3yrs old, still a great review, very fun and informative!
Picked one of these up last week. Awesome blend of power and technology. My dad would've loved it
Very beastly didn't bog down much at all very nice new addition to there lineup of circular saws
Good review, short, straight to the point!
I’ve recently upgraded to this saw, looking forward to use it and abuse it! 😄
We just reviewed the DeWalt DCS575 on our channel a couple of months ago, I love our saw. The specs on this saw appear to be all the exact same as on our DCS575, except this saw claims 47% more power. But beware many companies including DeWalt play specsmanship games. Their claim of 47% more power is that this DCS578X1 is using a 9 AH battery, while my DCS575 is using a 6 AH battery. That does not sound like apples and apples to me.
My understanding is that the 575 utilized an 1800 watt motor. The left blade saw uses a 2400 watt motor. This saw is basically the 575 with the more powerful motor. Probably include the 9ah battery to increase run time with the bigger motor.
The 575 definitely did not need anymore power ,it's all about marketing hype.
Clint you are the man. It’s amazing how fast you get new tools. Love your channel. Keep it up and you’ll be well on your way to 100k sub milestone.
Haha thanks Allen. The channel has been doing really well this past month and hoping to hit 100k soon. If it does, we may be going full time with this bro👊
I don't even need a saw and I already want one of these.
My 575 Flexvolt is so powerful and the ergos are great ,easy to see blade on left and right sides .
Full depth rips are the ultimate test and these saws power through it .
Loved it 100% looking forward in owning one
Nice saw and nice kit for the price. Like the blade brake. Seems super powerful. Don't like to many FlexVolt tools but this one could be my favorite 7 1/4 circular saw. Smooth cuts and looks to be easy to adjust. Great review 👍
Yeah its awesome bro. I am right handed so not my favorite setup, but those who use the left sided blades will love it
Great saws I have the first one and looks like am gettin this one as well cheers 👌👍
That depth adjustment looks great! I might have to get one when it comes available in France.
You won't be disappointed 😉
I love this Saw,..I bought the last one at my nearest Home Depot,. They definitely sell out quick
I’m actually getting this tomorrow I’m really excited and can’t wait for the guys at work to be all jealous
Let me know how you like it Jesseas210
Tons of power through the 6x6 treated sold me
I was a hardcore fan of the makita saws till i got one of these, now i own 3 of them and i gave away my makitas to mi cousin
Yep !I was always a Makita saw fan but didn't like their battery 7 1/4 saws and then bought Dewalt 575 Flexvolt and absolutely love it .
Nice. Want one. True test was the 6x6
I had no idea this was coming out. I got the 575 and use it daily. Haven't had any problems with it .
I just bought one and it’s a beast! I love it. Anyone know if there is a dust collection port for this saw?
I just saw this video to see if i made the right purchase and seems i did👍🏻👍🏻 great video and amazing how you try to give enough information about the tool.
Awesome, and thanks so much for the comment Eduardo!!!
Looks like an excellent saw to buy
Yo Quiero Dewalt Saw ! great review!
Great Tool
Looks like a great saw. l will have one.
Oh man I am in love what a work of art I also like the Skil cordless worm drive circular saw I would love to get my hands on one of them but I ain't complaining I have a Skil sidewinder good with that the design of the DeWalt flexvolt wow thanks for sharing Clint stay safe you and your family nothing well wishes when it's nasty pandemic is all over and said and done with I'll come back to CZcams and I'll support you no matter what
Thanks brother, and I hope you and your is doing well buddy👊
Best review I have ever seen. PRO
Haha, awesome!!! Thanks Shane!!!!
Yo TRZ!!! Seems like a nice saw. Stay safe brother!
AMOS! You as well my friend 👊👊👊
I'm definitely getting one of these I need that power for demo
Hi TRZ,
I wish DeWalt can make this exact model but with a blade on the left side. Also a cover plate so we can screw on and cover the dust extractor section. I still like the dust coming out on the bottom then the side.
