Targeted Species:
The California spiny lobster is a species of spiny lobster found in the eastern Pacific Ocean from Monterey Bay, California, to the Gulf of Tehuantepec, Mexico. It typically grows to a length of 30 cm and is a reddish-brown color with stripes along the legs, and has a pair of enlarged antennae but no claws.
Legal Size limit for the California spiny lobster :
3 ¼ inches
Any lobster kept must be at least 3 ¼ inches long measured in a straight line on the midline of the back from the rear edge of the eye socket to the rear edge of the body shell. Everyone taking lobster must have a measuring device capable of accurately determining legal length.

That is such a great tip to leave the shorts in your net when you drop your net back down. Going out after the light rain this Saturday and going to leave the shorts in and see what we pull up. Thank you sir.

I agree with putting shorts back in the net. But if Fish and game sees you doing it , not sure what they’d say about it? Supposed to release em once their measured short .
