zowie is the mouse embodiment of a cs player, they both never truly change only develop bit by bit over time but still keep all of the core principles. oh yeah and they’re both stubborn and hate change.

Makes sense. They were some of the first on the scene and developed together. But zowie's monitor side is doing pretty well with all the dyac stuff. It makes way more sense for the lack of change in CS than why zowie refuses to attempt a true lightweight wireless gaming mouse for the price that they are charging tho.

The curved corners on the zowie mice are the main reason they have the superior shape. It's also the reason the DAV3 is so uncomfortable for me but I think I'm gonna try to layer some grip tape over the corner and see if that makes it more comfortable.

The DA V3 not rounding the corners under the clicks (top right) is what killed it for me personally. The Zowie shape is just slightly better imo though I do not like Zowie coatings/shell material at all. If they released an EC2L (EC1.5?) in between the 1 and 2 in size and updated their shell material and coating that would be the end game for me. Razer needs to sort out their QC issues with the DA V3 and also what is with them and harsh edges? I imagine Bordzy doesn’t run into the edges under the clicks as a problem due to not palming?

The ec2 cw was my first ever zowie mouse, and I used the DAv3 for many months when it first released, I even tried the faker.
With that said, I really really enjoyed DAv3 you can definitely feel how much smoother of an input it has but unfortunately the 4k hz didn’t work for me in any game including valorant so I didn’t get to take advantage of it. But like techne I also had creaking happen from where the bottom and top shell met that just became so annoying and started to deteriorate that enjoyment of I spent 150+ 30 for a dongle. The shape was great though and the faker coating is really good and I hope they go with that coating on all their future mice!
As for my experience with the ec2-cw the shape is just a bit different and smaller which just felt amazing, I also like to use it on my skypad which makes it feel much lighter. The coating feels much better imo than razers. I like the notchy scroll wheel for gaming cause it never accidentally actuates like most other mice including DAv3. I like the ec2 clicks but tbh I’d rather have optical cause they last longer and are more reliable but I’ve never used a mouse till it breaks so shouldn’t be an issue (hopefully).
But yea as of now my opinion is id rather pay the same amount of money for a zowie, cause I don’t think there is really enough of a difference in performance in the practical sense, I also like having a charging dock and having the peace of mind knowing I’ll always have a strong mouse connection. I also like the look of the dock on my desk rather than a tiny little dongle.
But both are top tier mice!

Even after all this time swapping out dozens of mice I still have an old 3310 EC2-A that I keep going back to since It has always been my reliable top performer despite its older hardware and modest weight. The shape and tank-like build quality is also top notch.
The fact that Zowie have kept the wireless version mostly the same sans some minor upgrades makes it a bit of a double edged sword - longtime Zowie users would probably find it an appreciable upgrade while people looking for a mouse with the latest hardware and lowest weight possible will probably be a little underwhelmed. Either way, Zowie doesn't seem to care what people think and I respect them for that.

  • @ChunVuong
    @ChunVuong Před rokem +15

I got the Viper V2 Pro (with 4k dongle) and EC2-CW and here's my thoughts:
    - The ergo shape of the ergonomic mice feel so good when compared with ambidextrous mice.
    - The 4k dongle I personally can not feel any difference (I did try a lot) and the battery drain was so brutal. The fear of your battery running out/having to check Razer Synapse regularly is a really irritating in my opinion. If somehow 4k is a stock option and battery life isn't that bad I would go with 4k.
    - The charging dock with EC2-CW is just a crazy QoL to me. In the end, I'm not a professional gamer in any way so having the ability to live care-free about my mouse's battery is enough to top other mice off the chart when comparing with Zowie.
***Update: I'm now using the Razer V3 Pro, Pwnage Stormbreaker and Zowie U2. All 3 of them are just really good and nothing to complaint about.

I just compared Logitech Pro X Superlight, Razer Viper Pro V2 and Zowie FK1-C, for my future use. Also, I do own a old version of the Zowie FK1 (more than 6 years of using that one) , which I recently repainted. Some points were the Zowie stand out:
    1. The shape is amazing (the Razer Viper is a close second while the Logi somehow felt short on my ringfinger)
    2. The spacer between left and right click, you can rest your finger in front of the mousewheel without pressing any clicks there
    3. No software by any means if going with a wired version. (Yes, I am using the cable version since the wireless Zowie in Europe is way to overpriced.)
If I would compare the Razer to the Zowie by build.. the Razer feels a bit cheaper when squeezing its body. I do like the finish of the Razer white, it feels like it will be fine after hours of gameplay. On the other hand, the Zowie is able to withstand that as well. The Logi is a bit slippery, so, if I do not put stickers on it it is a loss.
About the glides and the feel on the mousepad. The Logi did best on that, than Zowie for some reason (even with stock skates), the Razer scrubbed more on my mousepads.

So i like to play CS, and i own Superlight, Dav3, EC3-CW, for me EC3 has the best shape, since i have a small-medium hand, but what i love about it is the clicks, they seem to be instant... for example whenever i do a reflex test with zowie i get about 165 ms, but with Dav/superlight 185+. The biggest drawback is the weight imo but you can get used to it. Also the build quality from zowie is excelent. After 7 months, I can say that altho I still pick my Superlight once in a while, I perform the best with the EC2. Idk why, but flicking, moving around and tapping with it just feel natural. I personally used the DAv3 for roughly 7-8months and recently just made the swap to the EC2 wireless, and i prefer the EC2 wireless way more due to its shape. If you're someone who thinks that shape is the most important, i would say get the zowie mouse, but if you're someone that doesn't want to miss out on the latest tech (4k polling rate, optical switches, better sensor, etc) i would say get the DA v3 pro, but in my experience i can't tell the difference in performance between the two other than it feels way more comfortable on the zowie mouse. Also one other thing to point out that during the time i was using my DA V3 pro was that the scroll wheel was way too sensitive, which caused me to jump by accident a lot in tac fps. (valo/csgo).

How does one even begin to describe being part of the Zowie cult? I think the biggest thing is consistency. Even between sizes it's a shape that is so locked in to the way you grip the mouse that you can go back to it reliably time and time again. They have top notch R&D when it comes to performance, EMI shielding, and they stuck with a 3370 because they tested the hell out of it for ages. A Zowie mouse just never lets you down, regardless of it not being the "best specs."
Aside from Zowie, I mainly have used the X2 Mini recently, and Finalmouse UL2/Starlight Small for the longest time. For games that are more tactical shooters, Val or CSGO specifically, I just think Zowie has the edge when it comes to consistency.

I have a lot to say about the zowie ergo shape, and won't dump it all here, but the weight of my EC1-CW is actually helpful for me - it takes away some of my shakiness, makes me feel smooth and overall is a buff to consistency. It's a hard sell in terms of value for money over the Razer DAV3, but I'm glad I bought the zowie and not the Dav3.
