    I do drops when I'm just playing around with idea's and making small trials. I don't think there's anything wrong with it either! You can always go back and weigh everything out if its something you like and want to go forward with and refine.

    Thank you Dave! How do you distinguish materials which are used as notes and which are used specifically in accords?

    • @DenverDave
      @DenverDave  Před 2 lety

      Joey, that’s a really good question. End it seems as always in Perfumery there is not necessarily a distinction. You can use a specific material say Linalyl Acetate in an accord or just use it in the list of one of your materials in your formulation. But I see where you’re going…something more powerful like ribes mercaptan should be diluted down to .001% it is more likely going to be used in an accord.
      But there are Perfumer‘s who have a long list of 80 materials in there formula and it could be included in that as well individually. Dave

    Hi there , First of all I wanna thank you for making such great video. I started DIY perfum at home about 1 year ago, at first I just used essential oils blend + DPG + alcohol but after making so much combinations and experiment I realized that I have to find ways to improve performance of my sample so I ordered so many chemicals from the internet but there is problem I cannot find a list or any description about each one and how to use or why to use , Is it possible for you to help me for this issue if I send their names?

      I can help you with this issue, I made videos on individual materials. I explain how and why to use it and describe in detail what each smell like. I have a ton of videos on individual materials. I wanted descriptions of each one and that’s why I made these videos. I hope you enjoy them and find them helpful. Dave

    Hey question here. Let’s say I have an extrait de parfum that was 30ml and had a 40% oil concentration, and I wanted it to last longer...would it be possible to dilute the perfume with more perfumers alcohol to take it from a 30ml to let’s say a 60 ml. If the extrait de parfum was 40% oil concentration in a 30ml bottle... adding 30ml more of alcohol when then technically make it an eau de parfum with a 20% oil concentration. Is this possible or would this ruin the fragrance?

      You are exactly correct, and yes like you said just make sure you are using perfumers alcohol to dilute it with. It will not mess up the fragrance at all. Dave