I know some like to use a vacuum attachment for indoor work. That's why it will be cool if they can add a cover plate for those that don't.
Now a comparison video on both models to see if there's really a big difference.
Highly recommend
Awesome review TRZ! I have the DCS575. Is this (DCS578) essentially a beefed up version of it? Also it looks like DeWalt updated the logo on the 9.0 battery.
Buy this saw. Put all the rest you have on Craigslist. Enough Said.
Looks like a beastly saw! I haven't figured out how to cut Lazer straight yet with a right side blade. I'm a left side blade guy and I can cut Lazer straight and don't need a rip fence. I have a dcs 570 and need a fence to cut straight but don't need one for my dcs 391
No hesitation. Plenty of power!
It's a beast bro💪💪💪
Milwaukee has shown us the peak of the 18v platforms capabilities with their recent tablesaw. So this 60v dewalt platform and makita 40v really is the future of tools imo. And I just invested red last year. ☹
👍I see a new saw in my future
Nice Video and revies as always. WHere can you get or purchase a dust port adapter if Dewalt makes one or any after market one? Let me know please.
I have Milwaukee tools but I like DeWalt tools to I would like to have both of them.
I have been looking for the dust extractor for this and having a hard time finding it
Love it Clint, keep it comin man. Wonder how this stacks up against I guess ANY 7-1/4 circ saw of any class coffee or otherwise. I’ve never seen a saw dive into solid treated and not bog even a little.... insane
I really think this could be the most power 7-1/4" out there Austin. Like you said, you usually get a little bog, but this just kept going. I just wish the blade was on the other side because that's how I like it, but still a beast!!!!!
Tool Review Zone yeah that’s what i was thinking! Do you think it’s more powerful than the rear handle? Also like to see this up against the power detect with the new 8.0 setup
Tool Review Zone yeah I was wondering why they don’t make the exact same body and everything just on the other side like the 6-1/2 ones. Why does it have to be bigger rear handle?
Did someone knows where can I get a replacement for the bolt that holds the blade?
I would like to know what changed between the dcs575 and the dcs578... is that when dewalt upgraded the cells in their batteries? Did they change the motor? All I see is 47%more power but what changed??
Do you think I can cut granite counter tops with it. Wet cut?? With a diamond blade ??
Damn this saw looks nice
Beastly Matt💪💪
Nice video +
Heep the gd work
Thanks Adam!!!
Anyone else have problems with the blade alignment on this saw? Trying to cut using a speed square as a guide, I noticed the saw would feed away from the square, checked the blade in relation to the base plate, and it was 3/16" different from front to back of blade. There is no adjustments, so I ground out the front mount, and trimmed the edges of the base. Found the front mount was really loose, so also had to turn and install a bushing. It's a great saw!
Is this saw worth upgrading from the Flexvolt advantage 20v?
When you installed the blade did you have to knockout that diamond shaped center on the blade?
I had the regular xr saw, I guy bought it from me on the job site, he tried it and had to have it..I went and bought this one...wish the regular xr batteries would work in it, but no biggie
I just ordered this an it also comes with a. 1/2 impact wrench can’t wait until it gets here. I would have preferred the blade on the left but it’s no deal breaker
You will love this saw Caleb
@@ToolReviewZone needs dust extractor,basically illegal.not to have that,or the guide,which i throw,is cheaping out.for an axtra 5c,they could of incuded them.
I love mine
You should put that up against Milwaukee 2732-20 with 12.0 battery with blade all the way down in pressure treated pine. Workshop addict did a comparison, but it wasn't too good because he had a 8.0 battery in it.
Hi, how is it compared to the DCS 577 Wormdrive?
