I test drove the highland LR and ordered that day. I’m 6’2” and i still find the seats a little short in the leg. Because you sit lower than in the Y it’s not quite as big an issue. The air seats were lovely. I’m sure i’ll get used to the indicator thing. I was going to get a Y for the space and boot (dog and tip trips) but decided against it. The suspension in the Y is fine over speed bumb and pot holes. That is not the issue with Y and old model 3. It’s the little bumps, ripples and undulations that unsettle the car. Even on motorways you feel a constant jiggle. I’ve been a passenger in the Y and i felt a bit car sick because of this. This was on the smaller 19” wheels. The highland testdrive is a different car altogether. The drive was so settled and planted. Smooth on all surfaces. I think the lower rated tyres makes a massive difference. The driving position was fantastic. The speed and grip! Over taking is a buzz. Fast corners are great, just lift off and the regen pulls the front end into the corner and then back on power. One pedal driving is great on fast roads too! The test drive was so good i decided the dog will just have to go fu@k him self and take the bus. Ordered deep blue with white seats. Selling my passat estate. First time i’ve ordered a brand new car, just had to, can’t wait!

Loved the lighthearted vibe commentary, amazing scenaries, and most of all the pov driving exp!
Two biggest changes for me: suspension (less sporty because of much more roll but very comfortable) and interior noise much improved. Seats were great before and still are (bit more lateral support in the new ones).
Plus the ventilated seats are a great upgrade
No stalks are a disaster for roundabouts and any kind of situation where you are not going straight ahead and need to change direction quickly - notice on every 3 point turn you are not signaling when backing up, most likely because the buttons have moved to a strange place.
Its not that bad, im driving the new model 3 now for a week but you get used to it realu fast. You know when you steer where to look for them 😂
It's a plus if you live in a right-hand drive country, the signal buttons are literally in your face as you turn the steering wheel.

Was that the Standard Range or Long Range version you drove?
If you should activate the autopilot on that model, you should press the right wheel twice. (The same with the new S and X)
There's three ways to go into drive:
1. Slide up on the screen (Just what you did)
2. There's gear selection on top. (Where the hazards can be activated, or the illumination)
3. Just step on the gas pedal
There's also three ways to get into Park
1. Press park on screen (Just what you did)

In general for Tesla, do not take delivery if major misalignments are present and Tesla cannot resolve in short period of time
You can always turn off the light - won't be as apparent.

I wonder if the Tesla haters have ever watched a Tesla review... Specially with this model 3 Highland, I think they have perfected it (as perfect a car can really be). Just to mention again because I was looking this model 3 or Volvo EX30. If you go for model 3 Highland standard range single motor, is 7,000 euros cheaper than Volvo EX30 with similar or less specs and shorter range. This review just locked my preference. Great test drive!

The lr is fast enough for me, 0-60 in 4 seconds
a HUD would've been perfect for this car. It's a deal breaker, made totally sense especially because of how fast the acceleration is and you WANT to see what speed you're at without getting your eyes of the road.

I’m ordering this space spec. Long range dual motor.
Currently having a 21' M3P ; can't imagine having no fixed controls for turning signals and for gear chance it must be a pain in the ass getting out of a narrow parking space, all the time reaching to the screen..... instead of have your hands on the wheel.... wtf have they been smoking? turn signals would be ok when steering wheel is neutral position, but what if you drive a curve , have the wheel upside down and need to set the turn signal.... bonkers.... !

I hate the vision parking on my Model S, it's the only thing that had me thinking whether I should buy the car or not but the competition is so far behind that I bought it even though I hate it.

Will the lower body withstand the winter better than the old models, the inside of the fenders are completely poorly assembled on the old 3 models, everything is rusty after only 1 year.

Tesla is so innovative, I wonder if FSD as it improves is the reason you won’t need stocks or getting use to lane changing.
Also, Teslas have screen blackouts at times I can’t imagine how you will switch forward/reverse.
As far as I can remember from test driving the Model S '22, there is a bar with transmission switches available (below the QI chargers) where hazard key is also available. I am not going to criticize this issue, but in my opinion it is no big deal and I hardly ever heard of some cases when the screen disappeared at all.

I'm already used to the new turn signal switches on the steering wheel, after a while something just clicks, and your muscle memory will do the rest. Even on roundabouts I just know where to press now.

I will prove you, of course. Because if so, then you never tried Burmester (as in example you could find it in the more expensive EQS and EQE Benz or in Taycan). Nice to know: They are German so this why I consider them best in class not without a reason). And if you like to evaluate and get dive even more into it, then try Burmester in those two / three cars and compare it to their Standard radio speakers. And to those of Model 3 as well.

What are pro’s and cons for the M3 and MY in your opinion? Is the sound noise in the MY so much more then in the M3? And how about the driving quality between these two Tesla's?

I had a few Tesla loaners with different milages and on the ones that were driven longer, the seats were very uncomfortable, but sitting in a new Tesla, even the old Model 3 felt pretty good,

No Idea, but there will be a huge difference in kWh/km. That EX30 is a lot less efficient and seems (interior wise) like they tried to copy a M3/MY.
@@mikehawk1780 I think it is a bit premature to make efficiency claims at this juncture. For what it's worth, the updated M3 Highland was just comparison tested by MotorTrend with the Ioniq 6 and Polestar 2 and all had road trip efficiency right around 3 miles per kwh. The Polestar was the closest to it's advertised range with the Tesla being the worst in this regard.

