- I recently painted this watercolor sketch as a way to explain "lost and found edges" in watercolors (also known as hard and soft edges). In this video I'll explain all about edges in art, and the various watercolor techniques for painting hard, soft, found and lost edges.

Hello! I'm Anthony. An independent artist and illustrator based near Paris in France. Watercolor painting was my first passion. So a few years ago I took out my old paints, and rekindled my love for watercolors. I decided to start charting some of my watercolor experiences in the form of my blog, “WatercolorAffair.com” (and now through my CZcams channel). My objective was to start sharing some of my hard won knowledge in the hope that it will help and inspire others to paint with watercolors!
Thank you for following !

I really appreciate the explanations for how the different kind s of edges work in the composition. Knowing HOW to do them is only half the battle; we also need to know WHEN and WHERE to do them!
Best explanation of lost and hard edges that I have seen! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for explaining edges in watercolor in such a simple way your demonstration was amazing . Very precious video for beginners 🙏🏻❤
Wonderful explanation of lost and found edges. I’m going to attempt your demonstration. Thanks for sharing your sketch, photo and painting techniques. 👏🏻
Thank you for such a clear and concise explanation. I only started painting last year and slowly but surely learning with wonderful teachers like you. Long way to go yet lol
Brilliant! Fabulous description and demonstration. Lovely little painting too! Love your methods of teaching and I love to just listen to your voice, very soothing. Binge watching your videos.
Hello Anthony, thank you so much for this demo. I finally
painted this and was delighted how it turned out, I love this simple little painting.
Very interesting lesson of Art and a very beautiful still life. 👍
Very useful explanations and thoughts about this topic.
Just enough explanation, not too much, exactly like these edges.
You tease the brain.
Thank you.
I would be glad to hear you analyse a larger, more complex painting. It does not have to be your own.
Maybe one of a well established painter who is very efficient in contrasting all these types of edges.
Such a great explanation, and this painting is absolutely stunning!!
What a wonderful and clear lesson...an added bonus after doing your course.
Thanks Riesa !
Wonderful paint
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful.
Excellent lesson Anthony! My daughter already has my rendition of your '"watercolor coffee painting" in her kitchen. I can see this being added!
Maybe I drink too much coffee ? It keeps cropping up as a subject in my watercolors !
Not believing my good luck by finding your channel, will allow me (a watercolor amateur & fan) to discover the watercolor jewels you are sharing with your 🎨 hunters 🎨
I will for sure, enjoy it & learn! Thanks