Hi, peoples... love the review, I have the 575 and it is a beast..!! I have let a few chippies use my saw on different sites here in the UK and they all said there was only one problem with it.... they had to return to me and not take it home with them....!! Love, Light and Peace to you all, no matter what tool platform you prefer...😏 👍👍👍
DeWaltaholic UK have fun with your generator and extension cord lol
I am an Aussie builder and have the 575 it is excellent, great ergos ,insane power .
Dewalt needs to make a left blade version. Yes they have the worm drive, but it's to heavy...get on this Dewalt. Hope it's in the works..
Anyone know how to tighten the depth leaver? When I have the saw sitting on its lowest depth setting it's a very lose lock and it's sometimes unlocks it's self it's pretty annoying.
Its defective shouldnt be like that
DeWalt my kind of tool number one I always smash my like botton kaboooooooooooooom
I got mine today at homedepot
I have the 20V XR, and don't really need much more... But I think you might have just sold me on getting this version.
I bought this for $209 and a free 6Ah battery and free shipping on TylerTool a month back. Do I need it? No. Did I really want it? Yes. I also bought a pair of the 9Ah for $180 and a 20V chainsaw for $80 last March at Murdoch's. Can't wait to get a chance to use it sometime.
Does the flexvolt battery touch the wood at full depth as your cutting
Great question. Na, it sits high enough but looks like it dosen't
@@ToolReviewZone okay if i dont ask somebody else might have the question and cant think of it from the camera angle looked like the battery was dragging on the wood good to know it wasnt
Holy fuck 47%. The dcs75 is a beast already and the strongest on the market. Man dewalt is really going hard with their new power detect and flexvolt tools.
All we need now is a power detect impact driver
Can you use this saw or any circular saw on galvanized steel with the RIGHT BLADE?
That saw cuts through wood like cheese! LOL :D
Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you tried - Schallingora Dexterous Programme Scheme (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one off guide for building any shed in no time with no experience without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy at very last got cool success with it.
So sweet I bought the fuel 2732 and its 3lb heavier and cant touch the 60v d.w. power.
Can i ask what stand you are using?
super saw.
Home Depot today had saw, 9 ah battery, charger, Brushless hammer drill and another 2a battery for $299
what the hell
in my country flexvolt 54v without battery is +500$
I want to visit usa just to get some good tools...
Lmao that's too funny I just bought that kit yesterday. Unreal deal!
Picked one up today , great deal.
I cant even get a 54v on it's own for under 600 euro in ireland
Just ordered online
Can you use it on track rail?
does the blade guard catch as much the ridgid octane you reviewed?
Not as bad Lila, but still waaaaay better than the last Makita I reviewed
Dust extraction is a problem. I realize the blade guard handle passes in front of the dust port that prevents a vac hose attachment to be added to the saw, but with a little more design effort, I think DeWalt could have added a dust collector chute for a dust vac system. Bosch did it on their corded line.
There is a dust collector chute that comes with the saw, you can choose to install it or not
Ok i picked one up - welcome to 60v! ! That new tool smell...
Awesome, how do you like it Guy?
@@ToolReviewZone slicin and dicin my man! My old 20v is great for light work but not really usable to build pressure-treated decks. This kit came with a 9ah batt and fast charger (8ah) - a great deal versus just buying a single battery or tool-only.
Damn right brother. That saw is a beast Guy, glad it's working out my brother 👊👊👊
They need to make it track compatible like the UK version!!
DeWalt's cost arm and legs in my country. Same with Milwaukee brand.
Mình rất thích dewalt...
Is there a power difference between 6amp and 9amp? Or just better life difference?
Longer run time and less sagging in voltage.
Would 6ah flexvolt work in this saw
Nooice!
Too bad it isn't track-compatible. Also the charger is too small for the battery. Otherwise I'd take it for sure! I have a 575, but was very disappointed to find out that it wasn't track-compatible either! Most of the flexvolt tools I've tried are beasts! I love the 54v line!
Looks like they changed and updated the sticker on the flexvolt battery
They may have. I'll have to look now that you mentioned it bro👊
Seems they did. But it looks a little cheap now... 🙄
Will anyone do a comparison with the DCS575 and the DCS578?
