Little known fact, Seattle’s horn is a legit decommissioned ferry horn that was repurposed from a scraped ferry that made trips across the Puget Sound for decades. Pairs perfectly with “Lithium!” GO KRAKEN!

As someone that is not a Colorado fan, Chase the Sun is an incredible goal song and it's so different from everything else.

I think this survey kinda shafted a few teams like the Avs, a lot of goal songs are remixed for the arenas that play them so they sound almost like different songs. Chase the Sun is waaaaay more hype and upbeat at games when compared to the OG recording on CZcams, plus the audience interaction of 'hey hey hey!' is really fun

I haven't been to enough arenas to know them. I know the CBJ one is an EDM version of the Airwolf theme, which is pretty awesome.

I'm pretty sure Skinner's goal song is "Dance with Somebody" because one of the NHL 'kid reporters' was this little girl who started singing it to him because she wanted to dance with him, lol

Raise up by Petey Pablo is a good fit for the Carolina Hurricanes. It’s one example of a song “meant” for a team that isn’t about the team, the song instead about the geographical area of North Carolina. As a result, teams like the Charlotte Hornets or Carolina Panthers could also use it as well.
Yeah, all except for that part where a lot of us who live in Raleigh wouldn't piss on people from Charlotte if they were on fire... yeah... sure...

My suggestions for goal songs:
Carolina Hurricanes: Ridin' the Storm Out - REO Speedwagon (especially the live version). The title of the song says it all!
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Zoo - Scorpions. SOMEONE should have this a goal song, so why not my beloved Leafs?
Winnipeg Jets: Winged Assassins - Anvil. Most people probably haven't heard this song, let alone the band - give it a listen and tell me it isn't perfect!

I always liked when Ottawa had individual songs:
- Alfie with Beautiful Day - U2
- Heatley with The Heat is On - Glenn Fray (had to google the artist on that one lol)
- Spezza with Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO
- Mike Fisher with his own custom song that his buddy recorded
- and of course Song 2 - Blur which they've had forever
"Song 2" is a classic celebration song, have to disagree with THG on that--definitely belongs near the top

I'm pretty sure it's Seattle's or once was their power play song, but I love it when they play Man in the Box by Alice in Chains. One of my favorites.

I have done a complete 180 on shout. I didn't like it at first, but I do now for the sole reason that the crowd gets into it by echoing the "hey"s. It's lots of fun when you're at a game and you hear thousands of people doing it at once.

The Detroit Red Wings used to play 2 Unlimited when they scored. That song playing after Darren McCarty scored on Ron Hextall in G4 of the 97 Cup Final will live on in my memories forever.
I always relate it to the Yzerman shot from the blue line to down the Blues. And these days with the Sharks major penalty comeback in Game 7 on the Knights a few years back
Thank god you rate the Canucks’ last here. Been to 3 Canucks games this year, including the Sharks game last night and every time it was just awkward. Even when I’m with my friends it’s weird to sing it
It makes more sense as a win song than as a goal song. "Holiday" by Green Day was perfect!
I wish they at least just used the full song instead of mixing it with that dumb "La la la" song halfway thru. It gets you ready for one song, then changes to a different song..very offputting. But they obviously thought the actual song didn't sound quite right for a goal song so they changed the back end. Instead, they either should have leaned into the weirdness of it, or chosen a different song. Now we got this zombie thing.

I'm super happy to hear that somebody agrees with me about the Red Wings, and Blues goal songs. The fact alone that they're custom songs for the team is pretty great, and hearing it live, and hearing how much fun scoring a goal in those arenas is, is enough to make me want to go see them live again, or, in the wildest of fantasies, to actually be the one scoring that goal.
Even as a cannon-loving CBJ fan, the correct answer is the Rangers. Next question
The Stars goal song being anywhere outside of the top 3 should be considered a crime. Hearing it live in the stadium and chanting along is just fantastic.
Actually being there when it plays is an experience every Stars fan should have.
The only hockey team I have ever seen that uses Chelsea Dagger as their goal song other than the Blackhawks is the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks/Fighting Sioux, such a great atmosphere

It always gets the crowd going and the "Hey! Hey! Hey, hey hey!" is often deafeningly loud.
It has been their goal song for nearly three decades, it has stood the test of time.

