I had a friend that used to work for the Warriors and he would occasionally get me tix to the games. After the game was over the only fans that were allowed to stay were friends and family of said players. I believe you needed to be on a list and have a pass to show security. It was a cool moment because most players were chilled afterwards and you could get a pic/autograph. Obviously this was done after the players would interact with friends & family and just before they went back to the locker room.
The Orlando Magic were in town and JJ was in his rookie year. Since I didn’t know any players personally, my buddy put me on JJ’s friends & family list. I thought I would get in trouble but he said to me “you could pass for his brother (not because we look alike, but because we’re both white). Besides no one (security) is going to check with him to see if he knows you.”
Sure enough I was able to stay afterwards and met some players not named JJ Redick.

I remember making a bet with my friend that JJ Redick would not get a second contract and would be out of the league after 4 years. When I tell you, I am impressed he lasted as long as he did. He was a good player. He was actually real good.
You were almost right. I remember wehen JJ first got to the Magic, he didn't play a lot of minutes. But he found his role and thrived as a starter with the Clippers and Sixers
If it was Adam Morris you would have been right. Came into the league around the same time as JJ and came in as the 3rd draft pick but had a terrible career.

I always thought JJ was really good. His threat shooting you respected. And now seeing him on this podcast and asking questions about white players. Man, that's the type of stuff I wanna hear. The stuff everyone avoids. Much respect and I'm tuning in to all his shows

Most Duke players i instantly dislike. I have some BS nba analysis as to why, but its just that, BS. In reality, i dislike Duke.
But JJ, by his late years with Orlando had shut me up, at least with him.
I remember Evan Turner being drafted in the 2010 draft along with Boogie and John Wall. I thought he'd spiral out the league but props to him for the career he has/had.
According to Wikipedia Turner is an assistant coach in the NBA now, Redick has retired and Iggy is still active, but he did tell Steph Dray and Klay that last year was his last season. Iggy also made reference to working in the business world now in this clip.
Lol, I remember being so excited when Sixers drafted ET, thought he'd take us to the next level. Did....not quite work out that way.

I love real talk from high-level players. I don't have to agree with everything, but dudes who played in the league for multiple contracts are always smart and thoughtful. They should feel free to speak their thoughts without fear.

As a Carolina fan and Alum, I remember Redick having Christian Laettner-level hate when he was playing for Duke. Today I would say he is one of the most well-liked NBA players out there, even among Carolina fans.

JJ Reddick is my dude. Man was a destroyer in college, and was very effective as a pro. Love his podcast. Q: Was Larry Bird a top 10 player. Definitely! I had him in my top 5 prior to LeBron. Top 5: 1) MJ 2) Kareem 3) Lebron 4) Magic 5) Russell
