Again a great Video. Interesting that the Super Stock RZ with ball bearings is almost as good as a fast Brushless Motor.

Love my super stock, only issue is the price. Nowdays the brushless motors and ckmbo are getting so cheap to the point that cost less than the super stock motor alone.

Nice comparison video 👍 I use the tamiya RZ TUNED in a lot of my custom builds 🤘😎🤘

Anything to note with temps on the 10.5?

Hi Cageman great videos. I was wondering if you would know how i can get the max out of my optima mid custom. The motor is a super stock type rr it has a 74 tooth spur and i am running a 20tooth pinion What size pinion would be a better match. Thanks.

What 74tooth spur did you find. Can’t find one

Unfortunately, this doesn't say much about motor performance. Each motor needs different gearing to get optimal performance - I'm pretty sure that the 380 motor would burn under 5,8 ratio, if it went to a track..

      Thank you for your advice.
I have received similar comments ever.
Of course I understand gear ratio is important.
I think some R/C car users will be interested in this comparison.

@@cagemanch.7567 The comparison is definitely interesting, but the result suggesting that a ST motor is close to a 13.5T brushless is a bit misleading - and I've already seen suggestions on forums based on this video, which might not end well. But I understand that getting the right gearing would be extremely challenging.

@@Papinak2 it's not really that surprising. Most people today haven't experienced the good brushless motors. They are all out of production now. The RZ is great for what it is but it would have been far outperformed by the old Trinity modified speed gems or Reedy spec 19 quad mag motors of the 2000's. The new re-release speed gems and Reedy radon/integy motors are trash. The RZ is the last good quality brushed motor on the market and it's made in Japan just like the old good motors! The brushed motors got killed because of high maintenance and limited max current that can be run through the brushes. Once you get into high voltage & amps it's gotta be brushless all the way. Also nobody ever breaks in their brushed motors so they are missing out on 15 to 20% performance!

This video upsets brushless fanboys that just cannot accept the result. Brushless is faster with timing, gearing blah blah blah. Yawn....
The best comment I saw on a forum is that brushless should be tested with a HV lipo. Then the brushed with what? 4 x AA? 🤣

Brushed RZ motor is much cheaper than 10.5t, even 21.5t brushless

Most useless review i have ever seen.. Are you seriously suggesting a Sport Tuned motor is faster than a 17.5t brushless, and almost the same speed as 13.5t..? I would delete this from CZcams if i could...