How does it compare to hikoki circular saw?
Have you heard when DCS578 is getting released in the UK
Great review! Very nass lack! Mdf devil, grrr. How do you do the voice over? Thanks and God bless!😁👍
I'm looking to step up to a bigger circular saw I have the Milwaukee 5 1/2 inch circular saw works great for what I need because I'm ripping a lot of studs are you at the chop box but I want to go with Milwaukee just because of all the batteries I have what size would you recommend
If u are ripping alot of stud get a table saw milwaukee have a cordless table saw
@@harrishpersad3643 I have the DeWalt 12in dual bevel compound miter with the rolling stand I also got the 10 in table saw from DeWalt just recently purchased them both because I needed new ones for myself the guys really screwed up my other ones and what it pays to have it fixed for a few hundred more just purchased new ones
@@harrishpersad3643 that's basically the only tools I have 4 DeWalt is the table saw the chop box I also have the battery operated 7 1/4 inch chop box for trim and the rest of my tools all Milwaukee from my screw guns to my jigsaw my isolator you name it it's Milwaukee but I have the 5 3/8 of 5 and 1/2 in circular saw from Milwaukee it's a pain to see the line because it's a small saw I was just wondering if I should purchase the 7 1/4 I'll go for the Worm Drive saw from Milwaukee
That piece on the top that you didn't know what it is is a rafter hanger for the saw
can you compare this with 577?
SEE YOUR NEIGHBORS IN THE WINDOW LOL, nice review , does not take any 20 v only flex?
Just Flex Ken
Do these come in right handed models? also gotta get a Diablo blade on that ;)
I think it's just the left bro. Diablo rules, but just wanted to show what it could do with the stock blade
Matt L 99% of people who are right handed use a saw with a right side blade ,that's why they are the most popular particularly among professionals.
Sold mine n got the flex volt worm drive. i ain't looking back
This is the new one bro. I love the rear handle, but this replaced the last 60v
Has anyone tried cutting tin panels with a metal blade with this one?
Just baught one
I have the Flexvolt 575 and the power is insane ,there's no way I need this saw .
Oooh yeah I know the one , that saw is a beast . Every cut I did with it ..is meean .
Home depot has this saw along with a hammer drill for 299 right now. Awesome deal
battery is like 200
How is the db on this tool
It's not bad. The wormdrive seems louder for sure
@@ToolReviewZone not as loud as the WormDrive wow that is pretty quiet on db then
Only flex volt batteries can be used?
Yes
A good saw for a good price 340 with battery 9 amp.
That's a very powerful circular saw. But the guard seems to be a little bit of a problem. And I can bet Milwaukee and Makita is hard working to beat DeWalt. Those three at it all the time.
The older flexvolt saw spanks all the other saws in the market. This one will double spank them
Keep reading that the boot is installed crooked so you cant use that as a guide for cutting. Anyone else come across this?
New subscriber here, how’s the battery life? I’m trying to decide if I can get away with one battery in the day, low to moderate use, or if I need a second battery
Yes you will get away with one battery if only doing cross cuts but if you do a lot of full depth rips you will need 2 batteries as they will draw a lot of power as any powerful saw will .
Would you pick the seven and a quarter Milwaukee brushless fuel what would you go with the rear handle Worm Drive saw probably is 7 and 1/4 because like I said the 5 and 1/2 or 5 and 3/8 is really more than enough that I need it's just a little bit of a pain when cutting plywood because you really have to overlook to see where you're cutting the line
The dewalt rear handle is a monster and is my favorite out of all the others, but the Makita is also a nice saw that is super smooth
@@ToolReviewZone and that takes the 20 volt Max correct because I'm looking into purchasing the new Dewalt concrete nail gun Vince from VCG did a video on it and super impressive should I take the same battery I have to look into that thanks hope all is well brother
