    I have the Legion and it's a game changer ...the screen is very large and vividly looks amazing compared to the Oled ..Triple A titles, it plays very well...battery is decent, but it doesn't matter to me when I use a 100w charging brick very fast charging ...Legion 👊🏽😂

    One important thing you missed out on the resolution is Ally X has VRR and legion go doesn't. IMO 1080p with VRR> 2k no VRR

    • @jhonrock2386
      @jhonrock2386 Před 28 dny +8

      ABSOLUTELY!!! None of these devices has the hardware capability to run games at decent graphical quality with smooth/stable framerate, so, the VRR function is an absolute must have for, at least, alleviate the unstable framerate problem. And the VRR on ROG Ally is quite the good one cuz it works on all the refresh rate range supported by it's screen, from 1 to 120hz, which can make even 30'ish fps games a little bit more tolerable. I got myself exceptionally impressed when I saw what the combo VRR + 40fps + 120hz can do to the "framerate smoothness experience".

    • @blastu2fool
      @blastu2fool Před 28 dny +9

      VRR don't matter when it comes to Legion, it runs very smooth

    • @justswitched8841
      @justswitched8841 Před 28 dny +6

      Technically no 1080p is not better than 2k resolution. 2k res is noticeably sharper than 1080p. I have an og ally and compared both.Also what you can run on it depends on the game. Plenty of older triple aaa and 2d games run great at 2k res and have 60 plus fps. Also if you do emulation retro games look waaay better on the legion due to the resolution and screen size. Also Vrr doesn't really make that much of difference if you use the right settings you'll get 60 plus fps in most games on the legion. Also combine with frame gen I rarely see fps below 60. Also Vrr only works from 48hz and up.

    • @paulsegrue5133
      @paulsegrue5133 Před 28 dny

      @@justswitched8841The Ally has low framerate compensation so if framerates drop below 48fps it duplicates frames to fit into the 48hz to 120hz VRR range. Games run great on the Ally even in the 30fps because of LFC.
      Personally I have been using Gsync monitors and compatible TVs for years. I am not a fan of Vsync especially if you are struggling to hit a target framerate. Latency or stuttering is poor, I noticed this with the 144hz portable 15 inch monitor I use with the Ally, the framerates are much smoother on the Ally's VRR screen.

    • @jhonrock2386
      @jhonrock2386 Před 28 dny

      @@justswitched8841 First, OP didnt say 1080p was better than 2K, he said he would prefer 1080p with VRR than 2k without it. Second, the VRR on Ally acts through all the refresh rate range of its screen, from 1 to 120. Even if, "today", you can still play "any" game on these devices at stable 60fps, its not certain that the same will also happen "tomorrow". And when this "tomorrow" comes, the VRR will give the Ally a slightly longer life span, because it will let you run games under 60fps with a bit more confort to the eyes. Watching several Go, Ally and Claw reviews (Im deciding which one to buy), Ive been seeing on the comment sections some people already complaining that their Steam Deck isnt delivering a satisfactory gameplay experience in newer games anymore.

    Super excited for the ROG Ally X. I might be insane preordered it for music production. I missed out on the original Ally but more RAM, more space and more battery? I seem to have stumbled upon the ROG Ally X at the perfect time. I have an Odin 2, a PS4 and a Switch but my laptops are too old to run Steam games well. I'm getting this ROG Ally X to use FL Studio on mobilly and also play some games I can't play anywhere else like "Fading Afternoon" or "Palworld" with my friends or the new Sonic and Dragon Ball games when they come out. I was gonna get a dock and turn this thing into my new lortable desktop. I already have a screen and keyboard/mouse. I'm super excited to cook up some tracks on here and also play a few games too.
    My friends are saying I'm crazy for buying this instead of a laptop or a desktop. But I wanted something more portable & it seems to be able to do everything I want it to do. I'm not a super huge gamer so I won't be playing a lot of FPS games or any od the huge flagship titles. Maybe some anime games as they release and some light emulation that I can't do on my Odin 2. I hope I don't regret my purchase 😭