While I don't mind Zombienation at sporting events, it just feels weird as a goal song. It feels like more of a song to get you hyped. It kinda feels weird to start jamming to it while you're already hopping and excited

Chelsea Dagger is the goal song for my team in Yokohama. The goal they play when we get scored against is Holiday. As a Canucks fan, it’s very conflicting.

Kernkraft 400 is also the Goal Song of the German Football national Team.
OHL Flint Firebirds has a player Amadeus Lombardi and when he scores they play chorus Rock Me Amadeus, it is awesome to listen to.

I'm not a huge Nirvana fan either, but I am a huge music fan. A few years ago I went back and listened to all of their albums. I quickly discovered Kurt Cobain was a mastermind of songwriting. I can see how they might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's easy to tell with a few listens that he was a genius. On par with the other greats.
When Palat was still with the Bolts… Sweet Caroline playing in Amalie was a fucking experience. So fun.

Back in the day as a Caps fan when Keith Jones scored they used to play Mr. Jones by Counting Crows. Just great stuff. Personally I would use the Black Sails theme as my goal song.
THG Cmon! The Wild goal song (once youre in the arena and a goal is scored) has to be one of the most crowd-engaging songs. MN has always liked the general crowd interaction so I think its gotta do with that.
Maybe an off season/summer idea. What song would THG choose for each team? Example Rammstein’s “feuer frei!” For the Flames. Doesn’t have to directly connect to the team name, maybe the band connects to the city or something like that
Chase the Sun I’m miffed is ranked dead last. It’s an epic song - ask the darts enthusiasts in the UK. That is THE anthem that people get absolutely psyched up for between matches and it’s amazing to hear them sing along with the notes. I think if Americans were less shy about singing to things, and Colorado did the same, it’d be #1 easy.
I like the old goal song that nearly every NHL team used in the early to mid 1990's-before each team had their own.
Assuming you mean Rock & Roll part 2, you might like the old goal song, but Gary Glitter liked the young kids. That's why you don't hear it anymore.

@@joemcardle7728 yeah I think all but a handful of teams used it in the ‘90s. The Devils were so attached to it (it was tradition to yell “Hey! You suck!” instead of just Hey!) that they kept it into the 2010s despite the bad associations. A vocal chunk of their fans are still mad about it being gone.

@de-faultde-fault6847 , I suppose it was an easy carryover decision when they moved, but apparently, the Rockies was the first NHL team to use it. I'm dating myself, but I definitely remember enjoying listening to it on their radio broadcasts, along with that distinctive goal horn.
Any Bruins fans that don't like Kernkraft 400 and want it replaced should find a new team to root for. That is and will always be our goal song.
Another neat idea for a video might be if you were to to suggest your own goal songs. List the teams (including the ones with individual goal songs) and go through which ones you think should stay as is, and for the ones you want to change, make suggestions on what they should change to, whether they be a legacy goal song, a really appropriate song for the city, or just a personal favourite of yours that you think would make a good goal song when you're otherwise stumped with what to change a goal horn to that's thematically appropriate.
So thats what the Hawks goal song is called. I've been trying to find it for awhile but the only lyrics i can seem to remember are tududu tududu tudududududu lol.

The Haulin' Oates song the Leafs are using made sense the first season it was used, but it should have been retired a while ago. "Irish Washerwoman", used on the St. Patrick's day game was a very welcome change. Given the teams Irish roots, and Irish players like Reilly, O'Reilly, and O'Samsonov, I could go with it full time. Particularly if they did a tempo increase on every goal.
Oh, we are officially fighting about Song #2, Shannon. It may be important that that's the only Blur song I like other than Parklife (we're the same age btw). It's a fantastic goal song, and an appropriate #2 on the list for at least two reasons.