The new Tesla model 3 high land is pretty simple, like the interior is pretty good cuz they added the neon lights and the parking system has be upgraded and the display back seat, but the outerior is really simple, the legacy looked good with the headlights like porsche, the backlight is ok,

How do you compare the Model 3 Highland to a 2023 Model Y Shanghai build ? Is the suspension the same ? What about the sound isolation ?
Suspension is better on new Model 3 Highlander, sound insulation maybe little better . Still try to test it

We've had our Model 3 screen crash while we're on the highway. Still drivable and all the steering wheel controls responded as expect. It's just...odd to have drive functions not easily accessible while your hand is on the wheel.
There are PRND buttons next to the ceiling lights that you can use.

In emergency usually you are not used to touch to the top next to ´Much better they solved in Model S / X ´22 below the QI chargers on the bar where hazard lights are placed or even better steering stocks from Mercedes-Benz as they invented from the early launch with first Model S.

This looks so many steps backwards compared to the leading EV's like the EV6, Ioniq 5, BMW i4 etc. no drivers display, no HUD, no stalks, no proper parking sensors.
Tesla are amazing at software, but yet again prove they can't design a good car to actually drive.
I have had a M3 LR for 3 years (sold it yesterday, will buy the new 2024-model next Spring), and it is a far more fun car to drive, than my previous 4 bmw´s. So "can't design a good car to actually drive" - I completely disagree. It is a beautiful driving machine, I always have a smile on my face when behind the wheel of the M3 LR.

Not quite there yet. Its a big improvement and its getting there, but the germans are still the king in comfort and luxury.

@@greenearth9945As a happy owner of an audi a4 Quattro, I can tell you that when I made a test drive with a model y performance, I didn't want to get out of that car. I like Audi besides the big problems, that I had, but tesla is one century in front. The only think that I liked with with my car better than the y, was the hard steering wheel and suspensions, but when I want to travel for a long time it starts be bothering and everyone that is inside the car, beside the driver hate it. Quality it seems little better in Audi's, but I think with the highland they turned opposite this thing too!!!
You will be happy until you need to park in tight spot and use vision as parking sensors :D Or drive on many european roundabouts and try to signal correctly. And of course after using automatic wipers - awesome as well :D

Buttons on the steering wheel for blinkers on a car that has a normal steering ratio doesn't make sense. Also it is well known that Tesla's cameras are not good at judging distance when parking. The fact that he knows these things and is watching this probably means he is in the market for an EV.

I can park in a extremely tight spot easily with my Audi A4, that has only one rear camera and normally I adjusted my wipers one time, before a long time and I never touched them again. Of course I know how to park to, so I dont need 1.000 cameras and sensors too.
But If you like the stalks so much, you can go to aftermarket solution, but remember that Lamborghini and Ferrari haven't stalks for many years and nobody hate them.
Also if you like many buttons, screens and other useless equipment to make it like a circus, you can buy an aftermarket front screen, the sexy buttons and the sexy knob. If you still buy all of them, believe me that the price will still be out of competition of other cars with the same equipment, performance and range.
For me is the perfect car, because I like the minimal style of the teslas and design of the current car, than my audi's that has many buttons I haven't never used with the half equipment and the uncompared technology of a model 3 highland!!!
For all of this reasons,I order it to keep company to my Audi 😂!!!

It is not. You cannot miss a stalk, no matter how big bump, how shaky your hands are, no matter what earthquake is happening. You can do it blind with a tip of a finger.

getting tired of Tesla removing basic car features and calling it "innovation" Nobody asked for the stalks to be removed, and now it limits functionality. Nobody asked for the physical buttons for aircon to be removed, yet they have.
I hope the cheaper model 2 has at least a few stalks and buttons. kinda ruins the car for me

The lack of turning signal stalks is why I will not buy this.
Same as me. Even though I always considered Tesla as an inventor and pioneer in electric cars. Now today (since Model 3 Highland) I am going to think different. To replace little reliable, foolproofed things such as Steering Stocks, electric openers instead of indoor door handles in order to save 2 pennies ($) in development, production and not least in balance sheet is that stupid.
So this is why I am going to consider a German car. Even they may not be perfect at all. But they got no stupid things like electric door handles and so on.
I would recommend test driving one to be sure. I've seen a lot of reviews were they don't mind it at all
It's not that big of a deal. Just have to drive it more than 5mins. Even roundabouts are not a problem after a while because the right indicator is always at the same place

Too many things missing in a Tesla !
Yes it's a good electric car but when it comes to assistance systems it feels like you bought a car from the stone age !
No Head up Display, no cross traffic warning, no front camera in the bumper, no 360 view, no matrix headlights, no automatic stopping infront of obstacles when parking, no way to clean the back up camera from the inside, automatic wipers still work terrible (especially at night!) and so does automatic dimming of the headlights and the traffic sign regognition !
Now they even removed the stalks which is dangerous in roundabouts as you have to look away from the road to find the right indicator button !
Vision only as a replacement of the parking sensors is still catastrophic!
It's been one year now and the promised software solution is trash !
The price they are asking for is way to much, if you think about how many features modern cars of today have it's lacking!
Musk once said the Model 3 will be the best equipped car money can buy but i guess he lied !
Unless you are blind or severely incompetent, you can still do fine without the "assistance features", even though Tesla makes up for them in other areas. Tesla is a technology company and works to do the same things any other tech company would: implement new things and update them regularly. I agree with you regarding the Tesla Vision, but I still can't see the end of the world without parking sensors, you still have a laptop next to you displaying some huge camera feeds. Time and updates solve all issues with Teslas.
Btw, M3 has had Matrix headlights since 2020.
L.E.: Musk could remove the steering wheel altogether, people would still flock to buy it thanks to its top of industry efficiency and performance.

Teslas for example cannot stop automatically infront of obstacles while parking.
A small Toyota Yaris can do that !
