    Try a 26 turn Mabuchi RS 550VC on 3s. (You may find these motors on EBay) I run this combo in my Traxxas Bandit. I get upper 20’s or lower 30’s mph. It’s a high torque motor so I run 23/90 pinion to spur gearing.

  • @19Marc79
    @19Marc79 Před 4 lety +1

    63 km/h is super quick for that Sports Tuned ! It sounded so smooth on the road, that I would have estimated 50km/h max....But for me it is more important how a setup feels and sounds overall - rather than the cold numbers on the GPS only. But playing around with numbers can also be interesting - especially if you have abundant freetime in pandemic times ;_) I liked it more in the old days, when I had no GPS :) The measuring devices take away the magic a bit in my opinion...And it also opens the door for neurotic data collecting....RC should be FUN and put a smile on one´s face (=> 5:04) ! That´s why I still do it :)

    I'm thinking insanely fast on brushless and how much extra power before speed controller burns out? When my oval block tyres were fit fo the bin and paper thin I rubber glued rubber bands around them and found them surprisingly grippy and had a slight speed increase probably because it increased diameter and lessened rolling resistance!!! Lol couldn't bear not to run it :)

I guess the 16 stands for 16 turns so that is kinda weak compared to 22 turns or more I see on some. Strange thing is my RC car was way faster with the Kyosho than the standard 540.

    if you are sure on the base max rpm and dont change ratios and tyres ; the maths is basic :
    34.7/15 000 * 19 000 = 43.95 so if the number is not the same ; either the base rpm is wrong ; either something else changed .
    gear ratios arent magic ; more power does not give more speed it gives more acceleration ; if the engine maxes out rpm with the lower cells ; then you dont need more power to go faster ; you need more rpm.

      Thanks for taking the time to comment Greg 👊🏻
      My idea regarding this little video series was to use the same platform, and then go from 540 right through all the motors I have. I just wanted to see what the step up in mph was against the previous motor 🤷🏼‍♂️
      Now I’ve got all nine videos made I think I achieved that.
      Thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻

    It’s going it get dangerous, as the top speed increases. You mite need to get rid of that front one-way.

    Since your all about tamiya, I figured you could answer a question of mine? I have a old tamiya car and I can’t find it anywhere in the internet
    The name of the car is Idemitsu Motion Mugen Civic, it’s a 1/10 scale. Message me back if you even see this. Thanks