The Red Wings used to play a variety of things that were highly situational, and I really do miss that.

I have nothing to do today, so I went and paused your video on every team, then went and looked up their 2023 goal horn/song.
St. Louis and Montreal songs are ranked too low. Vancouver and Toronto songs need to be at or near the bottom. San Jose's song feels like it belongs in NHL '93. The best goals songs are up-tempo and LOUD. I agree with a lot of your thoughts -- Anaheim, Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Chicago (gasp) -- are all GREAT!
One song I would like to see back is Pittsburgh's old one: House of Pain - Jump Around! I think that's a GREAT song for pumping up the crowd.
Honorable mention to Steven Stamkos using MC Hammer for a personal goal song.
As an Avs fan I hate the goal song we use. "Hey hey hey" has to be the most generic thing to chant in all of sports. It's like some 2000s techno B's that has nothing to do with anything. Everything else I love, even all the small things.
You would think Tampa's song would be "Thunderstruck" by ACDC.
They do blast lightning bolts with those two tesla coils during their goal songs, props for that.

Agree - Let's Go Blues by the Urge is way low. A song - written specifically for the occasion - by a local hometown band - is what this should be about. The fact that I went to High School with the guys from the Urge (a very St Louis thing) also contributes to my love for the song.

I like the song "Don't You Forget About Me", but as a goal song it's soft, like how the Canucks respond when someone goons one of their players. It's like spraying the crowd with a sedative after scoring a goal in front of the fans. I loved it when they played U2 "Where the Streets Have No Name" leading up to the warmup, because it worked, but it also wouldn't make a good goal song either. If the Canucks DJ played Chelsea Dagger to mock the Blackhawks, when they were being blown out by Vancouver, they'd get rightfully fired for playing Chelsea Dagger and also start at least one fight on the ice and/or stands.
I'd love what St Louis do to celebrate their goals if I was a fan there. It's a killer for the visitors when those gongs stack up too much, but they're not playing it for the enjoyment of the visiting team. Back when the Canucks had a competitive team it was a killer to hear those gongs. The tradition of singing "Take Me Home, Country Road" is pretty cool too.
Tremendous. Just got in the mood to listen to some goal songs and searched for the Panthers, because I couldn’t recall their song, which brought me here. This will save me a lot of time. Especially now that I’m learning the Panthers have individual goal songs. That’s great, and I was completely unaware of that. Thanks once again THG!!

It would be nice to hear metal in an NHL arena, but a goal song is tricky. It has to come in after the horn in just the right way.

You were suggesting a time when Chelsea Dagger might be played for irony. Not exactly the same thing but earlier this year or last year I was watching a Sharks road game and one of their goals was being challenged for offside and it was a lengthy review. After a bit when it was seeming likely the goal would come off the board the team started playing the Sharks' goal song, I'm assuming to mock them.
The Blues did it to the Hawks after clenching the first round of the 2016 playoffs. The organist played it in the tempo of a funeral dirge.
I don't mind the simple minds song but I think they brought it in when Bruce came to town and they went on that winning steak and the Canucks wanted to tell everyone that hey, we're still in this too, so don't forget about us. It's lame yes but I does make some sense.

I'm guessing Ranger fans might have been overrepresented in the poll. To be clear: I love our goal song. I sing along with it even at home. My five year old daughter gets into it. If you're at the game the whole crowd sings along and does the fist pump with the HEY's and when it's a particularly big goal the atmosphere absolutely electric. Hell, they had a watch party at MSG for game 6 of the conference final last year and we went and sat there and watched the season end on the scoreboard, and even with the building only half full it was fun to sing the goal song together. *BUT* most of the songs created specifically as goal songs are ranked in the bottom half, so ours is definitely an outlier at #4. I guess longevity is helping it, too.
