could be that the exact part in the video or the accord isn’t compatible with your civic. IF it is suppose to be compatible and it keeps falling out, I recommend getting a replacement from the parts store you bought it from. I hope that helps and thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@RoysGarage808 i just found out i bought the wrong part, i bought whats called a clutch stopper its shaped like an inverted ice cream cone without a locking feature. Anyway thank you so much for putting up the video and for replying, take care
Faced the same problem. I think this caused my battery to die :(
Not sure you had to take off the panels.
I just used a ziptie fuck it. At least I’ll never have to replace it
Not even close
